"Someone other than me who's going into that oven."

"Now that, that's a survivor's move."

Meave looked back at the man, not knowing whether to help him or not. She didn't want to betray the possible girlfriend of Murphy, but killing an innocent man in such a way.... She watched Roan who gave her comforting eyes, trying to soothe her even from over a big distance. Unfortunately, he didn't know what was going on and so of course he was gonna soothe her, not stop what was happening.

"Vital signs are strong. Jackson, seal the chamber." Abby declared as her eyes sharply stared at the so-called criminal, Baylis.

Poor Baylis....

"Copy that." Jackson sealed the glass cabin they had put the unconscious man in and made sure no radiation could leave the cabin for their safety.

Their safety.... this innocent man was going to be forced into the dark pits of hell with no hope of salvation, just to secure their own safety.

Meave couldn't help but stare at the floor, head lowered and hand running through her hair.

Yes, she couldn't deny she was a killer herself, but all of this felt different. She had never been the first to pull the trigger, never been the first to launch an attack at her enemy while bringing weapons into the fight.

This was completely different.

This was killing a defenseless man in the hope the theory they came up with worked and then live their last seconds depressed over the body until theirs ended as well.

However, unfortunately, it had to be done. The black rain had already found its way to Becca's island and it meant they were running out of time, fast.

Jackson finished the last few necessary things and then began the process. "He's ready." He said before backing away from the device.

"Yeah, but are we?" Raven crossed her arms, not able to pull her eyes off the glass chamber and the man in it and everyone could still see the innocent humanity in her eyes.

Raven had been one of the only people left on earth who never took a life from someone directly, of course she had created the weapons, but she herself had never taken someone's life and Meave could definitely admire her for it. She even had to admit that might've been harder to do than taking a life in this world.

"The guy's a monster." Emori held on, suddenly Meave recognising the manipulative signs she showed. How didn't she recognise them sooner?

"Are you sure about that?" She snapped, having enough of this and wanting everyone to think for themselves for a second.

"We've been over this." Clarke interrupted Meave. "None of us wants to do this, but the death wave will be here in 10 days. Luna's stem cells grafted successfully. Baylis is making nightblood on his own." Clarke quickly shared a look with Roan before she turned her head back at Emori. "This really is our only hope."

"We really are still talking about this? Black rain is already here. 18 people died in it yesterday at Arkadia, so if nightblood can let us walk around in it, I, for one, want to know about that." Murphy tried to hide his mischief smirk, surely not against what was gonna happen as they both watched from the balcony.
