"I could ask you the same, Azblida." He glanced up at her after putting his weapons and rabbits down onto the wooden table and she furrowed her eyebrows.
Meave had no idea what he was talking about.
"Azwhat?"
~~~
"One herself never heard of it, mmh?" The mysterious man smiled to himself and shook his head while Meave couldn't help but look at him all confused. He noticed she was speaking the truth and was completely unaware of the definition and so he cleared his throat. "Azblida simply means Ice Blood. It's dark blue colored blood, an invented myth and belief common to Azgeda and the other clans. Every newborn child descended from Azgeda is tested on it, that's because none other than Azgeda can be diagnosed with it. Well, that's what they believe. After hearing the stories for such a long time, I lost my faith and no longer understood why we even bothered to keep testing the children. It was a waste of our time. At first I couldn't understand why everyone was so stupid to think that that kind of blood existed, but I've seen it in living stages myself~.... inside of you. "
In the meantime that he was trying to explain what it meant, he stripped the rabbit he had caught from it's fur so he could cut the meat off of the animal and clean both the meat and the fur.
"Why did the people keep searching for it, knowing it could have been 'made up' at that time?" He scoffed and then looked up at Meave before he sat down next to the fire, holding the meat above the hot flames with an old sword.
"I gave up trying to understand their logic, but I have to give them some credits because you seem to have the blood. If the complete tales are true, you are very fortunate, but yet suffering from many drawbacks as well." Meave tilted her head at him and tried to stand up despite the pain, only to find out she was handcuffed to the wall behind her.
"Why am I bound to the wall?"
"You think you're allowed to walk around freely?" A reckless, but playful smile made its way onto her face and she nodded at him, regretting it immediately when the woman saw him narrow his eyes. "You're not. Now, you better tell me who you are before I spill that beautiful blood of yours and decorate the floor with it."
Meave swallowed at his sudden change of acting and she again nodded at him.
It was probably the right moment to act seriously because he seemed like the kind of man who would honor their promises.... no matter what kind of promises they made.
"I'm Maeve Collins~.... I'm from Arkadia, Skaikru. I came here with the same reason that made you come here too, to find Wanheda."
"Interesting." He hooked the impaled rabbit onto a hook so that it stayed in place above the fire before he got up to check the cave's entrance.
"If you know so much about my blood, aren't you from Azgeda yourself?" She took the risk to question him about his clan as well and he looked at her from over his shoulder. He couldn't blame her though right? He already knew who she was and she just really wanted to know something about him too.
"Smart girl." He leaned against the cave's entrance and gave her a single nod.
There was something going on between the man and his clan because of how the man spoke up about them, but precisely because of that Meave decided to let it rest.
She didn't want to end up dead because of a few small silly questions.
"The pros and cons?" She leaned back against the wall and his head turned her way again, his eyes narrowed and his jaw gritted.
