Chapter # 20 The School Project, Part: 1

 now on with our story:

"Today, you all are going to work on a group project." the teacher's voice echoed in class.

after some moments followed by an enthusiastic 'yeah' was heard from students.

"but I have already assigned pairs," with that teacher started calling out the names of the students.

"Emma Agreste, Carolina Kurtzberg and Flint Joseph."

"What?" Emma being shocked was an understatement.

"you heard it, Agreste Jr, we are partners" he slumped beside her were a moment ago Sara was sitting, "in the project."

she looked back a saw Sara sitting with her partners smiling, That traitor did not even wait to console her on her tragic fate.

'at least, I have carol,'

"Hello, Flint and Emma." Carolina smiled at the pair. the bell rung signaling the end of the class.

"We can meet at the library after the lunch break, to work on our project." with that Flint walked out of the class, leaving the girls behind.

"that was, better then I expected," Emma whispered.

"What was that?" Carolina asked.

"Nothing."

(time skip to lunch break)

"where were you?" Emma asked fuming, but Flint ignored her.

"I said, where were you?" anger evident in her voice.

Flint scratched his nose lazily.

"just have something important to deal with,"

"maybe we should just start working...?" before Emma could answer, Carolina suggested, slightly shifting seat.

"if you say so," Flint drawled, that was very out of character for him.

"But I want something to clarify. I don't want a mark less on my paper sheet and don't want someone..." she glared at Flint, "to ruin my grades. or else--"

"or else what, Agreste Jr? you are going to sue me? how very typical of you."

"guys, please..." Carolina pleaded.

"What?" they retorted.

"you don't want to be kicked out of the library, do you?"

Emma took a deep breath to calm herself.

"Alright,"

Flint grumbled, "Whatever," 

"it was disastrous, he came late and then started behaving like he owns the world."

Sara was listening to her friend ranting about the infamous Flint Joseph.

Sara shifted the cell phone to her left ear.

"Maybe you should start being a little civil towards him?" Sara says, uncertain of her reaction.

"Are you suggesting that?"

"yes I am, Emma. it has been half of the year and you two have not gotten over whatever is going on between you," she spoke in a calm voice.

"Oh," was the only answer.

"look, I am not asking you two to be best buddies all of the sudden. I am just saying be civil to him, until this project is over."

"I can try." Sara was glad that they were getting somewhere.

they were gathering at Carolina's palace, to work. as they have not gotten far with the project.

"where are you going? may I ask." Lila descended the stairs.

"to work on a group project."

"A group project,  and who are the partners?"

"Carolina Kurtzberg and Agres---I mean Emma Agreste." the last name caught her attention.

"Emma Agreste you say?"

"yes, mother."

"hmm, you can go now, but be sure to come back soon." Lila smiled at her son.

Flint nodded, bored.

"you really should not have done this, Jaden."

Emma said as they exit the car.

"why not, Emma? you are my best friend and at least that is what I can do for you,"

"but you have, you know, your duties..."

"look, here we are." they were welcomed by a butler.

"We are here to meet Carolina."

"mademoiselle is in her room"

"Thanks," the butler escorted them to her room.

Emma knocked on Carolina's door.

"come in!" Jaden pulled the door open.

they both stepped inside the room and saw Carolina and Flint sitting on the couch.

"oh, Jaden I did not know you were coming." Carolina greeted them.

"I am just here for Emma." Carolina's face fell, instantly, "Ohh, Emma."

Flint remained on the couch.

"Alright, I should leave now." he placed a kiss on Emma's forehead.

"take care and remember what Sara told you over the phone." Emma nodded and turned to face Carolina.

"You are late," Carolina walked towards the couch.

"Sorry..." Emma muttered.

"just start working already, I remembered someone don't want to get a mark less on her mark sheet." Flint stretched his arms.

with Sara's advice on her mind, Emma did not bother to answer him.

Flint was not excepting Jaden to show up with Emma to show there PDA, that is public display of affection.

He was glad, he did not threw up at the point.

he wondered if they were a couple, because Jaden was always following her like a lost puppy.

but the most noticeable was the reaction of Carolina.

one moment she was all happy and next It felt she want to throw Agreste Jr out of the window.

did she fancied Jaden?

did Jaden fancied Agreste Jr?

did Ageste Jr fancied him back?

or was there anyone else Agreste Jr fancied?

it was all so messed up for his mind to handle, but again why did he care?

he pondered, his meetings with Agreste Jr as Chat Noir were taking a toll on his mind.

and he did not like it a bit. (A/N: Aww, poor Flint.)
