"having another dannon?" "No I'm good. Im going to go check on Bridie" "I'm sure she'll be alright. she has maddox" "no she has me" aziz nodded "alright".
Walking out of the kitchen through the dining room, I stopped.
Maddox was talking to Bridie at the top of the stairs while she held a brown book against her chest. That brown book, I have seen it before but where?. My mother's journal, maddox took her to my mother's room. Nothing has been touched in her room since she passed. I didn't even know where that journal was.
Keeping my eyes on both of them, maddox moved down the stairs but only three steps while Bridie put her head down. Maddox what the hell are you doing?.
Seeing Bridie take a step she then stopped for a few seconds before taking another and stopping again. What is she doing and why is she not freaking out?.
"Dannon what.." "Shh" apollo stood beside me just watching. I don't know how he is getting her to do this.
Getting to the third last step maddox was now in the foyer, his eyes never left her but she never looked up. She stopped for about a minute before taking another step then another and then stood on the foyer floor.
"You did it Bridie" Bridie never lifted her head "now you need to finish it" "maddox" "what did I say?" Bridie nodded then turned to face where the bottom of the stairs used to be. Where my mother was laying then dropped to her knees. I wanted to run to her but Maddox sat beside her. "what got you down the third last step?" "A day we went for coffee" "what happened that day?" "She spilt her coffee but instead of getting the waiter she just put her fingers over the spill and flicked it off the table saying its fine they won't know. I couldn't help but laugh. the coffee was everywhere but she didn't care" maddox Chuckled "that sounds like her" bridie nodded.
"What about now what's running through your mind, did something happen in this foyer that made you laugh?" Bridie sat quiet for a moment before speaking up.
"Actually yeah" "what was it?" "Before she got sick we were walking in the house. She was angry because a cab driver cut us off. She walked in ranting and raving then slammed the door but her jacket got caught in the door. She then had a go at the door because it ripped her jacket" both Bridie and maddox laughed while I held mine in.
"You see this foyer doesnt just hold bad memories it holds good ones too and I'm sure dinah would rather you remember those then the bad ones" "thanks maddox" maddox rubbed her back and she leant into him just like what happened with rocco.
"Now lets get up because my ass is freezing on this floor" Bridie Chuckled "so are my shins" "would you like to have a drink?" "I think I am going to put this away first" "you do that and I will make us both a drink" "okay"

Bridie headed up stairs and maddox turned around. "How'd you do that?" Maddox winked "I'm magic" I chuckled "no seriously you need to tell me" "I will but for now I need to go get us both a drink".

"That was a lot of progress" "yeah it was and I'm proud of her. I want to see how she goes coming back down" "do you think she will?" "I don't know but if she does, I'm not missing it" apollo nodded.
"I will meet you in the kitchen" "alright".
Just leaning against the arch, I looked around the foyer and couldnt help but smile. I don't know how maddox got her down but it was a massive step.
Seeing Bridie at the top of the stairs, she stopped 'come on bridie' Bridie grabbed the railing and closed her eyes. Step by step she took it slowly stopping at every step before moving to the next. Getting to the bottom, she stopped and looked around. I wasn't sure what was going to happen but then she looked this way and I couldn't help but smile.
"You did it" Bridie nodded but never said a word. Walking towards her, I pulled her in for a hug "proud of you" bridie put her arms around me and I tightened my hold then kissed her head.
"Are you joining us in the kitchen?" "No" "where are you going?" "To sit at the table" "I can join you" "if you do that, the others will too" "you can do it Bridie, they aren't going to hurt you" "let me get through this stage first" I nodded.

"Here Bridie" "thanks maddox" Bridie walked off to the dining table and took a seat. her back to the wall like always so she can see who is coming.
Walking to the kitchen, I made myself another drink.
"Maddox was saying Bridie is having a drink" "yes she is, only one though" "she won't have more than one?" "Maybe. I don't know but so far I have only seen her have one" apollo had a grin on his face and I know why.
"We need to have a bbq get everyone together" "sounds like a plan, we haven't had one for quite sometime" "nah you are right we haven't, we'll oganise it soon but first we need to find nicholas and his men" "we get nicholas, we get them" I nodded "yeah".

Bridie

"Are you comfortable here?" "Yes I am alright. So why no woman in your life maddox?" "Nah I don't need one, they only cause trouble" "is that so?" He smirked "not you" "I can especially if I see donny" "Bridie what the hell are you going on about?" "He's a fucking selfish prick maddox" "talk to me" "if it wasn't for him not speaking up, I wouldn't have had to go through hell" "he didn't tell dannon because he couldn't" "did he have a gun to his head?" "no but.." "then he should have one" "Bridie you need to think this through. I don't know what day he found out from jamee" "apollo did" maddox sat silent "apollo" maddox looked at me but I kept my attention on the kitchen entrance way.
"Bridie" "when did you hear the conversation between donny and jamee?" "Why do you want.." "when?" "The same afternoon that everything happened" I looked at maddox "now we know" "Bridie what's going on?" "Nothing. Thanks apollo" "do you need anything?" "No".
Apollo walked back into the kitchen and I kept my eyes on maddox "tell me maddox, if he spoke up would I have gone through what I did?" Maddox sat silent "yeah thought as much. He's a selfish prick and deserves that gun to his head" "bridie" looking at the kitchen entrance dannon was standing there with a look of concern on his face "is everything okay?" "Yeah just having a conversation with maddox" "about?" "The past" "why are you angry?" I just shook my head. My emotions are all over the fucking place. "Because of donny" I looked at maddox "you didn't answer me" "No you wouldn't have but.." "but what. He was afraid, a coward?" "He didn't want to hurt dannon" "right" "look he fucked up yes but he is family Bridie. you need to understand that. We all make mistakes". I could see dannon still standing there but I didn't look at him just grabbed my drink taking a sip. "That wasn't a mistake, that was him being a coward" "a mistake on his part" "a mistake?" I just shook my head. Because of that selfish prick, I lost everything. He may not have pushed dinah, he may not have hurt me but he could've spoke up. he could've stopped dannon. I lost my sanity, my freedom and a baby, oh and my chance to have more. I have a right to be fucking angry at him.
"I think you should go rest" "if I wanted to rest I would. Thanks for the chat maddox and all your help. Enjoy your drink" standing up, I walked out through the lounge to the back door then to the garage closing the door and locked it. Putting the music on loud to block everything out I then grabbed the gloves. Putting them on my hands, I tightened the straps and took my anger out on the bag. I need to release the steam. I need to get the anger out before I explode. I had to apologise to maddox. he has helped me so much and I didn't mean to yell It just makes me angry. Going to hit the bag again a hand stopped me. "Bridie" the way he said my name so softly, I knew he was trying to calm me. Turning around I looked at dannon. With out saying anything he loosened the straps and removed the gloves.
