The wind picked the pace, the little droplets were hitting the glass windows and making a sweet melody.
The darkness swallowed most of the city, but the lights on the streets were hitting illuminating the dark streets. Emma brought her knees to her chest. There was a crack of thunder and a powerful blow of wind caused the door of the balcony to swing open.
She sighed the umpteenth time that day and swung her legs down from her bed.
Her night has been restless so far after she came back from the Eiffel tower in the night.
Something was nagging at the back of her mind that something bad was about to happen.
"What happened, Emma?" The Kwami asked in a sleep-deprived tone, "Why are you out of bed?"
"Nothing particular, Tikki, I guess I forgot to lock the door," she answered as she locked the door.
"Have you even got some sleep, Emma?"
"No, not so far,"
"Try and get some sleep," Emma sighed.
"I've been trying so far, Tikki, but nothing works out for me," Emma gave a little chuckle.
The Kwami could do nothing but pat her wielder's shoulder.
After a moment of silence, Emma says, "Do you think he intended to break my trust like he did?" But it was not just her that has shattered so far.
The Kwami shakes her head, "I don't think, Emma, there must be a reason for not showing up,"
"I wish what you say is true, otherwise, I don't think I will be able to handle his betrayal." Her face held a distant expression.
"That makes the two of us," The Kwami mused, looking at her wielder with concern in her big eyes.
(Time skip)
Flint Joseph groaned as his eyes fluttered open. He glanced at his surroundings, trying to remember what has happened.
He remembered coming home with his mother and having a talk in the living room and... HIS MOTHER KNOW HE IS CHAT NOIR!!!
he swung his legs out of the covers of his bed with the speed of lightning.
he rushed to the door and tried to open it, but to his despair, it was locked.
"Damn it! Plagg, where are you!?" he called out to his companion. He pulled his hair desperately trying to find the Kwami.
His eyes widen as he looked at his left hand where the miraculous used to be, but it was nowhere in eyesight.
He started banging at the door, "Mother! let me out of here!" he yelled as loud as he could, "...Please," it was a desperate whisper.
"What am I doing to do now?" he asked himself, "it was supposed to be a secret! Why can't I be good at at least one thing, why do I always have to mess up everything?" he slides down the door; his back facing the offensive door.
He pulled his legs to his chest and closed his eyes.
"Okay, Flint, think logically. Mother is not going to imprison you in your room forever is she?" he tried to convince overdriving feeling in his gut, "she has to get me out of here today, tomorrow, or next week, and I remember the way she smiled when she told me she knew I was Chat Noir and That Lady---" his eyes flew open as the realization of the events occurred dawned on his, "---was the one causing Akumas... that's right she was wielding the butterfly Miraculous." he jumped to his feet, what if his mother was in trouble right now? but then he remembered his mother's face as he slipped into unconsciousness.
what if his mother was working alongside the Butterfly Miraculous holder; It was the worst scenario he could imagine, "No, Mother would never side with someone so evil,"
'What if she is?' a voice asked him.
Yes, what if she is... would he stand with her or against her? "No--- no I won't let her do anything to hurt anyone If she has an alliance with the evil Lady in purple," as he was pondering on his next course of action the door unlocked with a soft click.
the door flew open, revealing his mother standing at his doorway. Relief flooded his veins and he ran towards her, "Mother, are you okay?"
"I am good as I can ever be, my son. the real question here is how are you?" she smiled at him.
"Where is that lady?"
"I am right here," a voice echoed in the hall.
the butterfly miraculous wielder was standing a feet away from them, with a passive expression etched on her face.
"What do you want?" he growled.
"now, Flint, where are your manners?" his mother quipped, "it's not a way to talk to your guest,"
He was bewildered to hear the words coming out of his mother's mouth, he asked, "what do you mean by guest? she has tried to kill people, mother!!!" his breathing grew ragged, "She is you, isn't she? there is no way you would side her willingly," he grabbed her arms, "Mother, snap out of it!!!"
"Flint! stop it, she is not controlling me," Lila rolled her eyes at his vain attempt.
"What--- but there has to be an explanation,"
"There is, Flint, if you will only listen to me," she cupped his cheek, "look at me, Flint, I have a reason to do this and the reason is your father," there was a pause, "do you know what happens when the cat and ladybug miraculous are activated by the same person?" he shook his head.
Lila smiled down at him, "it will grant the wielder power to do anything they wish for and I want to bring your father back and at least apologize for once,"
Lila let out a deep breath, "and I want you to help us achieve our goal together," She pulled him into a hug, "just think about it, Flint, you, me, and your father together."
"Would that make you proud of me, Mother?" he asked out of the blue and it took Lila off guard.
"Yes---yes Of course my son, it will,"
"Alright, I will do as you say, mother," he gave her a grin that matched her own.
"I cannot believe it, Flint, you have no idea how glad I am," She pulled him into a hug again.
from the corner of her eye; Lila saw Kaghami smiling at the pair, with a mischievous glint in her amber eyes. They both knew what was to unleash on the city and their enemies.
little did they know, the third individual was planing against the unacceptable alliance.
