4 days later

Jays POV
Today was Hailey's day off so she stayed home with Faith but to be honest it felt weird not being with her. We had nothing exciting today though, no cases or anything just lots of paper work. Boring really. As I'm leaving the district I hear my phone buzz. I pull it out and see a message from Hailey. 'Can you please pick up our pizza order on your way home? I've ordered you as well :)Xx.' I chuckle as I look at the message. 'Yeah no worries ;)Xx.' I send back. I get into my truck and drive to the takeaway place. It was quite quick actually and I didn't need to wait long. I collect her order and head back home.

"Pizza is here!" I shout as I walk inside the door. As I do I realise that they both are sitting at the island drinking a beer while laughing. They both turn to look at me with a smile. I walk over and place the pizzas on the counter. "Thank you" Hailey says as she stands up and comes over to me. "No problem" I smile as she kisses me. I take my jacket off and grab myself a beer before joining them. They sit across from me on the other side of the island while I stand.
"How was work?" She asks as she takes a slice of pizza. "Nothing decent just lots of paper work" I sigh. "Sounds fun" Faith says sarcastically. We all chuckle. "Yeah the job definitely has its perks" Hailey jokes. I nod in agreement as I pick up another slice of pizza. While we were eating I started to notice that they both have the same sliver ring on their index fingers.

Hailey's POV
As we both sit next to each other I see Jay subtly looking from my hand to Faiths. "You guys both have the same rings?" He asks as he looks up at us. We both nod and I look down at my hand which has the ring on. "Yeah there friendship promise rings" she says as we both slowly pull them off our fingers. "We both got our thumb prints engraved on it and I got Hailey's print and she's got mine. It's so that when we put them together it makes a heart." She says as she takes mine and puts it next to hers to create the heart. I smile as I look at it thinking about how happy we were the first day we got them. She turns it to show Jay and he smiles as well. "It also had 'No matter where we go, we'll always be together' engraved round the side of the ring." I say as i take mine back and show him the small writing on the ring.

"Really what it meant was that no matter where we are we will always have a piece of each other. It probably sounds silly but they mean a lot to us, I mean we've had these for probably 13 years now, we got them done before I left for New York." She says "Yeah and we also have these silly friendship necklaces that we got when we were like 10." I laugh as I point to the one that Faith it wearing around her neck. "This one has 'our bond is forever' engraved on the back of it, but we each have only have one half of the necklace but when we put them together it goes into a whole heart. I have 'our bond' and Hailey has 'is forever' on the back of hers." She says as she turns it over to show have of the sentence on the back. "Mines sitting on my draws upstairs, it's just something that we have kept for so long. I can't believe that we still have them." I say as I start to remember the day we got them when Faiths mum took us shopping.

"Well that necklace had lasted very long" he chuckles. We both nod in agreement as we carry on eating our food. "Do you not wear it that often for him to see it?" Faith asks in curiosity. "I don't usually wear it to work just incase I loose it so he probably wouldn't have noticed" I say honestly. She nods "I know I think my finger has shrunk because it slips on and off a lot easier than before" she chuckles as she shows how loose it is. "Worst comes to worst I'll put it on a chain and wear it as a necklace if it doesn't fit anymore" she says as she pushes it back on. "Yeah I should wear mine more often but I'm always worried about breaking it or loosing it. I can't bring myself to wear our engagement ring out sometimes. I have to lock it in my desk drawer" I say and Jay nods in agreement. "Yep she keeps all of the important things in that drawer and always locks it" he says. "Hmm locking it? Anything too secret in there?" She jokes. "Well let's just say that if I needed to hide or keep anything important safe that's where it would go" I say.
