In the corner of Meave's eye she could see Clarke joining them and she kindly nodded at her in respect.
"We light them up."
"That's right."

"You want to light a fire outside the ship we just spent the last month getting ready?" Monty asked in disbelieve and honestly Meave couldn't believe what they were discussing either, but maybe that was her 'don't choose a side and stay neutral' instinct.
"That's not happening." Clarke stated sternly while crossing her arms, not liking the idea at all either. "Any word from Kane?"
"No, but Jaha found the cargo truck 12 hours out, no sign of Bellamy or Stephens."
Clarke pressed her lips together into a firm line, hoping to keep her tears at bay as she glanced at the Meave across the navigation table. "I have to speak to Roan. Something happened, some sort of misunderstanding."
"If he wanted to talk, he wouldn't be coming with his army."
"Right, but there's only one way to get here from Polis. I'll ride out and meet him."
"I'll go with you, Clarke. The king is my husband and he may listen quicker to me than he would listen to any of you." Meave shrugged a little and felt a light congrats pat on her shoulder, turning around to see it was Monty who congratulated her silently. It seemed he was happy for her that she was married and happy herself and she returned the smile he gave her. It brought her joy to see Monty again and to see that he was glad to see her too.
"Are you.... no absolutely not."
"Actually, that might work." Monty mumbled and Harper furrowed her brows.
"Monty, what are you talking about?" Harper's eyes were filled with confusion, but Meave already knew what her friend was talking about.
It made her think about so many good memories she shared with not only Monty, but also Jasper and her deceased brother....
Monty, Jasper and Meave had always shared ideas, whether it was on the Ark or on the ground, they always thought the same as if they all shared the same brain. To be honest, she did miss the easy times back on the Ark if she thought about it. She loved sharing classes with each other, game nights with her friends and brother, joking around, doing all those innocent and fun stuff before they were locked up. Sometimes whenever she looked back at those memories, she couldn't hide the fact that she missed that shithole in space sometimes. However, Meave definitely felt more at home on the ground than she did up there. Both places had its charms.
"The Ice Nation thinks they have the element of surprise, but thanks to Octavia and having his wife next to us, we do. Pike showed us how valuable that can be." Monty explained.
"You're citing Pike?"
"As awful as that sounds, yes." He sighed and a few disgusted looks were shared before everyone left the navigation room, doing their own parts of the plan after it was explained piece by piece.
~~~
Clarke had escorted Meave to the cave that was selected to carry out the negotiation. A cave that had only one entrance to prevent anyone from eavesdropping on the conversation.
