"Thanks angelic I'm going to take this to Bridie" "that's alright".
Walking to the back door, I could hear maddox and Bridie talking.
Opening the back door quietly, I then closed it just watching the both of them.
Maddox was kneeling down in front of Bridie.
"You may not feel like it Bridie but you are. You are also family so if you ever need to talk or just need anything at all let one of us know and we'll be there for you. Speak to dannon about the way you feel he has always been there for you and nothing will change that. Yes he made a mistake one that cost you your freedom as such and him his sanity but you two make each other, you are stronger together" Bridie nodded "just try do that okay and block those thoughts out. Don't let them get to you" "I'm trying" "we know" "thank you maddox" "you are welcome" "can I...?" "Anything" seeing her hug maddox, I couldn't help but smile. it's another step for her. Maddox and Bridie used to be close years ago as well. "I'm sorry" "you have nothing to be sorry for just get better" Bridie nodded and pulled away "I will need to get your number to contact you" maddox let out a low Chuckle "I guess you will, I'm upset you don't remember it" "I'm not a memory bank" "forgiven".
"Hi you two" "hi" "hey dannon, I was just talking with this one here" "is everything okay?" "Yes" I nodded with a small smile at Bridie.
"Your breakfast" "thank you".
"I will leave you to your breakfast" "you can stay if you would like to" maddox grinned at Bridie "okay well I'm not staying on the ground" Bridie let out a low laugh and I couldn't help but smile as I took a seat between maddox and Bridie.
"What did I miss?" "We were just talking about Bridie and her progress. Assuring her that we are there for her" "thanks maddox" "as I said you are family and we look out for each other" Bridie nodded and continued to eat her food.
"What time are you heading back to san Diego today?" "Probably just before lunch. we need to get back and put the plan in motion" "hopefully you can get him before he does any damage" "yeah we will do our best, by the looks of the trackers, he has only been to four locations out of the ordinary. one of those being the warehouse" "alright just keep me updated" "we will, if you don't hear from me, it will be from apollo".
"Speaking of san diego Bridie, its been about six seven years since I have taken that boat for a run, do you feel like flipping off the tube?" "not for a while maddox. I don't know if I can go back there" "why is that?" "That place holds a lot of memories" "the river only holds good ones" Bridie nodded "it's not the river maddox, its the city" "understandable but when you DO come back, I hope I will be one of the first to know" "if I do, you will" maddox nodded "I will take what I can get. What time is john coming today?" "You know he is coming?" "He likes to do sessions two days apart. Gives you some time but also not too much. You had your session two days ago so I guessed he was coming today" "midday" "can I suggest something?" "Yes" "when your session is done just go sit by the pond or go for a nap" "the last time I went for a nap that didn't turn out to well" "what happened?" Bridie sat silent "she has been suffering from night terrors. After her session she had another" "how often do you have them Bridie?" "Now only once a week maybe once a fortnight" "did you get them a lot?" "Every night. I hardly slept for three years and due to them I couldnt work. I was staying in a shelter" "in a shelter?" "It was either that or the streets. When the night terrors started to slow down, I found a job and worked as much as I could, saving all that I could until I was able to get myself a house" just listening to her say she was in a shelter for three years, it was tearing me apart. The woman I hurt, the woman I love spent three years in a shelter suffering mentally.
"Where did you find a job?" "I was working in a warehouse making containers until I felt ready to face people then gerald hired me" "gerald?" "The owner of black cat coffee" "that's where apollo seen you?" "Yes. I had only been working there for about seven months" "was it better money than the warehouse?" "No not really just felt more comfortable. Working in the warehouse there were people working all around me. Being in the cafe the only person behind the register was gerald" "makes sense".
"Where were you living?" "In a one bedroom unit in groverton street" "one bedroom?" "That's all I needed" I nodded "that's why you only came back with a suitcase and your laptop" "I didn't need the rest of the stuff" "what stuff?" "Appliances etcetera, they were all crap anyway but did what they needed to do".
"Have you heard back from Troy?" "No I haven't looked. I need to give him time" "who is troy?" "Tattooist" "you were serious?" "Yes" maddox nodded "i hate looking at them. Before yesterday I hadn't even looked in the mirror for six years" "why not?" "I just couldn't" "and now?" "I still don't want to, it's just the images flow through my mind and I like to block them out" now I understand why she doesn't want to look at herself. Seeing her break in front of the mirror yesterday, I wasnt sure what to make of it but I needed to show her how beautiful she is and I will continue to do so.
Hearing the back door open, Bridie sat back. Keeping my eyes on her, she looked at her empty plate.
"Hey dannon, we were wondering where you two went" "just out here talking andrei, everything okay in side?" "Yeah typical angelic is feeding everyone a ton" "atleast you won't go hungry". I could see andrei keep looking at Bridie then at me. I nodded as if to say he can try.
"Hi Bridie" "hi andrei" "are you alright?" "Yes. Im just eating" "that's good".
"Im going to go" "Bridie" bridie looked at maddox "I'm just going to the pond john suggested I do it as much as I can" he nodded "do you want company?" "No that's okay you stay". Bridie got up placing her dishes on the table then walked off.
"I made her uncomfortable?" "She just isn't used to people andrei. it's not you. today was a start she managed to talk not only to myself but maddox at the same time without fear" "one step at a time. Is there anything I can do for her?" "Not right now I think she needs some alone time" "maddox time" I chuckled "you two were always very close" "did she tell you she didn't want to come back to san diego?" "she told me she doesn't think she can" "what?" I nodded at andrei as he took as seat across from me. "It has a lot of memories" "we aren't talking about all the memories are we?" "No just the ones she is struggling with" "I'm sorry to hear that hopefully you can change her mind" "it's going to take a lot of time" "I can see that. I seen how she reacted when she stood at the entrance of the kitchen" "I was hoping she would handle it but it's too soon" "she'll get there dannon" I nodded.

"Are you two coming in before we all head off?" "Yeah we better plus I need to take these dishes in" "I'm just going to go see Bridie for a minute to say goodbye" I nodded at maddox.

"Will she be alright with him?" "Yeah they were talking fine before" "good".
Walking inside, I took the dishes to the sink rinsing them.
"Why are you in my kitchen?" I grinned "I was just rinsing the dishes from breakfast" "I suppose I will let you live then. How is she dannon?" "She was speaking with maddox before I went out there" "that's great and progress" "I agree, he has just gone down to the pond to see her before everyone leaves" "do you think she will be alright?" "Yes she seemed calm earlier and was speaking with both of us out the back" "step by step, day by day. Did you spend the night with her?" "Two nights so far" angelic had a massive smile on her face "it will help her and you" "I believe it is, I have missed her tremendously" "we know".
"I better go walk everyone out" "you should and get out of my kitchen" "yes ma'am" "do not call me ma'am" I laughed as I left.
