13 | The Pen

The children went trough their first struggles to survive in the outside world. On their first days they dealt with pursuers from the farm, Ray was almost got killed and Emma was in critical condition due to her wound in the ear. But luckily, they were saved by two demons who actually don't eat human.

Mujika and Sonju gave them horrifying vibes at first but they had learned, even though they are demons, they are actually kind. They taught them how to cook, hunt, and some dangerous places they should avoid.

Eventually they made it to their first goal to find William Minerva, that is to find the shelter B06-32. That's where they met the unknown man, they called him Mister, he refused to tell his name no matter how much Emma asked him. He is kind of a problem at first but they managed to make him lead Emma and Ray to their next clue in finding Minerva, to a place located at  A08-63.

This place is nice and all, sadly Emma and Ray can't waste any time. Four years, they have to survive, figure out what's happening in the world, and many more task until they save Phill and the others. It's decided they will leave tomorrow morning.

When everyone is slept, Ray is sneaking to the shelter's library. He chooses a random seat and then starts reading your diary for God knows how many times. It may because he is at an unfamiliar environment, he can't sleep despite the comfortable bed. At time like this, your stories in your diary provide him a good entertainment and company.

"Ray?"

He closes the notebook when Emma comes and take a seat beside him. "You're not sleeping?" he asked.

She shakes her head. "I can't sleep, and you? Not studying, right?"

"Nah... I'm just randomly pick a book," said Ray.

He tried to hide your notebook but Emma has seen the cover for a mile second, and she recognizes what is that book.

She tries to grab it but Ray move it to his back. "What are you doing?" he asked.

Emma asked him back, "It's Y/N's notebook right? How can it be in your hands?"

"She gave it to me for my birthday. An early present."

"No way! Y/N cherished it so much and she gave it to you? How lucky..."

Ray bring the notebook back to her sight and she observes it carefully. The book has aged for years now yet the look is not as worst as she expected. Y/N took an extra care to it and it seems Ray also treasures it now.

Well, they are really close just like how were Emma with Norman. She's just a little jealous Ray got the opportunity to keep your legacy. No bad feelings though, she knows he will take a good care of it.

Emma asked, "Can you share the insides a bit?"

"No."

"Come one! Just a very little portion? What did she write? Is it a diary?"

"Y/N won't like it to be spilled."

"But it's me! Come on Ray, please...." she whines.

Ray sighed. "There are some drawings and doodles. Mostly are about our family."

"The book is filled with drawings? Why didn't she use her sketchbook then?"

"There are some ... notes, too. That's it I'm not spilling it any further."

"Okay ... Y/N's drawing huh, I wish I could find her collection and her sketch books in the house. She brought almost everything with her."

"Did you check Momma's room?"
