Mericcup week 2016 part 2
"Okay, folks," Flynn said, clapping his hands together. "There's a fancy dress party for you to attend at the Snowflake Hotel tonight." He announced.
Merida groaned, sitting up on the couch. "You couldn't have told us earlier, Rider?" She grumbled.
"For once, it's not intentional, flamehair." He said. "Invitations were only sent out this morning, due to a," Flynn paused, glancing at his phone. "An error in the guest list." He shrugged. "I've already accepted the invitations on behalf of both you and your boyfriend." He smirked, waggling his eyebrows at her.
"He's not my boyfriend." Merida sighed, scowling at him.
"Whatever you say, Mer." He said, turning away. "Anyway, you both should go shopping. Catch." He tossed a credit card at her.
She caught it easily. "Whose card is this?" She asked.
"It belongs to a Miss Morgana Levina." Flynn replied. "That's you, by the way."
"I've already forwarded the invitations to your phones. The details about the dress code is it there. The party starts at 7," he glanced at the clock. It was almost noon. "You might wanna go wake sleeping beauty up." He said. "He needs a proper suit too."
She sighed, getting up reluctantly. After last night's fight, she wouldn't be surprised if he was still sleeping. The door to his room was still closed.
She knocked on the door. "Hiccup?" She called. No reply. She sighed, reaching for the doorknob.
Before she could turn it, the door swung open, sending her stumbling forward. "Oh." Hiccup grunted as she fell against him.
It took approximately two seconds for her to realise that he was not wearing a shirt. And that he had really nice, chiseled abs. Well, so he wasn't a scrawny fishbone after all.
"You okay, Merida?" He called.
"Um. What?" She said dumbly. How much did he work out to get those abs? How had she not noticed?
"Merida, are you staring at my abs?"
The teasing tone in his voice snapped her out of her trance, and she looked away quickly, all too aware of the heat in her cheeks. "Didn't expect a fishbone like you to have abs." She mumbled, embarrassed.
Hiccup snorted. "Wow."
"What are you doing walking around half naked anyway?" She asked, allowing herself a quick glance over his body. He was wearing a pair of tight jeans that emphasized his-
She tore her eyes away quickly. Nope, don't go there.
"I was taking a shower." He said, pointing at the towel on his head. She blinked. Why hadn't she noticed that earlier- "If you had been actually looking at my face instead of my abs you'd have noticed that earlier." Hiccup smirked, towelling his wet hair.
No fair, Merida thought. His wet hair was falling into his eyes and he actually looked kind of sexy- abort abort abort abort! Snap out of it!
She shook her head, forcing herself to focus on the door frame instead. "We have to go attend this party tonight." She started.
"Yeah, I saw Flynn's message." Hiccup cut in. "I don't like the idea. It seems a bit suspicious, a surprise party the day after intruders almost manage to break in?" He frowned, hand reaching for his shoulder.
She noted the darkening bruise across his shoulder. It must have been from last night's fight. At least the guards only had batons with them, and not guns...
"You're right," she said. "But this is still a really great opportunity for us to gather more intel about the target. Eret Junior will be attending. We might not get a chance like this again."
He still didn't lose the frown. "True." He sighed. "So now what?"
"We go shopping." She said, producing the credit card. He raised an eyebrow at the card, lips forming a smile.
"Just straight away go shopping? Without my shirt on?" He teased.
She rolled her eyes, walking away from him. Stupid fishbone.

"Hello, my name is Gothel," the woman before them said, lips pulling into a trained smile. "How may I help you today?"
"I need a suit, and my lady friend here," Hiccup said, gesturing to Merida. "Needs a gown."
She hummed, looking them both over. "Ladies first?" She suggested, leading them to the female section of the shop.
"Let's see." Gothel said, circling Merida. The calculating look in her eyes sent shivers down Merida's spine. She could deal with knife wielding killers, gunmen, gang members- but fittings for dresses.... Nope. No thanks.
"You're quite toned for someone your age." Gothel muttered. "Small waist. Fairly nicely shaped breasts." Hiccup coughed, looking away as Merida's face burned.
Gothel walked away, returning a moment later with a dark green dress. "Try this on." She ordered. "The fitting rooms are that way. Leah will help you if you require any assistance." She said, gesturing to the blonde woman.
As Merida walked off, Gothel turned to Hiccup. "While she's trying her dress on, let's get you fitted into a suit." Gothel said.
After he stood up, Gothel circled him, and after her examination of him, she picked out a suit for him. "Just a hint of green, so you match with your lady friend." Gothel smirked, taking out a dark green tie.
He turned to look at his reflection in the mirror. "Nice." He remarked. The suit fit him nicely, showing off his lean figure.
Gothel gave a hum of approval, catching his attention. He turned around, and the sight stole his breath away.
Merida was standing there, wearing the dress that Gothel had picked out for her- and oh god, she looked so beautiful. The off-shoulder dress was long, pooling around her bare feet. The dark green colour contrasted with her pale skin, brought out her blue eyes, and made her hair look even more like fire than normal.
All in all, she looked unearthly- like an angel, Hiccup thought numbly.
She cleared her throat, snapping him out of his trance. "Well? What do you think?" She asked.
"You look..." He swallowed.
She glanced down at her feet, letting out a little laugh. "Ridiculous? I can barely walk without stumbling-"
"Beautiful." He cleared his throat. "You look beautiful." He said, all too aware of the blush rising to his cheeks.
Merida paused, blinking in surprise. "...oh." she said finally, trying to ignore the loud thumping of her heart.
"You look pretty handsome yourself." She said. Seeing him all dressed up felt rather weird, but the good kind of weird, she thought as she looked at him. He looked less like a broke college student now, and looked like he had walked straight out of a Kingsman movie.
Gothel cleared her throat. "Well, I'm glad that you both like your clothes." She said. "If you want, we can make some alterations to your dress, make it a little easier for you to walk in."
"Yeah...yeah," Merida said, tearing her eyes away from Hiccup, turning to face Gothel. "That would be great." She muttered.
