Both sides were now roaring to go against each other. Ugh, we are attracting a lot of attention. I don't like this.. "Hold it!" suddenly Sougo said out loud. "We can't have you guys sword fighting out in the open with innocent civilians nearby" Yeah! That's it! You go, boy! "Let's settle this in a cherry blossom spirit" Mmm right. Wait- "The first annual Mallet and Helmet style rock paper scissor contest!" That has nothing to do with cherry blossom viewing!!! After Sougo explained the rules, 3 people from each side participated as representatives of their group. I was asked to join specifically but i turned down the offer since i preferred enjoying the view rather than being in it. Yamazaki and Shinpachi were the judges and I was sitting a bit far on a chair enjoying my sake and the game. "The winner wins the right to view cherry blossoms from here and gets Hanae-san and Otae-san" Yamazaki said out loud causing our group to protest. Interesting but no.
"Round 1! It's Otae-san VS Kondo-san. Let's see who wins!" Yeap, someone's gonna get killed today. The look in Otae's eyes says it all. I'd be careful if i were you, Kondo-san. "Well then, get ready to play- rock paper scissor!" Kondo-san had rock while on the other hand Otae had paper. Uh oh, she's chanting. "Whew, I'm safe!" Kondo-san said as he hurriedly put on the helmet and then laughed carefreely. "Safe ja nai! Run away, Kondo-san!" Shinpachi shouted. But it was too late and she gave him the death blow. I immediately turned my head from the scene and internally prayed for Kondo-san's soul. "The helmet might be forever etched into his head now.. that's if he has any left" i mumbled and then took a sip from my cup. "Umm.. the Chief is unable to continue, so the first round is a draw. We'll continue the game"
"For the 2nd round, both contestants please try to at least follow the rul- WOAH!" Shinpachi stopped on his tracks as he looked at the next pair. We all stared at the demonic duo in shock as they had already started their game. "They're fast! They're super fast! They're so fast it looks like they both have a hammer and a helmet!" the Shinsengumi men and I roared in excitement watching those two. Those two make a good pair actually. I'll be rooting for you in secret, kids! But there was no end to their battle as they continued playing causing the judges to conclude it as a draw and then go to the final round. "The last contestants plea- what the hell?!" Shinpachi and Yamazaki shouted at the grown ups as they had already started drinking. "Okay, next up- tequila!" Gintoki brought out a bottle and opened it. "Bring it on!" Hijikata brought his cup close to the bottle. They'll regret it soon.
"Woah, the battle on this side has become even fierce!" Yamazaki said causing me to pour all my attention on the demonic duo. "Is it just me or are both of them wearing a helmet?" i asked putting my elbow on Yamazaki's shoulder and leaning against him. "No, they both are wearing it. And they don't even have hammers. They're not even playing rock paper scissor. They're just beating the crap out of each other. I TOLD YOU TO FOLLOW THE RULES!" Yamazaki shouted at them. "Oh no. Wait, don't drink yet. Wai- Blerghhh" both the men threw up near the trees. "Ugh.. why even drink when you can't handle it? You two can't fight like this" i commented while handing them cold water bottles.
"Heh, don't worry. I can still do it" Gintoki wobbled as he tried standing up. "Bring it on, dammit" Hijikata did the same. "It would be boring to settle things normally. Why don't we play some 'cut and parry' style rock paper scissor using real swords?" Gintoki suggested as he smirked at Hijikata. "Bring it on, dammit!" he replied drawing out his sword. Ooh now that's what I'd like to see. "Nee-san, what are you doing?! Don't just stand there and let them continue! Please stop them! They'll get injured!" Shinpachi marched towards me. "Ah Shin-chan, you're too young to be worrying about stuffs. Just look at those drunkards and see what they're facing off against" i chuckled while gulping from the tequila bottle. "Huh? Oh wait they're-" "See? I told you. Now, lighten up boy" Cherry blossoms are really best when viewed with a large group. Just like the old times, heh.
