You sat in the cell. Your mind was realising that Frost or Caitlin might never wake up. If they didnt perform a blood transfusion she would-
"Y/N"
You heard a voice you hadn't heard in a while. You looked into the glass and saw not your own reflection, but the armor.
"What? Are you going to scold me as well?", you said.
"No such thing. I am merely here for guidance."
"Guidance? How are you going to guide me?!"
"A mistake is easily made. You require redemption."
"Redemption?! Look at us! They locked us up! We are now the bad guys! They see us as villains!"
"And are we, Y/N? Do you believe you are evil?"
The question silenced you. You didn't believe you were evil. But did that count.
"I don't believe I'm evil. I just...I just wanted her to be safe."
"So you acted out of love? Not only for Caitlin or Frost but also for the girl who died in your arms?"
"I wanted to make sure he couldn't harm anyone anymore."
The armor just nodded.
"Then redemption is most certainly an option."
You sighed loudly.
"That's not going to happen. They've locked us up. And now because of my mistake they'll probably never wake up again."
There was no response. Apparently the armor had said its piece. You went to sit down as suddenly the cell moved again in front of the door. Iris and Cisco stood there as the cell opened.
"Y/N.", Iris began. "We don't condone what you've done. It was...", she couldn't seem to find any words.
"Foolish?", you asked.
"Let's go with foolish.", Cisco intervened. "But that's not what we're here for. Barry is out for now. And we want to make sure Caitlin and Frost survive this."
"We're gonna need you for the transfusion."
You looked at them speechless.
"But Barry..."
Iris stopped you. "Makes mistakes as well. Just like you have. But that shouldn't be at the cost of one of our friends."
You walked with them.
"Guys...thank you...I-I don't know what to say."
"Just say thank you and hope this works." Cisco says.
"Thank you."
You went back to the core. There she laid in a bed, still in a comatose state.
You walked to her side as Cisco and Iris were preparing everything.
"You guys know how to perform this?"
You didn't take your eyes off her for a second. But for some reason, you couldn't bring yourself to hold her hand.
"We've done so with Caitlin a couple of times before. Some meta's were really vicious.", Iris explained.
You pondered for a bit.
"Do you guys believe I can still redeem myself? That I can show I'm no bad guy?"
The room went silent.
You turned to them, tears still rolling down your cheeks.
"You aren't the bad guy.", Cisco said.
Iris followed up immediately.
"Caitlin wouldn't love you like she does otherwise."
You turned to look at her. It had to be true. She did love you.
"Let's do this."
Timeskip after the transfusion has been going for a while.
You sat in a chair next to her. You had fallen asleep as the transfusion was taking place.
You woke up with a groan. You hated needles.
It has been a few minutes already. Still no change on her.
You turned to the door to the core.
"Yo Cisco! Any changes yet?"
"Nothing yet.", he replied simply.
You looked back at her. She seemed peaceful. You got up, carefully. You didn't wanna harm the procedure. Walking up toward her you felt a lot of feelings at once.
Love, sadness, guilt, pride. It all started to build inside you.
You stood next to her bed.
"Snowflake. I'm not sure if you can hear me. But I made a mistake."
You started talking. For a moment, everything around you seemed to fade away, leaving just you and her.
"I've killed a man.", your voice nearly cracked as you started speaking. "I've killed the bastard who did this to you. Because he took a life right after threatening yours. Death was meant for me. Not for that person. Not for you."
Tears started to roll down your face as you spoke.
"I'm not a hero. I told you I wasn't."
You moved your face closer to hers.
"But I want to become one. For you. I want to redeem myself to be worthy to call you mine."
Unbeknownst to you, Cisco and Iris were in the doorway, hearing everything you said.
"Barry's put me away. In the pipeline. Iris and Cisco helped me out here in order to do this. I just want you to wake up. I know I've done something horrible and that it could mean losing your love."
Silence befell you after saying those words. You realized that was a possibility. You breathed again, trying to keep talking.
"But regardless, I had to make sure that my stupidity wouldn't take your life. I'm sorry, Snowflake."
You started to sob softly. "If Barry gives me another chance. If the City gives me another chance. I promise. I'll be better."
You stayed there crying your tears. Cisco got your attention.
"Y/N. Her vitals are back to normal. She's bound to wake up in an hour or so. But ahm..."
You looked back at him.
"I know. I have to go back to my cell. I will. It's fine.", you said giving a soft smile to them. You turned again to Frost.
"I love you. Both of you. With everything that I am and ever will be."
Cisco and Iris made sure you were no longer hooked up. You kissed Frost's forehead, still feeling pained to see her in this state. Even though she'd wake up soon you couldn't help but feel responsible for this.
Then you walked away with Cisco and Iris, as they brought you back to your cell.
This may not have been much. But it's a start. Your mind was made up. You were gonna change. For her.
