Nearly a full two years later

Spoiler alert!!!

You have been warned!!!

Right. So, I don't necessarily feel like rewriting nearly all of the episodes of the show so I'm going with you being in a long coma. Longer than Barry Allen. You'll be waking up around the whole Cicada deal.

The sheets felt soft. The sun danced its soft light into your slowly opening eyes.

You looked around and saw you were in a hospital bed.

A nurse came in and saw you were awake.

"Ah. Good morning there."

She looked a bit older, couldn't be more than 50 though. The slowly increasing grey in her Auburn hair and the wrinkles on her forehead and the sides of her mouth would say that much.

"Good morning. How...long was I out for?"

"According to your records that would be about...2 years."

She grew silent after that, letting those words sink into your mind.

"Two...years? Out?"

"It's actually very funny you stayed out this long. The people over at S.T.A.R. Labs paid for all your medical bills. They seemed really keen on trying to keep you alive as best as they could. It's a small miracle you are alive."

You see the smile on her face, genuine, kind. 

"What do they want with me?"

"Well you'll be figuring that out soon mister L/N, because one of their representatives will be showing up to check on you soon. They've done so as much as they can in these past two years, as their job would permit of course."

Two years. You don't even properly hear the last things the nurse said. Two years. That makes you...27 now. Two birthdays just gone like that. Even closer to thirty.

"I will leave you for now mister L/N. Welcome back."

And so she steps away.

You slump back into bed. You see water and food prepared next to you, which you gladly take and consume, considering how long you were out.

It is an hour later when this lady walks in. Light brown long flowing hair, tall, looking around your age. Her brown eyes fall on yours and nearly instantly her red-lipsticked lips curl upwards into an excited smile, for just a second. 

She seems to compose herself as she walks closer to the side of your bed.

"Hi. My name is Caitlin Snow. I'm a representative of S.T.A.R. Labs. It's really good to finally see you awake."

Her voice seems...familiar. Though your mind seems very clouded at the moment. So clouded that you don't instantly answer, you just sit there and admire her.

"Well, it is clear that the time you've been in a coma has an effect on you. Which is very understandable."

"No, I'm sorry. I'm just...coming to terms with it is all. Ms. Snow?"

"Oh, please call me Caitlin."

"Caitlin. It's a pleasure to meet the person who has gone out of their way to keep me alive."

"Well Y/N, it's not just me who has taken the decision. There is something we ask of you."

She shifts a bit uncomfortably, folding her hands together then stretching them and shifting her weight on her other leg.

"You see, the Particle Accelerator has...affected people in many different ways. We would like to run some tests on you for further reference. In order to do research on what the effects could be per individual. The doctor has cleared your leave in three days so I came here to ask if you would help us in these tests."

She hands you a card that has her name and the S.T.A.R. Labs address written on it.

"Sure. I doubt I still have my job anyway, so I might as well do something helpful. I'll be there when I can, Caitlin."

"We'll be happy to see you then, Y/N."

It is at that moment her phone seems to emit an alarm.

"Oops, gotta go. A colleague is...asking me to review some groundbreaking results with him ASAP. I'll see you soon then, Y/N."

She hurriedly seems to turn and run out.

You just lay there looking at the card.

"Caitlin Snow. S.T.A.R. Labs. What am I getting myself into? At least she's really cute."

"Oh, she most certainly is."

You see the nurse with a sly smile just looking in.

She throws you a wink and seems to continue her shift with the grin on her face.

You just lay back and let everything that just happened sink in a bit.
