"But..." Ron sighed.

Hermione, understanding why Harry was running away, approached Ron. "Let him go, he doesn't find it easy to tell you this."

"So you know who he's taking to the ball?" Ron felt a little betrayed.

"I found out myself, he didn't tell me anything."

"Okay. Wait, did you hear what Harry and I were talking about before?!" Ron panicked.

"No, I happened to hear that you were talking about his date, that's all."

"Thank god!" Ron sighed in relief. He looked at Hermione.

She had two braids.

He smiled. "I like the braids," He played with a braid. "They look good on you." He walked over to Dean and Seamus.

Hermione blushed. "Thank you." She stopped for a moment and then walked back to Ginny and Luna who had seen everything.

Around ten o'clock Luna sneaked back to her own Common Room.

Harry came back downstairs and sat down next to Hermione and Ron who were on the couch.

"I'm sorry mate, I didn't want to push you." Ron said sincerely.

"It's okay, I get it. I'm just not ready to tell you."

Hermione looked at him meaningfully.

The next day, Hermione and Harry sat together in the library during a free period.

Ron and Draco had class.

"I've been thinking about what you said." Hermione said suddenly.

Harry looked up from his charm's book.

"I'm going to give Ron a chance to ask me. If he's really going to like you said, knowing Ron, he's going to ask me in the last week before the ball because he's scared, so I'll give him time until then. If someone asks me, and that person isn't Mclaggen or another git I will say that I was asked by another person and come back to it later."

Harry could hardly believe his ears. "Really?"

"Yes, I know how shy Ron can be."

"That's fantastic."

"Come on! Why is he doing this to us!" Draco said who just entered the library with Ron.

"How am I supposed to know!? That bloody git just hates us or something!

Draco sat opposite Harry and Ron sat next to him, opposite Hermione.

"I guess so!"

"But why?!" Ron bumped his head on the table.

"What are you guys bickering about this time?" Hermione looked up from her book, irritated.

"We're not bickering!" Draco and Ron said at the same time.

Harry laughed and looked up from his book too. "That's the first time."

"Oh sod off for a second Harry! Remember when Snape said we were going to do group assignments?"

"Yes." Answered Harry and Hermione.

"Snape put us together for the group assignment! We have to work together for almost an entire semester!"

Harry tried to hold back his laugh, but it failed terribly.

"That!" Draco hit Harry with his book. "Is!" He hit him again. "Not!" And again. "Funny!" And again.
