Before this chapter starts, I'd like to give a word of thanks to everyone who's been supporting this story, as it is the very first story I've ever started writing. The amount of reads I've gotten right now, it's an amount I've never expected. So thank you, to you reader for enjoying this work and the upcoling chapters.

You wake up in Caitlin's home, on the couch. You sit up and look around. You feel under your shirt, but no cut. No blade. Nothing.

You look around the room. "Caity?", you call. No response. You get up as the floorboards creak with each step.
You look around but there is no one there.

"Y/N"

You hear a familiar voice behind you. You look behind you and see the suit of armor stand behind you.

"Am I dead?", you ask.
It shakes it head, it's metal clanging softly.

"Where are we?"
"A place I wanted to show you."
"Caity's appartment?"
"I sense you wish to make brash decisions. To think with your powers before thinking with your brain. So,-"

The door behind you opens revealing a very distraught Caitlin. Her makeup has run over her face, indicating that she has been crying. Out of reflex, your walk up to her.

"Caity? Caity, what's wrong? Talk to me-"

As you say these last words, she just passes through you, and walks towards the cupboard. You now notice that the cupboard holds 2 unlit candles, each set upon one of the edges. And in the middle, there stands a picture, of you and her, smiling together. She goes ahead and lights the candles.

"Hey.", she says, her voice sounding fragile, drenched in sadness and grief.
You walk up next to her, looking at her.
"You know, it's weird for me to do this.", she starts. "But I just...I just really miss having you around and talking to you and loving you. And feeling how you loved me."

You get on your knees next to her, but she doesn't notice you at all.

"Frost hasn't talked to me or come out for anything else but fighting. She's taking it pretty bad. We all are."

"Caity... I'm right here.", you wave a hand in front of her. No reaction.

"She doesn't blame you. For trying to face him alone. For trying to not get us involved. But she and I wish...we wish that you had. So that we could've done something. So that we didn't have to see you... see you di-"

With those words, she breaks down. Any attempt to hold her, to soothe her are for naught, as your arms simply pass through her.
With that the room, the furniture, the floor and Caitlin fade and you are standing in what seems to be a white void.

"These are merely logical assumptions, should you act the way you are thinking now.", the armor says, now standing behind you again.

"I'll be...dead?"

"Very possible.", it responds.

You just saw Caitlin mourn you. The sight of it broke your heart to its core.
You turn to the armor.

"Trust on your friends. It is the only way for us to survive. For the future to remain bright."

You get up and look at it.

"But what if she dies? What if Barry dies? Cisco? Welles? Iris?"

"If you trust in them, they will trust in you. This works both ways, in turn making each of you stronger."

You start to hear what seems like a slow beeping sound.

"It is time for you to wake, Y/N. Think on this moment."

And with that, your vision returns to black.

Timeskip

You slowly open up your eyes. Man, that is some headache. You try to sit up, but are pushed back down by Caitlin. She seems to have been crying, indicated by her eyes, which seem to be filled with red.

The vision you just had briefly flashed in your mind. And you felt fearful, thinking it might have come true. So you quickly go and grab her arm which does actually work now. You felt as if a weight alleviated from you as you slowly carressed her arm and hand.

"Hey.", you say softly, with a smile.

"Hey.", she says the same way, her loving eyes and smile directed towards you.

"I need to apologize.", you said softly.
"What for?"
"For trying to face him alone. I thought that with the powers I've gotten, that I could just show up and stop him. Before he could get to you or anyone of us."

She listens with a smile and lays her head on her arm as she smiles at you.

"But I forgot. I forgot to think. Which shows that you are the smarter one in this relationship.", you joke.
"I forgot that if he does anything to me, because of my rash thinking, he will do exactly that. He will get to you through hurting me. It's happening now.", you softly place a hand on her cheek, wiping away some remaining tears.

"I'm not doing this alone anymore. We're a team. I'm sorry for making you this worried, Caity. And you especially, Frost."

She just smiles as she wipes away some tears. "She says she'll make you pay it off later."

"Agreed.", you say with a smile.

"For me, you're forgiven. So long as you don't make anymore brash decisions like these.", Caitlin says as she softly places her lips on yours.

"Promise.", you say softly when she lets go of the kiss.

You hear a cough and see the usual gang standing at the entrance. You turn to Caitlin.

"They heard everything, didn't they?", you ask with a smile.

"Everything.", Barry says as he enters the room.

"It's good to know I don't have to scold you, that you found out the problem yourself. Seriously though. You are connected to our comms. Just contact us. Okay?"

"Gotcha. So how long am I bedridden?", you ask.

"Just a couple of days. Your powers seem to heal everything quite rapidly.", Caitlin says.

"And I'll be by your side. We still have a wedding to talk about.", she says lovingly.

"As long as Frost doesn't want to punch me in the face, I'd say that's a great deal.", you reply, feeling the warmth of Caitlins hand on yours.

"She says 'No promises.'."; Caitlin says with a smile.

The gang leaves, happy to see you alive and well, giving you and Caitlin some space.
