Taehyung's POV

Today is an awful day already. We have dinner with our father because he asked for one with the whole family. He does this once in a while but nothing good happens in them, we either get into fights or no one talks at all, and the thing is it's mostly his fault.

He doesn't even care about his own family, all he cares about is his status and the money he earns. I mean if you count making money for the family I guess he cares a lot.

I have to bring Beomgyu to the dinner but I didn't tell him about it yet, he's the one that gets the most affected by the fights. Usually, after not talking at all he would sprint and lock himself in his room for 2 days. He would get out only if there was school, he doesn't come out for other meals and cuts off all types of communication with the outside world.

I can't stand my dad acting out for no reason, especially since it's his fault, but it's even worse seeing Beomgyu in that state. It breaks my heart to see him in that state. I might seem rude on the outside but that's because I'm a little protective of my little brother. I don't want anything bad to happen like before.

I saw Beomgyu talking to the blonde kid at lunch, he looked genuinely happy, that was enough for me. I really didn't want to ruin his happiness but if he didn't join the dinner something might happen to me, or worse him, and I am not risking it.

The blonde kid, Taehyun I think his name was, wasn't talking, yet Beomgyu was smiling his contagious, goofy, smile. It's not that I don't like Taehyun, well actually I do, it's just that I didn't want him to hurt Beomgyu. I knew he was from the orphanage, which means that he probably went through a lot which means that he might trouble Beomgyu, which I can't have.

I want him to stay away even if Beomgyu doesn't like that, I'm just doing what's best for him. Taehyun also gets on my nerves, he acts like he's more superior to everyone else around him, always with a blank face and not answering when I question him. You can blame the inferiority complex on my father.

Beomgyu was also sitting with Yeonjun and Hueningkai and some other black-haired guy. I knew Hueningkai and Yeonjun because my father did a lot of business with theirs. They were okay people, I talked to Yeonjun once or twice and he seemed like a decent person, he cares about the people around him, hopefully, that means he wouldn't do anything to Beomgyu.

Hueningkai is a bouncy person, in my opinion, a little too bouncy. He can sometimes be a little annoying but he's not awful. I have to be careful around the other raven-haired and Taehyun though.

I walked over to Beomgyu but he didn't seem to notice me, but Taehyun did. He looked up at me not saying anything with slightly wide eyes, I returned the gaze.

Beomgyu noticed Taehyun looking at something and looked in the same direction to see me still looking at Taehyun trying to give a deathly glare. Beomgyu stood up immediately and pushed me away from the rest of the group.

"Taehyung, what are you doing here?", he questioned me with a confused look. I smirked at him for thinking that I would do anything with Beomgyu watching. I would never do anything critical in front of Beomgyu unless it was crucial.

"Now that's no way to talk to your older brother, is it?"

"Fine, Hyung, now what do you want?", he replied.

"What, do you think that I would hurt them?"

"Well, considering what you did last night to Taehyun, maybe.", he said getting a little impatient.
