He should have known.
He should have known, of course she would read those stories to her child. And, of course, he should have expected that her child would become a believer, just like she had been.
The little girl sitting in the snow continued to stare at him with her wide eyes- green eyes, just like her mother's, he noted.
"J-Jack Frost...." she whispered. "You're Jack Frost.... aren't you?"
The door to the house opened before he could think to answer her, and his breath caught in his throat as she came into view.
Rapunzel.
"Momma!" The little girl scrambled to her feet, running into her arms. "Momma, look! Jack Frost!" She said, pointing at Jack, who stood frozen in his spot.
Rapunzel looked up, and their eyes seemed to meet- Jack held his breath, hoping that maybe, just maybe-
"Honey, there's no one there."
