Chapter 39: Birthday girl

Hailey and and Faith are like twins and they grew up together on the same street and have been best friends since they were 6 years old. They are very similar in their looks and how the act, Faith is a clinical psychologist and has her own clinic in New York. Jay has invited her here as a surprise for Hailey, who hasn't seen her in years.

4 months later

Jays POV
I walked into Molly's to see if everything was set up and that we were ready for Hailey's party tonight. I have rented it out for our selfs for the whole night so it will just be her friends. Plus I have some pretty great surprises planed for tonight and I just want to make sure that I do everything right. "Hey Herman I will be bringing her around 10:00 so make sure everyone is ready" I say "will do jay" he says as I exit Molly and head in my car. I went to the shops and got everything I needed before heading home and starting to create my plan.

Hailey's POV
I am awoken by the smell of pancakes coming from the kitchen. It's smells amazing, really it's the only thing stopping me from turning back over and going back to sleep. I slowly slip out of bed and walk down stairs to find the living room and kitchen all decorated. I feel myself start to smile as I look at all of the hard work Jay did for me.

When I make it to the kitchen I see Jay is standing at the hob cooking us some delicious looking pancakes. I walk up behind him and carefully wrap my arms around him. "Good morning" he says with a chuckle "morning" I say as I snuggle into his back. He places the spatula on the work top and turns around to look at me "Happy birthday baby" he smiles "aww thank you. You didn't need to do all of this for me" I say as I look up at him "agh come my girl deserves the world, nothing less" he says as he kisses me. "Ohh look at you, gone sloppy on me Halstead?" I chuckle "who me? Never" he jokes back.

"Go sit down and I'll bring our coffees and pancakes" he says. I do as I'm told and walk over to the island and take a seat. He places the plates down then grabs our coffees but before he sits down he grabs a bag from the living room and paces it to me. "Jay really?" I ask as I peek into the bag "just shhhh and open it" he chuckles as he starts to eat his pancakes.

Inside the bag is a very expensive bottle of our favourite whiskey, full of all of my favourite sweeties and then a square box at the bottom. I pull out the box and place the bag on the counter, I slowly open the box to find a beautiful bracelet inside. "Jay it's beautiful" I say as I carefully lift it out of the box to get a closer look of it. There was a heart in the middle of it which had a little 'I love you - J' in graved into it. "I love you too" I say as I lean over and kiss him. "You like it?" He questions "yess thank you baby" I say as I pull him into a hug.

After we finished our delicious breakfast we make our way over to the couch and we both cuddle up under a blanket. We pick out some of our favourite movies and just lay together as we watch them. I rest my head on his chest and shimmy up close to him to try and capture his warmth. He plays with my hair as we watch the movies and it is literally the most soothing thing ever. It's making me feel drowsy as I feel myself start to fall asleep as he keep playing with it.

Hours later

"Better get ready for your birthday dinner" He says after we had finished our third movie for today. "Yeah I need to go shower and get ready" I say as I sit up from laying on his chest. "Okay I'll be up in a bit okay" he says as I get up from the couch. "Okay" I say as I give him a quick peek before heading upstairs. I enter our en-suite and turn on the shower letting the hot steam fill the bathroom.
