She is definitely getting the fire back in her, something I admired. I admire everything about her though. She may look sweet and innocent but I know damn well what she is like when she gets angry and if donny goes near her, I can already see what's going to happen. If be very surprised it she doesn't lose her shit.
"Hey everyone, how did today go?" "His men are dead and so is rosa" apollo looked at me "no one got hurt?" "Not on this side" "where's nicholas?" "The bastard got away. His car is destroyed and his men are dead though" "hes weak" "yep and he is going to be in hiding". Apollo looked at Bridie.
"Why did you go back?" "To help" "she got rosa out of the way so I could go after nicholas" "you killed her?" "I didn't kill her" "she had all opportunity to" "you shot her three times Bridie she would've died with out medical care anyway" "that's an idea" I looked at Bridie as she looked at andrei making him laugh "no that will not be happening" Bridie looked at me "party pooper" I grinned. I will give her party pooper. "no but he's family you cant kill him" "I can but I won't" "I don't blame you if you do" "andrei you can't say that" "I just did. I see Bridies side, I understand why she is angry at him" maddox was just sitting quiet but then spoke "Bridie he fucked up we know that but he is family" oh here we go. it wouldn't surprise me if she just tells everyone "family looks out for each other maddox" "I understand that but as I said we make mistakes" this is not going to sit well. "Mistakes do not.." "Bridie" she looked at me then back to maddox "fine don't worry about" Bridie took a sip of her drink.
"Bridie can I speak with you for a moment?" She looked at apollo "yeah sure, in the kitchen I need another drink".

"What is it apollo?" "Why did you want to know when I over heard donny and jamees conversation?" "Maddox told me he didn't even know when you overheard it so I asked" "but why? there has to be a reason. I know you are angry at donny" "I'm angry because if he had of spoke up that day I wouldn't have lost everything apollo. I may have been hurt a little bit but I wouldn't have lost my sanity, nor my freedom" "that's not what's bothering you, it has to be more than that" I felt my walls Breaking as I looked at apollo. Turning away I put my hands on the island bench "I lost my chance of having kids apollo and I lost the baby I was carrying. An innocent baby one I could've loved and cared for. he could've spoke up, he could've stopped dannon from doing that but he didn't, he just kept it to himself because he was a coward. A coward made me lose something I always wanted, he took my chance away thats not a damn mistake" apollo wrapped his arms around me from the side "I can't even look at him apollo, I just want to kill him" turning to face apollo he tightened his hold letting me just break in his arms rubbing my back. "I know nothing can change that Bridie but we are all here for you" I nodded "it still kills me inside" "I know".

"I'm going to go upstairs" "do you need company?" "No thanks and thanks for listening" "anytime Bridie".
Pulling away from apollo, I walked straight out past the men and headed up stairs.
I needed to just relax and calm down the tears that were still falling. walking into the room, I closed the door then sat on the bed right next to the waterfall taking in the vanilla and hearing the water run.
Opening the top drawer in my bedside table, I grabbed out dinah's journal then opened it up. I'm sure she has a lot to say.

"The cancer imbedded in my bones will not stop me from living. If it takes my sight, I can always hear. if I lose my hearing, I can always feel. if I can no longer feel then i will remember. Memories never fade and I will take them to the grave"

All of these are her voice, the one she lost but she stays positive, she looks at the bright side. How did she do it? How did she stay strong when she could've crumbled like I feel like I am doing.

Looking at the next page it was a drawing but at the top of the page it said
"Be like a tree"
What did she mean by that? Continuing to look at the picture the tree was only half drawn hardly any leaves on the branches some floating in the air and some below the tree.
Be like a tree? A tree doesn't move only blows in the wind. It grows tall, it grows leaves from the branches that are alive then come the change of season when the leaves die, they fall.
Stay grounded. Connect with your roots. Turn over a new leaf. Bend before you break. Keep growing. Let the dead leaves fall. I need to sleep on it.
Closing the journal, I put it in my bed side table drawer then stripped out of my clothes and turned the light off before getting into bed and closing my eyes.

Seeing Bridie walk out, she had tears running down her cheeks and never said a word. I don't know what apollo and her spoke about but it's obviously upset her.
When apollo came out, I could see he had been upset as well.
"Everything alright?" Apollo nodded "yeah I need to go get that drink" apollo walked back into the kitchen.
"Something happened" I nodded at andrei.
She has this way of making a grown man cry. I guess whatever she said hit apollo hard.
Apollo came back out with a drink in his hand and sat down.
"You all good?" "Yeah just need a drink" "where did Bridie go?" "Upstairs she needed time on her own" "with all of us being around her that's no surprise" apollo only nodded at maddox.
"Is Bridie going to be here tomorrow?" "Yeah she should be, she didn't mention anything about going out" apollo nodded "I might bring Charmaine around it's been a long time" "she's welcome anytime" "thanks and I think it would be good for those two to catch up. Charmaine has been asking me how Bridie is and I'm sure Bridie would like some female company" "yeah she probably would".

"I better head off" "yeah it's getting pretty late. Im just going to finish my drink then do the same" "I will see you all soon" "cya maddox" "cya".
Andrei put his glass down.
"Need anything tomorrow?" "Nothing out of the ordinary" "if you do, let me know. I will see you both later" "alright cya" "bye".
"Okay now they have gone. Talk" apollo had been staring at his glass for the last few minutes.
"About?" "What did she say in the kitchen?" "Basically she wants to kill him because he took a life from her. If he had of spoke up that day it could've stopped you from doing the damage you did" I nodded "I know. it's not just killing her apollo, it's killing me to. I'm the one that fucking did it" "as Bridie said you would've stopped if he wasn't a coward and just spoke up" "he didn't know how to tell me apollo you heard him" "well as maddox calls it, that mistake cost her what she wanted. It's not the freedom, not the sanity and she already has you. She wanted a child and she can't have one. I can't imagine how Charmaine would feel if something like that happened to her. it destroyed me hearing it coming from Bridies mouth" I nodded "I know. I just don't know what to say to her" "nor did I, I just told her I know she can't change it but we'd be there for her" "thanks".
"I better get going but let me know what Bridie says tomorrow about Charmaine coming over" "she won't have a problem with it" "alright, I will see you then" "cya".
As soon as apollo left, I made sure everything was locked up then headed upstairs. Walking into the room, Bridie was already asleep. I couldn't help but just look at her. Stripping out of my clothes, I climbed in beside her and put my arm over her.
