Chapter 51: Visiter

Hailey's POV
We were sitting on the couch watching TV when someone rings out door bell. I get up from the couch and head to the door. I open it to see Will standing there with a bag. "Hey Will" I smile. "Hi Hailey. Ugh is my brother here?" He asks "yeah he's watching TV, come in" I say as I move out of the way. "Thanks" he smiles as he walks in. "Jay your brothers here" I say as we walk in. He turns his attention from the TV to us. He stands up and walks over. "Hey Will, everything okay?" He asks. "Yeah sorry to bother you guys but I need a favour" he asks. "Sure what is it?" I ask. "Nat and I kind of had a fight, can I sleep here tonight?" He asks shyly.

"Yeah of course" I smile. He looks back at us with a smile. "I won't get in the way I'll just sleep on the couch" he says. "Don't be silly, I've just cleaned the guest room you can stay in there" I say. "Thank you Hailey" he says. I lead him up to the guest room and bring him some towels if he needs some. I let him get his stuff in before heading back down stairs to Jay. He sits down on the couch further at the other end. "Want a beer Will?" I ask. "Ugh yeah" he says. I walk over to the fridge and grab three beers. I hand him one and then Jay before sitting back down.

Next day

I wake up at Jays alarm. I know it used to be for me too but Voights not letting me back just yet, he is still worrying over me so I'm on house arrest. Since I'm up I get dressed as Jay heads in the shower. Once I'm ready I go down stairs to start some breakfast. I put some coffee on and take a seat at the island. I'm eating my toast when I see Jay come down stairs and takes the drink of coffee I poured him. I see Will head down stairs and walk towards us. "Morning" I smile. "Morning" he says back. He takes a seat as Jay passes him a cup of coffee.

"Hey man can you drive me home please?" Will asks. Jay looks at his phone then up to his brother. "I'm running a bit late for work Will" he sighs. "I'll drive you" I say. "You sure?" Jay asks as he looks over to me. "Yeah you need to go to work" I smile "Okay thank you. I love you. Goodbye" he says as he leans down and kisses me before rushing out the door. I turn to Will. "Thank you Hailey" "it's no problem just grab your stuff and I'll take you when ever" I smile.

20 minutes later

We get into the car and I start to drive. It was about a 10 minute drive that we sat in silence. I didn't know what to say to him and I didn't know if he even liked me anymore. I have not properly talked to him since my incident. We arrive at the house and I pull into a parking space. Before he can say anything I turn to look at him. He looks up at me confused.

"Will I want you to understand that I would never do drugs on purpose and try to-" "Hailey you don't have to explain anything to me" he says cutting me off. "No I do. I would never purposefully put Jay through that, and I don't want you to think less of me because of what I did. It was a mistake, i big one that I regret. I can promise you that it will never happen again." I say as I look over to him. "Hailey we're all human okay, what you went through, what you've survived. You are allowed to make a mistake but you have to stop punishing yourself for it. You know you messed up but you got right back up again, your fixing it all. I'm glad that your okay." He says with a smile.

"Thank you for everything. I just wish that it didn't have to be like that. But I am incredibly grateful for you and what you did. I just wish that it didn't have to go down that way" I sigh. "You're here, your alive and recovering from a horrendous tragedy and after everything that I know you have been through, it amazes me that you are still you. You've never gone bad and you even manage to make my stupid brother a better person. Which believe me is a hard task." He says causing me to chuckle. "It's proud of you Hailey. I'm glad you okay" he smiles. I smile back at him. "Thank you for saving me" I say as I lean over and hug him. "Your welcome" he says as he pulls my into him.

"Right now go fix your own problems" I laugh as we break away from each other. "I will, thanks for the lift" he says as he gets out of the truck. He waved goodbye before walking into the house and closing the door behind him. I pull out of the space and drive away. I decided that I should go see the unit and how they were getting on.

I park my car and then walk into the district, Trudy smiling at me as I walk up to her. "Nice to see your face back here" she says. "Ohh have you missed me that much" I ask chuckling. "How are you today?" She asks. "Better. Taking it day by day" I smile to her. "Good I'm glad, I'm always here if you need to talk" she smiles. "Thanks Trudy" I smile.

I go upstairs and see everyone turn to look at me. Jays smile appearing on his face as he sees me. "Hey guys" I smile. Kim gets up and hugs me first. "Hey you" Adam chuckles as he hugs me next. "Hey" I smile. "There she is" Kevin laughs as he hugs me. "How have been?" They asks. "Good. I'm getting there" I smile. "Good to hear" Kim says as she squeezes my hand. "So you missed us that much you had to come here on your day off?" Adam asks confused. "Ohh come on you know she doesn't miss you guys she misses me" Jay says with a cheeky smile. "I dropped Will off" I say as I walk over to him. "Thank you" he smiles as he holds my hand. "Is Sarge in his office?" I ask. "Yeah" they all reply.

I smile and then turned to his door. I knock and walk in. "Hey sarge" I smile as I close the door. "Hailey" he smiles as he stands up from his chair and hugs me. "How have you been?" He asks as he sits back down. "Good. Getting there" I say honestly as I sit down in one of the chairs. "That's great to hear" he says happily. "I was wondering if I could maybe come back to work in the next couple of days. I really want to get back into my routine and get focused again" I say. "I mean if you feeling 100% I would be glad to have you back" he says. "I am" I say. He nods at me. "Well I can have you back next shift with Jay. He needs his partner back, me and him kind of but head sometimes" he chuckles. "I would love too" I say happily.

I walk out of his office and they all look back up to me. "Everything okay?" Jay asks as he walks up to me. "Yep. You'll be getting your partner back next shift" I smile happily. "Are you serious" he grins. I nod and he starts laughing. He pulls me into a hug and I smile. This is it, this is everything I needed.
"What is it?" Kim asks. "Hailey will be coming back to work next shift" Jay says happily. "Ohh that's so great" Kim smiles.
