The people of Paris are told to stay at home as there was another Akuma attack on their beloved city. Ladybug landed gracefully in front of the museum.
"Chat, where are you?" she asks him over the communicator.
Volpina and Carapace parted from her a few minutes ago to find the Akuma faster, but Chat Noir never showed up.
There was a bleep; he finally answered, "I am at the west wing of the museum; come here quickly,"
She was taken aback by his request but didn't question, "Alright, I'll be there in a moment,"
"Thanks,"
Chat Noir was standing in a vast hallway; a thoughtful yet conflicted expression grazed his features. He tied his hands behind his back; with a sigh, he went over every detail of his master plan. His cat-senses registered that someone has entered the hall, "I've been waiting for you for quite some time," his voice echoed through the vast hall, stopping Ladybug in her tracks.
"Is there something wrong, Chat?"
He turned to face her, "yes, there is something wrong," she noticed he looked paler than usual, "I dont know how to tell you this, Ladybug, but..." his voice trembled.
Ladybug looked at him, concerned.
"It's okay," she placed a gentle hand on his shoulder, "if you can't tell right now, I will be here when you are ready." She gave her an assuring smile. It was the same smile as the girl he met on a balcony and fell in love. Something cracked in his heart; She is too pure like Emma. He has broken Emma's heart; he has to put his first true friend in danger and betray her trust now.
"Thank you, Ladybug," he pulled her into a hug; she hugged him back.
Ladybug stepped back, "I should ask others if they have found any leads--- What?? Where did my Yoyo go?!" she looked around her waist; there was nothing where her Yoyo used to be.
"I am sorry, Ladybug" she looked at her partner.
"Why are you sorry---" she looked at his hands; he was holding her Yoyo, "Chat, give it back, it's not funny." She said in a stern voice.
"It's not, I know," He drew his baton from behind his back.
"What are you doing? are you under Akuma's influence?!" she was in panic.
"I am not under anyone's influence," she tried to get it back; he grabbed her hands before they could reach the Yoyo.
"Let go, Chat,"
"no," she kicked him hard; he stumbled backward but balanced himself as she was about to reach for her Yoyo.
He grabbed her hand and threw her to the floor. Chat tried to punch her; she stopped him mid-distance.
"Why are you doing this, Chat?" He pinned her down; Ladybug used all her strength to knock him off of her.
"Isn't it obvious, Ladybug?" She narrowed her eyes, "I want your miraculous."
"Why?" He attacked her, "I want the power, Ladybug; the prestige that comes with using the miraculous,"
"I won't let you have my miraculous, Chat,"
"Look at you; you have no power over me," Chat mocked her; He used his baton to knock her out cold.
Chat scooped her up, "I am sorry," he sprinted out of the museum with sheer determination and his destination in mind.
At the Joseph household:
"I can't believe how easily you manipulated your son," Kagami stirred her tea, "It makes me wonder how much you've played with people just like a pawn in chess," Kagami's expression was neutral, turmoil of emotions was wrecking her insides.
