You were walking around the venue. You were keeping an eye out for Frost as well and would often steal glances at her. God, she looked gorgeous in that dress.

You went around the first floor, running into different people but not really any problematic things.

At least you had hoped so.

"Well, well, well. Color me surprised."

That voice. No. It couldn't be. In an instant, thousands of different scenario's just rushed through your mind. You could walk on, pretend nothing happened, you could turn and get a punch in early, you could start talking to a random passerby, you could find Frost. But none of that you did. You decided to turn around.

There he stood. A smug smile on his face. A white suit. His arm around the one girl you wished you would never have to see again.

Rick.

"Hey Y/N. Long time no see. I wasn't expecting someone like you to show up here."

You didn't want to deal with this. But you had to.

"Rick. Stop whatever it is you're doing."

"Oh come on. Are you still holding a grudge now? We're adults now, aren't we?"

You looked at the girl. The same smug smile dressed on her face. If there were someone you wish you could send to hell, they'd be the first on your list.

"Look Rick. I'm not up for this. I'm done with all this. Live your life, I'll live mine."

"Will you? How about those marks on your back?"

You were turning around, but those words made you stop. You could feel those words sting as if the poker was burning into your skin again.

"Come on Y/N. That was just a joke. Lighten up a little."

He started laughing. You wanted to hurt him. It would be so easy. You could get rid of him in a flash and no one would notice a thing. But should you? Really?

"You zoned out on me, Y/N? You haven't changed a thing ever since high school. With your little flower in your hand."

You turned to face him. You got up to him. His smug smile never leaving his face.

"Rick. Back. Off. I have taken time and effort to move on from it all. So why haven't you?"

He seemed to be taken aback by this.

"Have a good evening. Both of you."

You turned around and started walking off. Emotions started flooding you. That's when you felt a tender, chilly hand on your shoulder.

"Y/N?"

You turned to see Frost there.

"Hey. I was looking for y-"

She hugged you tightly. In an instant, all of that emotion, that anger just disappeared. You put your hands on her hips.

"Thank you.", you whispered.

"Y/N. I saw and heard most of that. I wanted to kill him then and there."

"Heh. Me too."

"Why didn't you?"

"Because. I didn't have to. I've got you. Doing so would only separate us.", you smiled.

She smiled and kissed you deeply.

"Now, besided that jackass, I've got nothing else to report on my end. Have you seen or heard anything?"

"No. Seems like this date might just happen without any issues.", she responds with a smile.

You offer your hand with a soft bow. "Then, Miss Frost, would you walk with me back downstairs and grant me this date?"

She bursted out in a laugh. "What level of cheesiness can't you achieve?", she laughed.

She took your hand, still giggling somewhat. As you two went back downstairs, forgetting entirely about the incident that just happened, you arrive in this big ballroom, adorned with lights, different tables set up for guests to get some snacks here and there and an orchestra of a small group of people playing music.

You looked at her and saw her eyes just light up. It looked as if she was a child, who just found this grandiose and amazing thing who's now taking this all in.

You guided her further into the room, never letting go of her hand. You both got another drink and before you started drinking it you held the glass up, looking her in the eyes.

"To us. To the woman who has given me so much, even when I was knocked out most of the time."

She blushed slightly at that. "To us.", she responded softly.

The orchestra was playing a slow song and you saw couples inviting their partner out to the ball floor. You held out your hand in a similar fashion to her.

"May I have this dance?", you said, chnaging your voice to avery formal one.
She giggled and then took your hand. "You may." She responded in a mocking voice.

You led her out to the dance floor and held her hips as she laid her arms around your shoulders.

And there you were. Just the two of you. Enjoying each others company. Swaying softly to the music.

"I swear to god, if I now wake up and this all just a cruel dream..." you said with a smile.

This earned you a laugh, fter which she held you closer.

"It's not. It's a dream come true.", sje whispers in your ear.

"Now look who's cheesy.", you replied with a smile.

"I mean it.", you hear her voice had gotten more serious now.

"Then I'm really glad your dream had me in it. Because I feel like this is the best place to be in in this dream. Close to you. Holding you in my arms.", you replied, sounding somewhat dreamy.

She pulled back a bit, to look you in the eyes.

"Are you having a good date?", you ask?

"The best", she replied

Those words made your heart leap. She pulled closer again as you both just enjoyed the music and each other.

"Have I told you I love you?", you asked jokingly.

"Just ten times today already. But who's keeping count?", she replies in a similar fashion.

"Well, I'm gonna say it anyway. I love you. So much."

"I love you too, Y/N. Never forget that."

And you just swayed further into the night.
