Tears ran down Harry's cheeks on the way to the Gryffindor Common Room. He played with his ring on his finger. Why was he even still wearing it!? He took it off. It felt like part of him was disappearing.
Draco sank to his knees from the sudden painful, cold rush that passed through his body. It felt like his heart froze temporarily. Now he knew what Harry meant the day he gave Harry the rings. He burst into tears.
Harry walked into his dorm and slammed the door. Thank god no one was there. He sat down on his bed and stared straight ahead. Tears streamed down his cheeks. Why didn't Draco believe him? Did he really not trust him? Harry ripped his half of the heart off his neck. He stood up. "Merlin's beard!" He kicked his trunk. He opened the window.
A fresh breeze blew in.
He was still holding the chain and ring. He looked at it. Why should he keep them if Draco doesn't trust him anyway? Harry wanted to throw them out the window but was stopped by a voice.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you." Ron's voice came from behind him. "You're going to regret it."
Harry turned to Ron.
"He doesn't trust me anyway, so why would I keep them?" Harry shrugged and Ron walked over to him.
"You know that's not true. I don't know what happened, but I do know Draco trusts you with his life."
"He doesn't. He just told me that!" Harry crossed his arms.
"Did he say that literally?" Ron asked.
"... No."
Ron sighed. "Give here." He reached out for the jewels.
Harry gave them to Ron.
Ron walked over to Harry's trunk and took out the box Harry had received from him for Christmas.
"There's no space in it anymore, it's already full." Harry said.
"No, this box can never be full. Close the window and come here and I'll show you."
Harry sighed, closed the window, and sat down on the bed next to Ron.
"Look, it's simple. Fred and George invented this box for people who always have too little space for their things. Look see this circle with the different colours? See those are different boxes. And do you see this arrow? Look, at the moment it's on the blue box. Look," Ron opened the box. "This one is completely full. But if I set it to yellow, for example," Ron Turned the circle until the arrow pointed to the yellow box. He opened the box again. "Look, this box is completely empty." Now the box was instead of blue, all yellow inside. "Okay, since the stone on your ring is red, we'll put the ring and necklace in red so that if you ever want to wear them back you don't have to look for them in the grass." Ron closed the box, set the arrow to red, opened the box again and put the necklace and ring in the box. This time the box was red on the inside. Ron put the box back in Harry's trunk. "Okay, now tell me what happened."
Harry burst into tears again.
Ron didn't know what to do.
Harry kept crying.
After a while Neville, Seamus and Dean entered.
"What's wrong?" Neville asked. He sat down next to Harry.
He kept crying.
"I don't know." Ron said worried. "He doesn't say anything."
"I'm going to get Hermione." Dean walked out of the dorm.
Seamus sat on the bed opposite Harry and looked at him with concern. "How long has he been like this?"
"Almost half an hour. And it only gets worse.
"What's wrong?!" Hermione ran into the dorm with concern. "Oh no." She walked over to Harry and sat down next to him on the other side. "What happened?" She looked at Ron.
"Something between him and Draco, I don't know what. I asked him but then he started crying. He's been like this for half an hour."
"Harry? What's wrong?" Hermione looked at him with concern.
Harry choked out a sob.
"We'll leave you two, maybe he'll tell you." Dean said.
Ron, Neville, Seamus and Dean left the room.
"Harry please, tell me what's wrong!"
"... He doesn't trust me!"
"What?"
Harry told her what had happened.
"Oh no..." Hermione looked at him pityingly.
Harry began to cry violently again.
Hermione put her arms around him.
For days, Harry refused to leave his dorm. He did not even leave his dorm for lessons. Ron, Seamus, Neville, and Dean took turns bringing him food. But Harry refused to eat.
Draco wasn't much better. At least he got out of his dorm but he didn't speak and almost didn't eat. During the lessons he stared dead ahead, even when the professor asked him something he just ignored it.
Over the weekend, Ron and Hermione finally managed to get Harry out of his dorm. He sat staring straight ahead at the Gryffindor table during the afternoon.
"Harry, you need to eat!" Hermione said worried.
"I'm not hungry." Harry replied monotonously.
"You haven't even touched your plate!"
"I said, I'm not hungry." Harry got up and left the Great Hall.
Hermione sighed. She looked at Draco sitting at the Slytherin table.
He stared straight ahead as glumly as Harry. His eyes were red and there were dark bags under his eyes.
Pansy sat next to him but pretended nothing was wrong and talked to another girl from Slytherin.
Hermione sighed again. She was tired of it. She got up. "Make sure Harry eats." She said to Ron and she walked over to the Slytherin table. She tapped Draco on the shoulder. "I think we need to have a talk." She reached out to him.
Draco hesitated. "It's, okay, don't worry, everything is going to be fine." She smiled.
Draco wanted to take her hand but was stopped by Pansy.
"Where do you want to go with my best friend, mudblood!?" She said angrily.
"Don't call her that!" Draco said angrily.
"I need to talk to him, cause I do care about your 'best friend'!" Hermione made quotes in the air.
Draco took her hand and they walked out of the Great Hall.
"Tell me Dray, what's going on inside your head?" Hermione asked when they were in a quiet place.
Draco burst into tears telling her all about how he didn't know who to believe and that he do trusts Harry but just doesn't know what to do.
"Oh love," Hermione hugged him.
"It was Pansy who kissed Harry. She had him pinned to the wall. You know Harry would never cheat on you, he's madly in love with you! He could never, he loves you too much."
"I should've believed him!" Draco sobbed.
"It's alright love, how could you know who really spoke the truth and who didn't? What Pansy did was horrible. She tried to ruin your relationship and that's just horrible."
"I just don't understand why she would do something like that!"
"Some people are just mean."
