After the two teens were out of sight Flint pulled Carolina, dragging her inside an alley.

"What was that all about?" he hissed.

"What do mean?" she responded innocently.

"don't feign innocence, tell now what is going on inside your brain,"

"Alright, I like you I was not lying," she pulled her arm out of his grip.

for some reason, Flint couldn't believe he, maybe his gut feeling was telling him it was not the whole truth.

"Tell me the truth!" he almost yelled, his calm and collected demeanor slipping.

"What? is that not enough for you,"

"No, Carol there is an alternative motive there and you are going to tell me now."

"Alright, I was getting back on them." Flint narrowed his eyes at the girl.

"It's her isn't it?" Carolina looked at him with surprise, "What do you mean?"

"You are jealous of Emma Agreste," he stated.

"What If I am?!" she waved her hands in the air, "Emma this, Emma that, she is so perfect, Everyone is smitten to her. first Jaden," she looked at him, "...and now you too."

his eyes grew wide, 'am I that obvious?'  but he covered his expression with disdain.

"I don't know what you are talking about," he tore his gaze from her and looked at the wall.

"Deny all you want, Flint, but I know for sure now that how much you like her." she gave a shallow laugh.

"What you did back there it was because you," he pointed his index finger at her, "...were trying to make him jealous, it was not only because you disliked Agreste Jr." He smirked when he saw all the color drain from her face.

"you are right," she sighed, "that why I need your help, Flint because it's a win-win situation." she smiled slyly at him.

"What do you mean?" He very well knew what she meant.

"don't play dumb, Flint, you know what I am talking about,"  she is not as feeble-minded as he thought she was.

"If I want her more than a friend I will go for it, not make some ridiculous schemes." he tried to walk away.

"Flint, stop!" she pulled him back.

"look, I know it's not the best plan but I need your help, please," her eyes welled up with tears.

Flint cursed his luck, he thought about,  "Alright, I will do it not because I want Agreste Jr. just because I want to help you," but deep inside his mind, a voice said otherwise.

"Thank you, Flint!" she hugged him, "you just play along with me I'll handle the rest,"

As Carolina left with a smile so bright that could put the sun to shame, the black Kwami floated out of the pocket of his wielder.

"Do you have any idea how dumb this is, Flint?"

"I know, Plagg, I know."

That night at dinner time Carolina was a lot giddy and cheerful than she has been these past few days and that was also regarded by her father.

he had been busy so, he didn't have time to spare and talk to his daughter.

Carolina was sitting in her room using her phone when Nathaniel decided to approach her on the matter that had her daughter so worried in the past few days. (A/N: finally, tomato child is here...)

"Carol?" he knocked on her door.

"come in, daddy."

"Are you alright?" her father asked concerned as he entered his daughter's room.

"I've never been better," was her response.

"Okay," he looked dubious, he walked towards his daughter and sits beside her.

"You are sure?"

"I am, dad, stop worrying," Carolina said, as she hugged her father.

Carolina has always been close to her father, compared to her mother from childhood, to her mother it was always business, she didn't have time to spare for her children.

"Alright, is that your new project?" he points towards a draft on the painting holder.

"Yes," she answered as she brakes the hug.

"can I help you with that?"

"Of course, Dad," with they both start working together.

"you know, Carol, if you need us me or your mother, we will always be here to listen to what you have to say."

"I know, dad" for some reason she couldn't look him in the eye.

"Just don't do anything you will regret later, regret is something so poisonous that could kill you from inside," he looked at her daughter as if he knew something she didn't.

her phone rings waking her from her thoughts.

"Just remember, what I advised you," with a pat on her shoulder he leaves her room.

"Hello, Flint," she answered the call. her father's words still nagging at her mind but she pushes them aside.

she is not going to regret anything, right?

Author's Note:

thank you for Voting/reviewing the last chapters, it really inspires me to write more.

As for Flint's actions he is still Lila's son so, why not give him a little mean streak? and Carolina does have a conscience.

Vote/review, if you can.
