Mericcup week 2016 part 1

"Get your hands off me!" Hiccup growled, struggling to break free of the two henchmen who were pinning him down to the ground.

"Well, well, well," Drogo chuckled, a sinister smile on his face. "Who have we here?" He said, looking down at Hiccup. Hiccup glared back at him. "So you're the one who's been messing up my plans... I must say, I expected you to be a little...bigger." he said.

Hiccup rolled his eyes at the comment. "Really, why does everyone say that?" He grumbled.

Drogo signalled his henchmen, and the two dragged Hiccup to his feet. "Where is your partner?" Drogo asked.

Hiccup glared back at him, stubbornly keeping his mouth shut. "Not gonna talk?" Drogo smirked. "I knew you wouldn't. So now we're going to have to do this the fun way." He laughed. "Tell them to bring the car around." He ordered.

"Where are we going?" Hiccup asked.

"Somewhere where your girlfriend isn't going to be able to save you."

"For the last-" Hiccup cursed. "-time, She is not my girlfriend!"

Drogo rolled his eyes. "Whatever you say." He said, punching Hiccup in the face and knocking him out. "Put him in the car." he ordered.

~

They had tied him down to a chair. Drogo stood before him, hand reaching out to touch Hiccup's face. "He's got a pretty face, this one," Drogo muttered, tilting his face to get a better look at him. He slapped his cheek lightly, and when Hiccup showed no reaction, he sighed and stepped back.

"Wake him up." he ordered.

A henchman grabbed a bucket of water, emptying its contents on Hiccup's face. He jolted awake, spluttering. "What," he groaned, blinking his eyes open. "Oh, great, it's you." he sighed. "You know, you're not exactly what people would like seeing first thing when they wake up."

Drogo growled angrily, slapping him across the face.

"I will only ask you this one time," he growled. "Where is your partner, and where is my property?"

"No flipping idea." Hiccup said. "On planet Earth, probably, unless she's figured out how to hijack a spaceship-" Drogo punched him in the gut, forcing him to double over.

"Ugh, I hate the smart mouthed ones." Drogo sighed in exasperation. "Where are they?" he asked, yanking his head back by the hair so he was looking at him.

"I thought," Hiccup coughed. "That you were only going to ask once." he said, giving him a lazy grin.

"I'm going to break your pretty face, boy." Drogo hissed.

"Aw, was that a compliment?" Hiccup laughed. Drogo glared at him angrily, slamming his head on the armrest. Hiccup groaned, muttering a curse under his breath.

"I'm not allowed to kill you, unfortunately." Drogo said reluctantly. "But that doesn't mean that I can't have some fun with you in other ways."

Hiccup watched him, an uneasy feeling in his chest as he turned away, walking towards the side of the dark room. His nose was bleeding, and he wouldn't be surprised if it was broken. He had read the files on Drogo Bludvist, and if the reports were true, he knew that he was in trouble.

At least, it seemed like they hadn't caught her yet. Not that it mattered, since she would probably be halfway to Arendelle by now with the package. On the bright side, that meant that they would probably never catch her. He sighed, lips forming a small smile.

"You're still smiling," Drogo commented. "Let's see how much longer you can smile." he said, turning around to face Hiccup. "See this?" Hiccup eyed the syringe in his hand. It was filled with a brilliant blue solution- one that Hiccup recognised, and the sight filled him with dread.

"You know what this is?" Drogo chuckled sinisterly. "My own special concoction. Once injected into your bloodstream, it will cause you to suffer unimaginable pain. Some of my initial test subjects have ended up losing their minds after a couple of doses." he said, nodding at the henchman standing next to Hiccup. He grabbed Hiccup's arm, holding him down as he started to struggle. "I hope you don't die so soon, master thief." Drogo said, injecting the solution into his arm.

Hiccup screamed.

~

When he woke up, he was lying in a hospital bed. His entire body ached and he felt utterly drained, and his throat felt dry and scratchy. He looked to the side, noticing the redhead sleeping in the chair beside his bed. "Merida," he winced at the pain in his throat.

She bolted upright, hand instantly reaching for the gun at her belt. She looked around wildly, before noticing Hiccup was awake. She lunged forward, hugging him tightly. "Thank god," she breathed.

He grimaced in pain, patting her arm lightly. She released him immediately, eyes wide with concern. He forced a small smile at her, calming her down. "I was starting to think that you were never going to wake up." she murmured, sitting back down.

"Why are you-" he started.

"Here?" she finished. He nodded.

"I thought," he winced, grimacing at the pain. "That-"

She raised her hand, cutting him off. "Don't strain your vocal chords," she swallowed. "Why else do you think I'm here? I couldn't just abandon my b-" she paused. "Partner." she said, shaking her head. "I couldn't just get on that flight and abandon my partner."

"Drogo Bludvist and his cronies- I killed most of them already," Merida continued. "So for now there probably won't be any more manufacturing or supplying of that...solution." She bit her lip, looking away.

Oh. Knowing that Drogo was dead didn't exactly make him any happier, but at least he wasn't around to make more of that solution anymore. If she knew about the solution... "I heard you screaming." She said, eyes flashing in anger. "I'm sorry that I wasn't there in time to stop them from doing that to you, and you had to endure that. Does it still..." she trailed off, glancing at him. Hiccup shook his head. She nodded, relieved.

"When Flynn told me that Drogo had caught you," she started. "You know that feeling, when it feels like your stomach drops, and you can't breathe and you freeze, because you-" she muttered a curse. "Forget it- I was terrified." she admitted. "It wasn't because I thought you were going to sell me out. I was," she swallowed. "Why is this so difficult to say?" she sighed.

"I was scared that I was going to lose you. Permanently. Because you are important to me, not just as a partner in this business, but-" She took a deep breath, looking up to meet his eyes. "I think," she paused, before continuing:

"I think I'm in love with you."

He stared at her blankly, unable to process what she had just admitted. She loved...him? Back? What? He blinked, wondering if it was possible that the solution had fried his brain so thoroughly that he was hallucinating right now.

"Hiccup? Did you hear what I just said?" she called, looking concerned by his lack of reaction.

Well, if it was a hallucination anyway...he reached his hand out, cupping her face. From this distance, he could count all of the freckles on her face. He leaned forward, pressing his lips to hers in a kiss.

If this was a hallucination, it was one heck of a vivid one.
