Chapter 35

Harry chuckled. "No that's for another day."

Draco sighed in relief.

"No, before I can ever propose to you, I have to finish our first date correctly and ask your dad for your hand. But how will he ever entrust you to me if I don't even give you something on the first date?"

"But you have already given me so much! You gave me one of the best days of my life!"

"Yes, but your father doesn't know that, I have to give you something that he can see." Harry opened the box. "So I want to give you this."

The box contained a necklace with a half heart-shaped pendant. It was gold, with pretty dainty flowers.

Draco took the box from Harry and looked at the pendant admiringly. He turned the pendant over.

At the back there was a small ornate gold door.

Draco opened the little door.

Behind the door was black.

"There is nothing behind the door." Draco said.

"There is something behind the door, but you just don't see it because the other half is missing. Harry took out the other half of the heart he had around his neck. "Look."

Harry's half looked pretty much the same except his door didn't have a knob

He put the two halves together and opened the door that now consisted of Draco and Harry's door.

A moving picture of Harry and Draco from that day appeared. The picture where Harry and Draco kissed with the floral wreath and the white rose.

"And look at the other side." Harry turned the heart over.

The beautiful, graceful flowers had disappeared and were replaced by a beautiful rose.

Draco smiled and turned red. "Always the rose." He said softly.

"Do you like it?" Harry asked nervously.

"I love it." Draco said. He took his necklace out of the box and put it on. "Where did you buy it?"

"Actually, I bought it in the muggle world. At first it was just two golden half hearts, I adjusted it myself." Harry turned a little red.

Draco smiled. "Merlin, what have I done to earn you?" He gave Harry a kiss.

Harry turned even redder. "What have I done to earn you?"

They sat there together for a long time talking and looking at the stars until they got tired and went back to the Gryffindor Common Room. They got changed and crawled into bed.

Harry laid on his back.

Draco always laid with his head on Harry's chest or on his shoulder. He laid down next to Harry and put his head on Harry's chest close to his heart. Draco is always calmed by Harry's heartbeat. He soon fell asleep.

Harry was still awake and was staring at the ceiling. One hand gently stroking Draco's hair, with the other he held his half of the heart that he was wearing around his neck. He could feel Draco's steady breathing on his bare torso, since he wasn't wearing a shirt. He sighed. Today had been a great day, it went even better than he had planned. He played with his half of the heart. He was happy that Draco liked it. It was so nice to see Draco so happy. God he loves him...

A few days passed.

Harry and Draco had a lot of fun together. They were happy to be able to celebrate Christmas together within a few days. They often went for walks together, which usually ended in snowball fights and kissing in the snow. Or sometimes they just spent a whole day in the library reading books together.
