Apathy

Your eyes had widened. An unmoving straight look on your face.

A voice yelled at you in your ear. Cisco. Talking about your vitals. But you did not care.

You looked Rick straight in the eyes.
He seemed to doubt for a second. But it was pointless. Your objective, your goal, it had been set when Stephanie gave her last breath.

"Come.", you said. You allowed the word to be spoken softly yet with a firm undertone.

His head tilted to the side.

"You think I'll hesitate to kill you? I could go after your girl first. I'm sure her and I could have a great chat."

You waited. He had to make his move first. You'd allow him that. He laughed loudly. No change from you. Cisco kept yelling to stop. But it was too late.

Rick made his move. He jumped up and threw a vial at you. You summoned something as ordinary as a tennis racket and simply bumped it back at him.

He caught it with some difficulty as he  did not expect this, landing clumsily behind you. You hadn't moved an inch from your spot.

"You fool! I'll kill you for that!" He went to smash the bottle into the back of your head, which you stopped by summoning a metallic hand which grabbed his wrist. Looking back at him you ordered it to twist and break his arm.

*crack*

He screamed out in pain. You next summoned a warhammer which bumped him all the way back, breaking some ribs in the process.

He heaved as he recovered, getting back up on his feet. You promptly summoned a gun, firing bullets at him, which started to pile on. Of course he wore a bulletproof vest. But that wouldnt save him.

He seemed to try and catch his breath.

"Is that it?", you asked? No response.

"Very well. Then I'll make sure to make you suffer."

Your eyes, which were lighting purple at the time, now flared a bright red as you screamed out. A large demon appeared behind you, leaping for him and grabbing his tiny body into his hands.

"You're not getting away!", you screamed. You subconciously lade the demon break his legs. Two loud cracking noises were heard. The demon dissipated and he now fell to the ground, very much unable to run away.

"For my past.", you said.

A few spears apoeared and instantly tore through his body. Another huge robotic hand fell on top of him as he screamed out.

"For Stephanie.", you said louder now. You summoned a form of laser machine, which envelloped his entire body with the heat of the sun.

"For my friends!", you yelled now.

A greatsword impaled his chest. And then another. And another. He still drew breath and screamed his lungs out.

"For my snowflake!!"

A fireball went his direction and exploded into a huge slice of hell!

"Y/N!!", you hear Barry yell behind you.

He was hurt badly. He looked very scared and concerned. You looked back to Rick. Or at least the husk that remained of him. You seemed to calm down. Your eyes returned to their normal color.

Your legs felt soft as you fell to your knees. Barry walked up to you.

"What did you do?", he asked.

"I feel...so tired.", was all you could say before you blacked out. Barry looked over to the husk falling over and blood seeping from it. He picked you up and carried you away.

Timeskip to when you wake up

You open your eyes. The room seems very metal, with a glass panel in front. You recognized this. The pipeline. Before you stood Barry, walking back and forth.

He looked at you. His face still concerned, just like at the airport.

"What happened, Y/N?"

You looked down to the floor as you sat up.

"I had to witness again how I failed. I couldn't save Stephanie.", you said softly.

"So you go haywire? You destroy the one who kills her?"

"Wouldn't you?", you said coldly.

He lowered himself and sat down in front of you.

"I'm sorry, Y/N. I know what you're going through. I had the same thing happen to me with Savitar.", Barry said, sitting down in front of the pipeline cell you were now in.

"Will she wake up?", you asked, coldly.
He hesitated.

"We're not sure. But what you've done today...I'm not sure if we can ever release you. That's not how we work."

"Too bad.", you responded. "He should've left her alone."

With that, Iris walked in behind Barry.

"I've talked to a few people. They want it to become the new cover.", she said.

"What cover?", you asked.

"The fact that a superhero just murdered a meta.", Barry explained.

"The media loves to jump onto that.", Iris said.

You put your hands on your eyes as tears started to well up.

"I just...I just wanted to save Caitlin... I wanted to be able to at least do something.", you said.

With that a realization hit you.

"Barry! Did you perform the blood transfusion?"

"What blood transfusion?"

"Stephanie told me. Before she died. Caitlin can wake up by blood transfusion. Please tell me you already performed it."

"Y/N, we didn't know. We'll have to check blood types."

"We have the same type!", you blurt out.

"She said so during one of the tests the first day I arrived. Please Barry! Take all of my blood if you must. Leave me in the pipeline for eternity! But at least let me do something right. Please."

Your fists were against the glass panel. Your face had a few tears running down over your cheeks.

Iris looked at you with a face as if she knew what you were going through. But Barry's answer hurt far more than anything Rick had thrown at you.

"I can't let you out. You've made a grave mistake."

You looked at him in disbelief. He walked away and closed the door as Iris looked at him in alarm and went to catch up to him.

"Barry...Barry, please! I can't lose her! Barry!!"

And the door closed.
