Harry turned to Draco.
Draco sat upright on the mattress on the floor between Harry and Ron's beds.
Harry was silent for a moment. He decided to tell the truth. Draco couldn't tell one of the professors because he would be punished for not being with Ron anymore anyway. "To the astronomy tower, I can't sleep, so I thought I'd go look at the stars."
"I can't sleep either."
"Ron's snoring?"
"Yeah."
"Me too, it is really annoying sometimes, but you get used to it."
They were silent for a moment.
"Can I come with you?" Draco asked after a while.
"You mean to the astronomy tower?"
"Yes."
"Sure, I mean why not." What the bloody hell is wrong with me!? Harry could slap himself for his stupidity. But it was too late, there was no turning back now. Maybe he should've just stayed in bed..
"How are we going to walk through the corridor without getting caught?" Draco asked softly as they entered the Common Room.
"With this." Harry held up the cloak.
"With a cloak? How do you want to get us through the corridors without getting caught with a cloak?"
"It's not just any cloak smartypants." Harry put on the cloak and his body except his head became invisible.
"Oohw... that makes a lot more sense."
"I know, come on lets go, otherwise it will be light again before we even get out of the Common Room." What the hell was he doing!? Showing the invisibility cloak to non-other than Draco Malfoy!
Harry put the invisibility cloak over himself and Draco and they sneaked cautiously through the corridors. They had to stand very close to each other to disappear completely under the cloak, which made Harry's heart beat very fast as he could smell Draco's cologne and he could feel his body against his. They arrived at the astronomy tower without encountering a professor or Mr. Filch.
Harry threw the cloak off him and Draco and stood by the railing to look at the stars.
Draco came to stand next to him.
They were quiet for a while, enjoying the beautiful view and the cold night breeze.
"The stars are beautiful, don't you think?" Harry said after a while.
"Yes they are." Draco answered, admiring the starry sky.
"I've always loved looking at the stars, it calms me. It's so fascinating to watch. All those little bright spots..."
"Yes it is. It's such a beautiful and peaceful sight."
Harry nodded.
"I hope I didn't annoy you too much with the bickering with Ron." Draco said sincerely after a while.
"It's really annoying, but I'm used to it. If Ron isn't bickering with you, he is with Hermione. But you should be a bit more friendlier towards Hermione. We didn't want this to happen either, so make it liveable for everyone." Harry replied.
"Fine, I'll try to be more friendly to Granger." Draco sighed. "Weasley likes to argue if you ask me."
"Yes it seems like he does."
It was quiet again for a moment.
Harry noticed that Draco was shivering. "Are you cold?" He asked.
"A bit." Draco replied.
Harry got his cloak and wrapped it around Draco. "Better?"
"A little, thanks."
Harry looked at Draco and started laughing.
"What? What's so funny?"
"Look at yourself." Harry said with a chuckle.
Draco looked at his invisible body. "My body is invisible."
"Except your head." Harry said still laughing.
"Really?" Draco laughed. "That must look hilarious."
"Yes, wait, give me the cloak, I'll show you."
Draco gave Harry the invisibility cloak.
Harry wrapped it around himself and Draco immediately started laughing.
"I see what you mean, it really looks ridiculous." He said laughing.
"I know right, it's completely ridiculous."
"Yes, it is." Said Draco still laughing hard.
"Wait I know something else!" Harry wrapped the cloak around his waist so that you could only see his upper body.
Draco laughed even louder.
Harry jumped up and down making it look like his upper body was floating up and down and Draco's eyes filled with tears from laughter.
Suddenly Harry stumbled over the cloak and fell.
Draco could no longer hold himself and fell to his knees laughing.
In the end they lay on the floor together laughing hard.
Suddenly they heard something and they were immediately silent.
"What was that?" Harry asked in a whisper.
"I don't know." Draco whispered back.
They heard footsteps.
Draco took Harry's hand and pulled him to a corner behind a section of wall.
Harry put the invisibility cloak over him and Draco just in time as Mr. Filch came up the stairs.
"Strange, I thought I heard something, well, I must have been wrong." Mr. Filch wanted to go back downstairs but Mrs. Norris stopped him.
"What is it Mrs. Norris? Did you hear something?"
Mrs. Norris went over to Harry and Draco.
Draco and Harry crawled as far behind the wall as possible.
Mr. Filch slowly approached them.
Harry stood against Draco and held his hand tight.
They held their breath.
Mr. Filch came closer and closer and for a moment they thought they were going to be caught until suddenly they heard a loud bang from below.
"What was that!?" Said an indignant Filch who immediately ran downstairs.
Mrs. Norris looked in their direction with her scary red eyes, as if to say "You got lucky but next time he'll find you." and then followed Mr. Filch.
Draco and Harry breathed a sigh of relief.
