No One's POV
A few kids turned around to look at the pair, snickering and pointing, but Beomgyu narrowed his attention to only the younger seated next to him. Taehyun faltered. "But... but how?" he whispered. Living at the orphanage was already a big pain in the butt, and there was no way Ms. Kim would let him live with Beomgyu. Even if he really wanted to. That's when Beomgyu smirked and whispered into his ear, "I think I have a plan for that."
---
Taehyun grumbled. He's usually a very obedient boy who'd never do anything without permission, but he wasn't sure why Beomgyu brought out the wild side of him he never knew he had.
"If we get in trouble for this," which Taehyun was positive they were going to, "it's not my fault." Beomgyu slapped the younger on the back, causing him to almost drop two small suitcases filled with his life's possessions.
"Oh, relax, you're so uptight." In reality, he was more than excited Taehyun had agreed to his, even he has to admit, outrageous idea.
It was late at night on a Tuesday; the twinkling stars and faded moon indicating morning was around the horizon. Beomgyu had asked Taehyun to pack his things and sneak out of the orphanage as soon as night fell.
The blonde had to disable some of the sensors he knew Ms. Kim had. He was also careful to not step on that one squeaky stair while walking out for what he hoped was the last time at the orphanage to Beomgyu's awaiting car. Taehyun had even said a few hurried goodbyes before leaving, but a part of him felt like he'd be back soon to see the other children.
Taehyun was never really close with the children there, but leaving them in the hands of Ms. Kim without him being there sent shivers down his spine. He knew that none of the children there were close with each other, but they all had one common goal: escaping the orphanage, which is why he knew that they wouldn't snitch on Taehyun.
"Did you get everything?" Beomgyu asked when Taehyun stepped out and gently closed the door behind him making sure he wasn't going to wake anyone up. Taehyun rolled his eyes at the older's comment, he didn't even have a full suitcase, there were only two bags and the one that was more filled was stuffed with books and notebooks for school. As soon as Taehyun was 5 steps away from the prison-like orphanage, he couldn't help from smiling ear to ear.
If life was like this every day, things might actually be alright. Beomgyu opened the high oak door of the ginormous house to let Taehyun in. Although the house looked enormous in the day, it felt even bigger at night. But no matter how many times he visited, it always brought back memories whether they were pleasant or not.
"Here, I'll take your bags," Beomgyu whispered, in case anyone heard them come in, but he doubts they'd care. Taehyun hesitantly handed it to him, trying to find some article of clothing on the brunette to cling onto in the process from the loss of balance. It'd be more than embarrassing if he fell here too.
Beomgyu felt nimble fingers slide up his shoulder for stability. The older smiled to himself secretly liking how butterflies erupted in his stomach.
Slowly walking up the stairs, Beomgyu leaned in and whispered,
"How do you like your new home?" Taehyun pondered for a moment. The silence was deafening in the house and sight was already out of the question. But the smell. He took a deep breath in and almost started to choke when he realized what it smelled like. Beomgyu. This was going to be the perfect home. Although it didn't look like the one in his dreams, it definitely felt like it.
By the time they were making their way down the hall, Taehyun realized Beomgyu was still looking for an answer. He leaned in and whispered back,
"It couldn't have been better." And even though there was no way of seeing it, Taehyun was sure Beomgyu smiled even more.
