That also explained why she was the only one with the blood, though the knowledge didn't explain why Azgeda knew about it or believed in it before her birth.

Perhaps she had had ancestors on the earth with the same beneficial blood disease.

Meave, Roan and a few others from the group had left to go back to Polis first in the morning with the first few injections. The plan was to inject as many people as possible in the last 10 days they had left and if they worked fast, they could perhaps even inject maybe more than half the people who were now living in the area between Polis and Arkadia.

When they felt the rover stop, parked right outside of Polis, Meave hopped out with the help of Roan and together they carried the first two bins of injections out of the trunk. She was so hyped to begin with making everybody immune, to keep the last bit of humanity on this earth alive, she couldn't stop smiling.

Strolling through the trees until they got to a large open field, they stopped when they were greeted by Kane. If Meave didn't have a bin filled with expensive injections in her hands, she would've definitely hugged him, but it was better to stay careful holding those bins.

At that moment, Meave realized how much she had actually changed. She never missed people, not at the Ark, not on the ground, but now, especially after the dark times that had taken place, she couldn't wait to see everyone again.

"Gentlemen. It's good to see you." Kane started and waved Jackson, Nathan, Roan and someone she didn't quite know over. She was still diagonally behind Roan, but he noticed her quickly too and enthusiastically walked up to her in person. "It's so good to see you as well, Meave."

"You too, I missed you." She smiled and carefully put the heavy box down so she could pull him in for a tight embrace.

"I missed you too hun, definitely after all the things that had happened in these strange times." He smiled before letting go again so he could look her in the eyes. "How are you feeling?"

"Pretty good actually." She relaxed and could see Kane quickly glare down at her small bump.

"Good to hear that." He patted her back gently and nodded, then turned to Roan to decently shake his hand and whisper something that made him smile.

Kane wasn't her dad, but he couldn't resist acting like it and it sometimes was quite embarrassing.

Nathan and Jackson had already disappeared between the dark trees in the meantime and Kane gave both of them a small bow before heading towards the rover.

Meave had to be honest about the fact that she still wasn't used to being an 'important' figure to people and so the bow he did kinda annoyed her, but he also did the bow to pick up her box from the ground though so she didn't have to carry it anymore and she did feel thankful for that.

When Kane disappeared out of their sight, they continued walking to the gates of Polis and she smiled warmly at Roan as they made their way through the opened gates.

She was so happy to be 'home' and even though there was a lot of chaos, the people at least didn't pay any aggressive attention to them either.

The only thing they had to do now was make sure they could multiply the injections with the help of the new Natblidas in the following days, but that was only possible if they could create some sort of tranquility among the people and make them trust the plan as well. It was likely that most people would be put off by the idea that there would be no more 'real' Natblidas anymore this way, but that was why Roan and Meave were there to at least talk to their own clan about it.

"Haihefa en Haiplana laik bakon!" [The King and Queen are back!] It didn't take long before everyone to notice them and bow their heads all the way to the tower.

"Shouldn't we speak to them right away?" Meave asked Roan quietly as they got into the elevator to get to the throne room upstairs.

"First we get everything ready, then we speak to our people." He stated. "That way we can start sooner."

"Next!" Clarke called out to the people waiting in line and Meave realized she had lost count of how many people they had already treated.

The plan was put into action right after order was restored in the city and they felt positive about the situation.

They had talked to Indra and the other ambassadors of the clans, even though some of them hated the king, and together they came up with a fair proposal.

Each tribe would create a list of people who wanted to live, free willingly, and then they would merge the lists together so that each person after one another was from a different tribe. This way every tribe had at least a couple of people surviving the nuclear explosion without anyone being last in line, scared their tribe wouldn't survive.

Meave felt like putting a person of a clan after another of a different clan felt more fair than putting the entire tribes after one another. One from Azgeda after one from Trikru after one from Skaikru and so on, every time keeping that same order to keep everything even and fair for everyone.

Meave was kinda growing tired though as she watched and took part in the process for a thousandth time now, starting to unconsciously snuggle into the throne she was sitting on to get comfy and perhaps get some rest.

"Meave?" The gentle rough voice whispered into her left ear, hoping to keep her awake. "Hey~ stay awake for a little while longer, angel."

"I'm sorry." She sighed loudly as she tried to focus on the people in front of her again.

The next one to sit down was a man from Azgeda, seating himself next to Abby as she got him ready for the injections, and a few more followed for the night until Meave could see the sun starting to rise. It was the sign that the night queue was over and the next infinite one would follow in about 2 hours which gave them enough time to have some rest, but not enough for enough sleep.

Meave sighed again. She really needed some good sleep or something to eat if she wanted to make it to next week, but besides her hunger and exhaustion, she was happy to hear that they were not doing this alone anymore though because some friends from Skaikru would be traveling to Polis soon.

2 days later: 3 days left until Praimfaya.

Meave was finally able to get some rest after they had split up the group in two so they could take shifts injecting instead, but she could already feel Roan snuggle up from behind her and she sighed.

It was her time to get up....

Why did they have to split them up?

Roan buried his face in the crook of her neck as his arm wrapped itself around her waist, pressing her back into his broad chest. "Don't get up yet, angel." He mumbled against her soft skin, his hot breath tickling her neck. "The rest of Skaikru arrived this afternoon, we can spend some time cuddling."

She smiled, humming. "Thank god. Wasn't their journey supposed to be delayed though?"

"It was, but the last few hours were easy for them to travel." He smiled too and felt her trying to get up.

She wanted to greet them so badly, but not even once this week did Roan and her have the chance to snuggle and relax, they didn't even see each other, so she slowly laid back down again.

"Just a few more minutes." She muttered, already half sleeping against Roan again as she let his body warm hers.
