"What is this prophecy you speak of?"

You sit in the bed, still dazed.

"It came from within our world. So it may not be as true in this world when it comes to translation.", Nemesis explained.

"Many years ago, the lands as we know them today were united as one. Man and kin knew peace and prosperity. But one day, a rift occured between the lands. Man, who had lived together peacefully and flawlessly for so long, was tainted by greed. Fights erupted all over the lands as neighbour attacked neighbour over something as futile as a parcel of land.
So hateful were they in fact, that the land itself parted into three great continents.
And that's when man learned of regret. Day and night, they labored to come up with a way and undo their mistakes and once again reunite with their kin.
But their deity, who had seen enough of their futile struggling, abandoned them and cursed their world. Besetting it by beast and monster alike.
It wasn't until recently, that strange adventurers stepped forth on each of the continents, appearing seemingly out of nowhere, to aid man in their endeavors and unite the continents as one. These heroes will uncover mysteries, slay that which opposes man and return peace to the lands."

You look at Nemesis.

"So? What does that mean?", you ask.
"That, I know not. However, I have faith that you will uncover what it means in this world. Now, I shall let you rest.", he says as he fades.

"A prophecy...", you think to yourself.
You sigh loudly, burying your face in your hands.
"I don't want to be a murderer..."
Then, all of a sudden, you felt a hand on your shoulder. You look up and see Caity standing there.
"You won't be.", she says sweetly as she sits on the bed and she hugs you.
"We'll find another way. Together.", she says softly.
"What did you hear?", you ask.
"Enough to know that it's troubling you.", she says sweetly. She softly runs her hand through your hair as you sit together on the bed.
"But it is okay. We'll figure things out. As we always do.", she says, determination in her voice.
You just hold onto each other for a few moments thinking of what to do next. Suddenly, an idea starts to form in your head.
"Of course! The questing! That's what the prophecy is about!", you exclaim.
Caity looks at you questioningly.
"When you first enter the game, you are tasked with talking to people and completing objectives. Completing these objectives would then net you exp, required to level up. That's why the first boss made me level up."
You just look at her, wide eyed, as she started to show a smile.
"There you are.", she said.
"We need to tell Cisco, he can help us figure this out."
As you try to get out of the bed, you are pushed back by Caity.
"Not now, you won't. You need to rest."
"But...", you start, but she's quick to stop you.
"No buts. I'm not having my boyfriend get up, wounded like that. You're resting until it is safe for you to get up. Doctor's orders."
Among the sass in her voice, you hear concern. She obviously feels scared that something might happen to you. And that something did happen. As she walks off, you grab her hand.
"Caity..."
She turns to look at you.
"I am so so sorry. For scaring you like that. I promise. I'm not tackling anything like that alone anymore."
She holds your hand and and smiles. "You better not. Frost wasn't all too happy. Just...stay safe. For us. Please."
"I will.", you smiled. She let go and walked away, off to tell Cisco the information.
You just laid back in silence for a little while, closing your eyes to get some rest.

You sit in a dark room. You hear the ticking of a clock.
Tik.
Tok.
Tik.
Tok.
You were seated at a desk. As you look on it, there's a paper that reads in large dark bloody letters: "Murderer"
You toss it away.
"I'm not a murderer. I've become better than that.", you whisper to yourself, trying to put yourself at ease.
You suddenly hear the sound of a crayon, writing. You look up and see a blackboard, as a floating crayon writes a letter M rather swiftly.
You try to get up but watch as the chair almost coils around your arms and legs, keeping you in place.
"I've changed!", you yelled.
The crayon goes on to write the letters U and R.
You try to squirm agains the chair, as the crayon continous to finish the word.
'MURDERER'
You yell, you scream. You shake violently against the chair, making it tumble over. You get out and rush up to the blackboard, wiping the word off. You take a breath of relief, turning around. Only to find that the walls now have crayon all over them, repeating the same word. Murderer.
You just sink down against the wall.
"You..."
A long, slurred voice hushes besides you. You turn and jump away as you see a skull passing through the wall next to you. It looks blackened, scorched and filled with holes.
"Murdered... me..."
"You were going to kill my wife!"
You attempt to summon a weapon. Anything. But nothing happened. You had no powers.
"Murderer..."
"You're just as much a murderer as I am!!", you scream, walking backwards, step by step.
You feel your back touch the wall and in the next second, a thousand mangled arms grab you. Your eyes widen as they envelop your mouth, muffling your screams and pulling you back into the darkness.

"NO!", you yell as you wake up in a sweat. It was just a nightmare. But not to you. It felt so real.
You feel a hand on your shoulder. Frost.

"Hey.", she says softly.
Your breathing starts to slow down a little bit. She hadn't gone home. It was night already, you had slept for a while.
She wipes at your cheek with her thumb.
"You're crying.", she says softly. "Bad dream?"

"Yeah. You could say that.", you whisper.
