Hey everyone. I just wanted to thank everyone for the kind comments over the last few months. I have been slow to update as life is just really busy. Not to worry. I have not forgotten about writing and will continue to do so. Thanks again! Hope you enjoy.

You all stood around the lab. Barry was lying on the bed you were in not too long ago. You were looking into the room, deep in thought, as Caitlin and Cisco were checking his wounds and trying to keep him stable.
What could have done this? These wounds...he looked as if he had seen a ghost or something.

"Hey. You okay?"

You look up, snapping awake from thibking deeply. Caitlin has made her way out towards you. She looks concerned.
"I don't know."
You didn't know at all. Barry wanting you to leave? That made no sense. That would mean you'd leave this family behind. You cared about these people. Leaving...it wasn't an option.
"Do we know where the wounds came from?",  you ask.
"No. Though, once he wakes up, we'll ask him."
You had an inkling of what it might've been. Or rather who it might've been.
"He couldn't get to me. So now he's going after all of you."
Caitlin looked at you in surprise.
"You don't know that.", she says.
"Maybe not. But how much of a coincidence is it?"
"Too much. Astute observation, mr. Y/N.", said Sherloque.
"Though I wonder. What prompts a villain as him to make such rash decisions?", he asked.
"He wants to lure me out. Or hurt me."
"Or. He is simply afraid."
I looked at Sherloque. Such simple explanations were not how he would normally 'solve' a case.
"He's got a point.", Ralph said as he walked in.
"An animal who's cornered is more likely to lash out than one that's left alone."
"He took me out in a few seconds flat. He's not scared at all.", I respond
"Not of you. But of us figuring something out. Man will do anything to keep their secrets. Especially if they are important. To harm and kill you and yours, is to safeguard his secret for him. Or her. Or them. Who knows."

Cisco then walked out of the medical bay.
"He's stable but he will be resting for a little bit. In the meantime, come with me, all of you."
He walked over to the main computer and laid the map of the city before us.
"I've been researching this MMO of yours, Y/N. Try and find a way of helping you forward. This is the map of the city."
He started to tap on a few more keys.
"And this...is the game's world."
The map of the game showed up besides it.
"Wait...why does a part of the game map look like...", you stopped.
Cisco overlayed the map and turned it. There laid a perfect overlay of the map of the city under the game's map.
"Turns out, one of the developers lives around here. And guess where one of the main quests is given."
A ping was shown on the map. "That's his place."

Without a second thought, you started walking out of the lab.
"Y/n! Wait! You're not fully rested."
You turn to see Caitlin following you.
"You're right. I'm not. But we can't send anyone else. I need to do this, Caitlin. The sooner this is over, the better."
Her face turned to one of sadness. It hurt seeing her like that. You walked back up to her and put your hand on her cheek, pulling her closer with your other arm.
"But I promised to be safe. So get a communicator. I'll need a direct line with home. Home being primarily you two.", You smiled.
She seemed to brighten up a little with that and went to get a communicator.
As she returned, she inserted it into your ear and looked at you with a half-smile.
"Don't worry.", You said. "I'll always come back to you. Always."
You kissed her softly and then summoned the armour as you took off on the hoverboard.

Timeskip

"Okay. The building should just be on your right."
Cisco and Caitlin had guided you on your way there.
You now stood in front of the door. It had no name or real recognition of this developer. It looked just like a plain old appartment house.
"You sure? Looks pretty normal to me."
"Positive. Just ring the bell and see if he'll open up."
You did as you were told and you heard the bell through the door. You stood out there a few minutes and rung it again. The second time the door opened and this japanese looking man looked through the door.
He looked extremely aware of his surroundings.
"I have nothing to do with it! Understood?!", he yelled.
"Whoa. Easy. I'm just here to talk with you."
"Listen, I didn't set Grak free and no, I do not know who defeated him. Just leave me alone!".

He swung the door closed but you held it open, your hand covered in the armor.
"I defeated him.", You said solemnly.
He looked as if he had seen a ghost and walked backsards into the house.
"I only want to talk. I'm trying to make sense of everything, just as you are doing."
He gasped and then pulled you inside, closing the door.

"You defeated him...", he repeated.
"Yes. I got the game's powers so...it just felt right."
"Please. Don't act so noble. I've heard of the murders you committed!", he spoke, his voice increasing in volume.
"That wasn't me. There's another out there. Just like me. And he's killing innocents! He says it's for XP. But...I want to stop him. So I need XP in the normal way. Whatever that means in this situation."

"Answer me one question. What does the Nemesis class stand for."

"To shield the helpless. To fight for those who can't. To protect what is pure from corruption."
It felt as if you had drilled the sentence into your mind. You were taken aback yourself. How did you know this without...well, actually knowing?
"That is correct.", The man said softly.
"We have much to discuss. Please."
He pointed to a chair and we spoke.
Yoshima was his name. He had been developping most of the main quest for the game. I asked him questions on what the next quest would've been.
His words sounded a bit more ominous than I would have liked.
"The temple of Khaz D'Ul."
