It has been a few days since the theatrical break up of Flint Joseph and Carolina Kurtzburg.
School has also started, it meant less endeavor of going through dozens of shows and photoshoots.
Everything was going splendid for Flint, as he was single, mind you, ready to mingle.
Girls at the school were again paying special attention to the teen model.
But the only girl he was pining over didn't think of him anything but a 'friend'.
Jaden and Carol we're often seen together in public.
It didn't surprise him.
Humza and Sara's tutoring classes were also going smoothly, he had never seen two people enjoying each other companies so much, considering one of them couldn't utter a word.
As for Emma Agreste, he was stunned when she confronted him and asked to give Carolina sometime to cool off.
The girl needed to sort out her priorities.
His mother was mostly silent on the matter, that bothered him.
"Flint," he was pulled out of his thoughts.
He craned his neck to look at the door and saw his mother standing there.
"Yes, mother"
"I wanted to confront you sooner but I've been really busy lately." She took a seat in front of him.
"About what?"
"That Kurtzburg girl," she made a sour face, "I never really liked her to begin with or her mother for that matter, and I am happy you dumped her." she cupped her cheek tenderly.
"Are you talking about my breakup with her?" He frowned.
She gave an affirmative nod, "I didn't dump her, it was a mutual breakup."
"I am glad, people like her are not worth our devotions,"
"I understand,"
"I didn't notice you wear a ring," Lila raised her brow.
"It was a gift," he unconsciously ran a finger over his miraculous.
"The person gave you this 'gift' sure means a lot to you," she grabbed his hand and looked at the ring closely.
"It was from Carolina," he swiftly replied and yanked his hand back.
"Hmmm, you should get rid of this ring, she is no longer a part of your life," he murmured an 'okay, mother,' as she stood up, "I want to inform you that a guest is joining us for dinner,"
"Great," he smiled but it resembles more of a frown.
With a last skeptical glance in his direction, Lila left the room.
"That was close," the black Kwami muttered, from underneath a pillow.
"You said something, Plagg?"
"Yes, kid, get ready or you'll be late for that dinner,"
"You must be Flint, Lila's son," Flint searched for the source of the voice.
A woman was standing in the corridor, facing the wall.
"Must be the guest," he thought.
"And you are," he inquired.
"Kinza Yong," the woman turned to face him.
She was wearing dark goggles over her eyes and was holding a white cane.
"It's nice to meet you, miss Yong," Flint spoke, politely.
'No, pleasure is all mine. After all, you're a celebrity," the woman replied, with a hint of a smile on her face.
"I see, you two have been introduced to each other," Lila Rose clicked her heels on the stone floor.
"Yes, we already have, you have raised such a gentleman, Lila." Flint smiled at the woman.
"I am pleased that you think so, Kinza" Lila motions for them to follow her.
"If you don't mind, miss yong, can I ask you a question?" Flint took a sip of his water and looked at the woman.
"Of course," she wiped her mouth delicately with a napkin.
"How long you've been friends with my mother? frankly, I have never met you before," Flint was expecting her to answer.
The woman cleared her throat, "I was a friend of your father before he left the town."
"Oh, then you must know all about him," he asked, his eyes glimmering with innocent curiosity.
"Don't you remember anything about your father?" Kinza raised a brow.
Flint shook his head, "Not all about him, just a few things,"
"It is expected, you were only five at the time," Kinza tilted her head to a side, as if examining him, "things would have been different if he was alive, don't you think?" Her sentence had a hidden meaning behind It.
"He is no longer with us, there is no use pondering over what if."
"Let's just suppose there is a way to bring him back, would you allow it?" He was not sure what this woman was playing at.
"I believe you are mistaking fairy tales to reality, miss yong. There is no dead coming to life with a simple kiss," he remembered the time when he kissed ladybug to break the spell and cringed inwardly.
"No, I am not. I believe there is magic out there. if it was not the case, then Paris would never have superheroes," "I should leave now, I have school tomorrow. Goodnight," before Lila could utter a word, Flint was gone.
Kinza took off her goggles, "This boy has a lot to learn,"
"Only if my suspicions are correct," Lila told Kagami.
Kagami stood up to leave, "If they are wrong, would you let him walk out of our plan?" Kagami stopped at the doorway and looked back at Lila, "Lila Rose's son 'Chat Noir' it would be ironic, don't you think?" At her words Lila's head snapped toward the woman, "ironic, but not impossible," Kagami walked out and left her alone to ponder.
Lila didn't know why, but fury boiled in her insides.
She grabs the closest thing that happened to be glass and flings it to the wall, resulting in it shattering into million pieces.
"This time, I won't let history repeat itself, no matter what, my son will never turn his back on his mother," she promised herself.
