"What could possibly go wrong?" Roan's rough voice delightfully echoed around and with one look at his wife hopped inside the back of the second rover.

~~~
Back aching, Meave was curled into Roan's side during the drive. The road was too wobbly for her to sit comfortably and her upset stomach didn't get better from it either. Roan had tried to make everything easier for her in offering his coat for her to sit on, but that only worked the first hour.
She could only hope for a stop soon, but she knew a stop would be impractical and she didn't want to slow the group down no matter how bad her pain got. Instead of asking for one, she sucked it up with a poker-face, but it only made things worse.
Roan gently rubbed her belly without caring about the guards getting suspicious, he was too busy wishing it would help her ease her stomach. He didn't want her to throw up the little food she had eaten. She needed it for her and the baby to stay healthy after all.
"What's going on..?" Meave suddenly whispered, half awake as she felt the rover stop beneath her.
Roan didn't answer when he heard another voice however and held his finger in front of his lips, pulling her closer to hide her beside him.
"Wanheda." A deep voice called out to Clarke. Definitely Trikru....
"What happened here?"
"Azgeda burned our village to the ground, my father caught an axe with his leg and we can't stop the bleeding." The man explained and even if they couldn't see what was going on, Meave could only imagine Clarke doing what she always did, checking on those who were in need.
"I'm sorry, there's nothing we can do." She exclaimed though, assuming she said so because they had little to no time left.
"Think maybe you can clear the road?" Bellamy asked the man and the Trikru leader agreed, commanding everyone to move from the road so they could pursue their travels.
"If you're headed to Polis, we could use a ride."
"We're not headed to Polis."
"Broadleaf and plains riders are moving against Azgeda. We want in." Roan raised his eyebrow in confusion and his guards shook their heads. They were fighting their clan and they couldn't do anything, not even warn them.
"Hey, kid, get away from there!" Bellamy shouted out of nowhere and Meave noticed a little boy appear in the opening of the rover, watching Roan with an open mouth. One of the guards actually tried to draw his sword to slice the child's throat, but in a glimpse of an eye Roan shoot upright and held the man back.
He wasn't going to let his men kill an innocent child.
"AZGEDA!! AZGEDA!!!" The child screamed and ran back to his family.
"NO! MOVE!! DAMNIT!!" Bellamy cursed beneath his breath before he hopped right back into his seat again and Roan, without hesitation, sat in front of his wife to keep the whistling arrows from hurting her.
"Jesus Christ...." Meave cursed quietly, trying to see if Roan wasn't hit either when they got away from the Trikru group.
"It's okay, love." He reassured her and sat against the side again to relax. "I didn't get hurt. No one did."
She nodded and rested against him again, trying to warm up. "Thank god."
~~~

After a few more hours of driving, the rover abruptly came to a stop. "We're taking a break?" She looked around and waited for it to stand still for a little longer before getting out with Roan, stretching her legs.

"Ice melt. I'll find us a place to cross upstream." Bellamy explained and started to walk off, getting stopped by Clarke.

"Wait. Take the rover. You'll cover more ground and it'll be safer." She suggested.

"With him?" Bellamy silently asked, nudging his head at the king, and Meave coughed to get his attention. "Sorry." He rolled his eyes.

"We have to get across the river. The rest of us will stay here and guard the fuel."

"We won't be long. Eyes sharp!"

Meave glared up at Roan and he gently signed for her to join him. He wasn't going to trust anyone else other than Bellamy to safely guard her if he wasn't around and because Bellamy had to join him, he of course wasn't going to leave her behind. Especially not now she was pregnant.

"Ai haiefa! Osir beda goch yu op." [My king! We should go with you.]

"Non bilaik mou meija kom disha shimon. Taik em klir." [Nothing is more important than this cargo. Keep it safe.] Roan made sure to clarify to the guards that they should focus on the cargo before he jumped back inside the rover, looking behind him to check if his queen was there.

"I'm here." She smiled a bit and he nodded, watching the road as Bellamy tried to find a place to cross.

"Look." He pointed and parked right in front of a spot that was dry and could be used as a crossing point. "Clarke, come in. We found a crossing. Over." The three of them jumped out, finding it off no one answered. "Cargo one, do you read me? Over. Clarke, come in."

"Something's wrong." Roan frowned while grabbing Meave's waist gently to pull her inside the rover again. "We should leave."

"What if something is wrong with Clarke?" Meave whispered concerned, not wanting to worry Bellamy as he drove back. "There's no one here?" Meave called out confused and got out.

"Be careful, Meave!" Bellamy yelled as the woman ran to the side of the river, confused as hell. "Clarke, come in. Cargo one, where the hell are you?" He tried to contact Clarke again as well.

"Bloody hell...." She cursed, standing with her heels into the cold running water while she stared down at a body bag, zipping it open. "Roan, Bellamy!! It's Seiku!"

"Where the hell are the others?" Bellamy questioned, also staring down at Seiku's corpse.

"They took the truck to go to Polis. That means that at least one of yours is still alive." Roan scratched his beard as he brainstormed, all switching their attention back to the rover. They had to get to Clarke soon before something bad could happen to the fuel and her. "I'm so glad I brought you with me, Angel." He whispered into her ear as they rushed back to the rover.

"Me too." She nodded. "Me too."
