Hey guys. It has been a while. Many of my stories have been left alone for a while now. Life happened and is generally extremely busy. But, for now, have this new little chapter and see you guys soon.
Frost listens with full attention as you tell her your nightmare.
"Seems like you're dealing with guilt."
You just look down at your hands.
"I know. But still. It felt...real."
You notice Frost is looking off into the distance.
"I know you weren't happy with what I did. With what happened. I tried being a hero and...in turn I've hurt myself. And the two women I cherish most."
She turns to look at you.
"When I find that other armor, there will be nothing left.", Frost says coldly.
"Snowflake...I'm so sorry. I should've listened. I should've returned to STAR Labs. I know it's hurt you. Can you forgive me?"
Frost immediately just wraps her arms around you.
Your eyes widen in surprise as you eventually put your arms around her.
"I'm just scared of losing you.", she says softly, her voice trembling somewhat.
"I know. But they're going to have to try harder than that to tear me away from you.", you assure her.
She smiles at you, holding your hand.
Timeskip to a couple of days later
You are finally able to be up and about again. Even though the group won't let you out of your sight for long, you're at least able to get some fresh air.
You stand on top of the building. This rooftop is...comforting.
"You know we do have a relaxation room, right?"
Caitlin has already found you. You just smile to yourself.
"True. But this view though.", you reply, a smile on your face.
She walks next to you.
"It's almost as if you haven't escaped death by mere inches a few days ago.", her voice sounding bitter.
You put an arm around her and pull her closer, kissing the side of her head.
"I know, snowflake. Don't worry. I realize I have far more help than I ever thought possible.", you reply. A sense of contentment is what you feel. Being so close to death has opened your eyes. Your friends. Your beloved. This is your family now. Even if you didn't feel like you were fitting in, it mattered little. These people cared.
"Snowflake..."
"Hm?"
"I promise you. I won't be so stupid anymore."
You turn, gently cupping her cheek. She looks at you, her eyes wide, her face red. Just like back in the beginning.
You kiss her deeply, your feeling just taking over.
After a while, you let go and smile at her.
"I love you. Both of you."
"And we love you.", she laughs softly.
Once you both go back in, you arrive in a room which just expresses stress.
Cisco is biting on his fingernail, Barry is walking around in thought, even Sherloque is apparently not foming up with anything.
"Guys? What's up?", you ask.
"What in the world is a quest?!", Cisgo yells out load.
"Uhm...it's an objective mostly given by an npc-"
"I know what a quest in a videogame is, Y/N! But how do we translate that in the real world?!"
You were stunned. These people were just taking their figuring things out, just to help you.
"Well...", you start as you go up to the whiteboard.
"An npc is mostly generated of code and data. So in our world, the only npc's would be computers or servers or what not. Cisco, is there something we could do to adapt the tech you use to track people like me and Barry?"
His face lights up as he walks over to a keyboard and starts typing away.
"Technically, the programming alone could take months. But, if we figure out the pattern of where the other armoured guy us going, we could attempt to find his pattern and run it on a smaller scale.", he starts explaining.
"He's mostly near that one bridge. So start there.", you explain.
"What are you going to do?", asks Barry.
"Training. I need to be ready. And I need to learn to communicate so...also that."
You take off to the training room as Cisco presses a button and winks at Caitlin.
As you arrive in the training room, a hologram of Cisco pops up.
"Hey man. I've got a training program set up specifically for you. Holograms galore! Go get em!"
With that his hologram dissappears and others show up, some moving, some standing still. You just summon your armor and head in.
Caitlin just leans at the door to the training area as you are giving it your all. Hologram after hologram dissappears. She smiles. Before long, the last hologram fades and you let the armor dissappear, breathing heavily. You look up to see her smiling at you. You smile back, catching your breath.
"Enjoying your new toy?", she jokes.
"Well. They are a fun way to blow off some steam. And it can let my brain adjust to an in combat situation. Short answer: yes."
She walks up to you and you just look at your feet.
"I'm sorry...about what happened."
"You already apologized. It's okay. You made a small- well not so small mistake. And you learnt from it."
She seems quite happy after all that happened.
"I meant what I said Caity. I have something to live for. Both of you."
She puts her arms around your neck as she leans against you.
"Well, you better live then. Otherwise, we won't be too happy with you." she says, a smile on her face.
You both share a small kiss as you walk back into the hallways.
Barry speeds in front of you. He looks like he's been hit by a train and then by some wolves or something! His suit was torn up, blood and bruises everywhere.
"Barry!", you yell.
He grabs your arm and looks you in the eye.
"Y/N. You have to leave. You have to leave the city. Go somewhere, anywhere!"
Fear was written all over his face. And then he passed out.
