"THE QUEEN IS DEAD! LONG LIVE THE KING!"  Everybody started to repeat te same line and as did Meave with pride. She hadn't seen this all coming, but was proud nonetheless.

Nobody important had died at the hands of the single combat and she couldn't wait to wrap her arms around Roan again and tend to him.

~~~
The woman pushed herself once again through the crowd so she could follow her king that was now being escorted to his room. She knew she wasn't allowed up there while he was escorted up and that she was definitely not allowed into his room, but her room was on the same floor so she had an excuse to be there. They couldn't just send her away from her own chamber.
Of course she had to take the awful stairs up again because the elevator was being used and watched a group of guards bring a woman downstairs. The guards probably had tried to bring a woman upstairs to patch the king up but he probably had refused the offer. Not that she knew why though. It wasn't like he was going to do it himself. He was a king, he didn't have to.
Walking up the last steps of the never ending stairs, Meave opened the heavy doors to her room quietly to avoid any interactions with the guards. She didn't want them to question her and stop her from going to her chamber while they left the king's room and walked into the hallway. The woman saw it as a perfect opportunity to climb up his balcony with the help of hers and join him in his room, which she actually did. Carefully, she climbed onto the railing of her balcony and jumped onto the railing of his, losing her balance for a short second before she corrected herself and stepped onto the steady stones.
Roan had heard the loud bang of her feet hitting the concrete and quickly opened his curtains to see what had happened only to see it was Meave waving joyfully on his balcony. With a slight smirk he unlocked the glass door and wrapped his arm around her small waist, pulling her inside.
"You should stop being so reckless, I don't want my woman to injure herself by climbing onto balconies." He whispered into her ear and the woman smiled.
"But your woman doesn't want to be spotted by one of your guards." Meave pointed out, putting a lot of emphasis on the words 'your woman'. However, Roan just laughed at what she said and kissed her shoulder gently before letting go of her again.
"I wouldn't mind them finding you here with me~.... it would make the choice whether to tell our people about us already or not way easier because that choice would've been made for us then." Roan smirked a little, eyeing Meave up and down slowly.
"Yeah, but I don't think it's smart for the guards to spread the words, it would bring chaos and perhaps make the people not trust you anymore." The woman shrugged and crossed her arms. "It would look like you never planned to tell them. Oh, and could my king sit down for a minute?" She quickly asked the question during their conversation so she could tend to his wounds in the meantime, but she hadn't expected him to listen. To her surprise, he actually did obey her and sat down onto the edge of his bed, causing the just-made bed to mess up.
Grabbing the bucket of water, Meave threw the towel over her left shoulder and kneeled down between his legs. With her other hand she grasped the towel from her shoulder again and dropped it into the warm water, wringing it out a little so the king wouldn't get all wet when she started cleaning his injuries. Meave lifted one of her hands up while the other one stayed on his thigh and she pressed the wet cloth against his chest, trying to wash off the dried blood in his open wounds to help it stop from infecting.
"Meave?" Roan moved his focus down to watch the woman with a poker face, but being close enough to him she could already poke through the emotionless glare and pick up some glimpse of lack of confidence in his blue eyes and it made her wonder what was bothering him. He sighed after a moment of silence and took her hands in his while he tried to get her attention. "Have you ever thought about having children with someone?"
