Putting the letter from my mother in my top drawer of the desk, I stood up grabbing the three glasses taking them to the kitchen down stairs.
"Boss" "pauline, how has your day been?" "good sir" "are you done?" "Yes I will be leaving in a few minutes, I'm just doing a last minute wipe down" I nodded.
Pauline, wonderful lady. keeps her head down, always keeps this place pristine and does not get herself involved in our business. She knows of what we do but doesn't say anything and I'm thankful. I'd hate to kill a person like her for opening her mouth to the public.
Going to my room, I shut the door and changed out of my business clothes. walking into my closet, I grabbed the album of photos I put away six years ago. Even after what I thought she had done, I couldn't get rid of the photos completely. Taking the album to my bed, I sat down opening the album. The first photo was of her and I at the river. I remember that day so well like it only happened yesterday.
Tracing my finger over her beautiful face, her bright blue eyes, straight nose and pink kissable lips. Her light skin and blonde hair she is a picture of perfection. Standing in a light blue singlet and black jean shorts. My hand around her back and my finger poking at her cheek while she had the biggest smile on her face.
Taking my time looking at every single photo, for the first time in a long time, the tears ran down my cheeks. Not from just missing her but what I did to her. She was innocent, I should've known that bridie would never do that. She respected my mother, she looked after my mother, she didn't judge me on my business and yet I blamed her. Walking into the house that day, bridie was hovering over my mother and the only thing I did was yell at her. Looking back at it now she was trying to help my mother, not hurt her.
Closing the album, I put it back in my closet before going back to bed and laid down pulling the covers over me. My last thought being bridie.

"Morning sir" "morning pauline" "can I make you a coffee?" "That would be great. Just to let you know I will not be here for a couple of days as of tomorrow, so you can have those days off" "thank you sir".
I have so much to do before I go. I need to organise the transport. Apollo and I will be going by plane which is only an hour flight but to travel by car it'll take a bit longer than that. I do not have that time and when we fly back, the transport will be back the day after. I will have the warehouse ready for them. "Here you go sir" "thanks".

"Dannon" "I need transport" "when and from where?" "In two days from los Angeles" "alright, I can arrange that" "I want you to do it" "yep I will be. To your usual?" "Yep. I will send you the details of pick up location when I get it" "done. Speak then" "bye".

Finishing my coffee, I stood up taking my cup to the sink then headed to the office. i need to have a meeting with my men.
"Dannon" "meeting, let everyone know" "see you soon".
Grabbing the finances from my desk, I had a look. seems like Everything is fine on that end. I control everything anyway so if something was to happen, it would be my own fault. Everything has been going well lately. The crime rate has gone down by ten percent too thanks to my men. We have men all over the city. We not only deal in weapons, we also control the drugs in this city, stopping all the young ones selling them to under agers. We may send them out through clubs, it builds profit but I would never want them getting into the hands of someone underage.

"Boss" "good you are here. where is everyone else?" "on their way. Has everything been sorted for the weapons?" "The transportation has been I will book the flights for us shortly" "what time is callan expecting us?" "No time just the day" "that's good, are we getting accommodation or staying at his premises?" "His premises. his wife insisted" "can't mess with angelic" I chuckled "definitely not. that woman can be dangerous".
Waiting until my ten most trusted men had arrived, I then started.
"Apollo and I will be out of the city for two days. Andrei and donny make sure the hotels are running as they should. I know it's short notice andrei but jamee will no longer be running the corpal" "thats alright, I can do it and they will run smoothly" "good. Maddox and rocco you know what you need to do?" "Yes of course we'll keep everything in order" I nodded "baron and aziz make sure the streets on this end are running as they should, any issues fix it" they both nodded "that we can do" "valen and hendrix I need you two to organise the warehouse we are getting another shipment in three to fours days I will let you know exactly when, when the shipment is on its way" "done" "great and miles and gabriel I expect the clubs will run smoothly like always" "of course, if there's any issues we'll let you know" "good before apollo and I head off is there anything I need to know" "a young gang has been causing issues in the south" "give them a warning. if they don't listen, shoot them if you need to" "alright" "well if that's all, get to work. I need to finish organising a few things before tomorrow" "see you when you are back boss" I nodded. Everyone left besides apollo.
"What time are we heading off?" "Early morning if we can. I have yet to book the flights but I will have a look now" apollo nodded as he sat back in his seat.
"Did you get confirmation that jamee was in the bottom of the ocean" "yep where she fucking belongs" "I can't believe she would do that" "yeah.. alright there's a flight at ten" "perfect".
Booking in the flight for the two of us, I then sat back. "All done and ready to go" "do you need me to do anything before we go?" "Nah just got spend time with Charmaine. I'm sure she'd love it" apollo nodded "she will. I will meet you at the airport in the morning" "alright see you then".
Apollo left leaving me to print out the tickets and just think. My mind has been in a spin since yesterday. I told apollo to go spend time with Charmaine because I needed this time on my own. I don't have any more work for the day unless someone calls me.
I wish I had what he has. Charmaine is a great woman, just like bridie was. I have thought about bridie constantly but now it's playing on my mind knowing the truth. is she alive, did she survive what I did to her. If she is alive how is she and what is she doing with her life?. If she's dead, where is she buried?. Its killing me inside knowing I hurt an innocent person and not just an innocent person, the love of my life. I will never love anyone again after her.

"Callan" "dannon are you still arriving tomorrow?" "Yes the plane is booked for ten so we should be there at eleven" "great, I will have sheldon pick you up" "there's no need" "angelic insisted" "then I will see sheldon at the airport" callan Chuckled "thought you might say that. See you when you get here. Arrive on an empty stomach angelic is cooking" "oh God help me. that woman sure knows how to fill us up" callan laughed "see you then" "bye".

I have known callan for years. he is part of the family. We always help each other out and it'll stay that way. before we got into the business, we went to school together. It was only that he met angelic, he decided to move to los Angeles from San Diego to start a fresh there. Well that didn't happen. we just run in two different cities now which Is a good thing for both of us. we have more contacts and can spread out a lot further. At the start angelic wasn't happy but now it's like she runs the business. She is a very strong woman and takes shit from no one, perfect match for callan but I can only imagine what she is like when she loses her shit. that's something I never want to see.
Grabbing the tickets and everything else needed for the trip, I then left the office locking it on the way out. No one should be in the house while I am away but I am not taking any chances.
