"Did you hear about what happened to that thief?" Tuffnut whispered.
"Who, the one who was trying to steal the princess's crown?" Snoutlout asked.
"What thief?" Hiccup asked.
They glanced at him. "Oh right, you don't know." Snoutlout muttered. "Well, new guy, a few months ago, the princess and her entourage got ambushed while they were on a forest path. And guess who shows up in the middle of it all, just in time to take a sword in his stomach for the princess?"
"Princess healed him with her powers in return for saving her life, and ordered that he be brought back to camp to recover." Snoutlout continued. "He and princess start spending time together, talking, getting to know each other..."
"Then two weeks later he gets caught red handed trying to steal the crown jewels." Tuffnut sighed.
"So what happened to him next?" Hiccup asked.
"He got dragged up to the princess's quarters, and whatever happened in there, I don't wanna know." Snoutlout shuddered.
"Did you see the body?" Hiccup asked.
Snoutlout grimaced. "I saw what was left of it."
"Yeah, well, according to Ruff- my sister, she's one of the princess's entourage- the princess didn't touch a hair on him." Tuffnut said.
"What? Then how-"
"She reversed the magic she had done on him." Tuffnut shrugged. "Probably cast some other painful spells while she was at it as well."
"Yikes." Snoutlout shuddered. "It's kinda scary how someone so petite can be so.... scary."
"Yeah, tell me about it." Tuffnut snorted. "So you better not get on her bad side, new guy."
"Yeah..." Hiccup swallowed. So it seemed like he wasn't the first one to try and steal the crown... well.
