"Any news from Ladybug or Chat?" the boy in the turtle uniform asked the girl holding a flute.

Volpina shook her head and said, "No, they both are not picking up the calls,"

Carapace wiped the sweat from his forehead, "The Akuma is still on the rampage, even if we defeat it; we won't be able to purify it without Ladybug,"

"Tell me something I dont know," Volpina grumbled.

Carapace leaned on the stone wall, "What do we do now?"

"I honestly dont know," Volpina unintentionally snapped, "I mean, we always look up at Ladybug or Chat sometimes to lead the team. I am not sure how we are going to get out of this one," She sighed.

"You are right," Carapace gave a half-hearted smile, "but is that defeat I hear in the voice of the great mistress of Illusions and stuff."

Volpina glared at the boy, "I didn't say that; you are taking it out of context."

"Look, I am just as nervous as you are about this whole Ladybug and Chat disappearance scenario," He looked at the sky; it was getting darker by the moment, "If we keep living in their shadows; how do we expect ourselves to shine as our heroes."

Volpina smiled at the boy, "this is the only intelligent thing you've said since we've met."

"Consider it my courtesy, Fox lady,"

"I sure do, Turtle man,"

Agreste Manor (the following evening)

Marinette paced in the lounge. In one hand, she was holding a jar of pickle; in second, a cell phone.

On the couch, Adrian was observing his wife with concern in his eyes, "Adrian, she is still not picking up!" She exclaimed, throwing her phone on the table, "did you see the news; it says Ladybug never showed up to battle the Akuma," She sank on the couch and started sobbing.

Adrian slowly scoots over to his wife and hugged her, "I've already informed our closest friends and police; I dont think it will be much help," He ran a gentle hand through her hair, "We have to take matters into our own hands,"

She looked confused, "What do you mean?"

"The rest of the miraculous holders, who are they?" Marinette looked uneasy for a moment. It was not because she didn't want to tell her husband; She dreaded what will come after tells him that the son of one of the greatest enemies was Chat noir.

Emma groaned; her every muscle was soar and asking for a stretch. Surprisingly, her blindfold was off.

She looked down at herself. To her terror, she has already de-transformed. The first thought that came to her mind was, 'did they take her miraculous?!'

"Tikki, Tikki! Where are you?!" she screamed in the hallow cellar, "I am here, Emma" The red Kwami squeaked from her side.

Relief flooded her, "Thank goodness you are okay,"

"Can you leave this room, Tikki?"

"Sorry, I've already tried it," Emma looked disappointed, "The walls are sealed with some ancient magic to keep the magical beings contained," Tikki exclaimed, "I haven't faced something like this in a long time,"

"Hence, they've been planing to kidnap me longer than I thought," Emma mused.

"It seems like that,"

"Why didn't they take off my miraculous,"

"It feels like their plan is more thought out and sinister," The Kwami shuddered with terror.
