Otis and Olympia's friendship is something that others can't quite figure out. They were so different from each other, yet so alike and in sync that it was almost hard to comprehend. It was like lightning in a bottle, and neither Otis or Olympia ever wanted it to change.

Which is why Otis totally freaked out when he began to fall in love with her....

"When are you gonna tell her the truth, Otis?" Oona had asked Otis when he told her about his feelings for his partner. Ok, so he didn't exactly tell Oona that. It was more like she figured it out by asking him random questions and he ended up blurting it out by mistake.

Otis looked at her like she was crazy. "I'm not going to. How can I? She's my best friend, there's no way I'm telling her that I'm in love with her." he said, standing up from his desk chair and pacing around.

Oona gave him a look. "Otis, you can't just hide your feelings forever. I mean, you can but you shouldn't. Like you said, she's your best friend, and your partner. You can't be keeping secrets from her." she advised, Otis sighing in frustration since he knew she had a point.

"Oona, it's not that easy." he claimed. He couldn't risk ruining his friendship with Olympia just because of his stupid feelings.

Just then, as if on cue, Olympia walked up to them, smiling brightly like usual. "Hi, Oona. Hey, Otis." she greeted, waving at them.

"Hey, partner." Otis reacted, as if he hadn't just been talking about his secret crush on her.

"Howdy do, Olympia." Oona said cheerily. She then told them that she had to get back to the lab and she gave both of her friends a smile before sauntering off.

"So, Otis guess what?" she said excitedly, turning her attention back to her partner. Olympia didn't even give him a chance to reply before she exclaimed "I have a boyfriend!"

Otis felt his stomach turn in the most uncomfortable way as he froze in place. He felt like the words she just said had physically slapped him in the face and he couldn't seem to form any reply.

"What? Who?" he finally questioned, the disapproval in his voice way more evident than he'd meant for it to be.

"His name is Owen. And no, not Owen who works here in security. It's someone from outside of work. He's really great." Olympia explained. "What's wrong?" she then asked, noticing a look of what she could only describe as disappointment on his face.

"Nothing. Nothing's wrong." he lied, avoiding eye contact.

Olympia didn't buy that for one second though. She knew him too well.

"Are you sure? Cuz you can tell me if something's bothering you, you know." she pried.

That's when Otis glanced up at her, using all of his willpower to fake a small smile and pretend that he was ok with this. "Yeah, I'm sure. I'm happy for you, partner." he managed to say, his voice nearly betraying him as it almost cracked.

Olympia gave him a skeptical glance before shrugging. "Ok then. Thanks, Otis." she replied with a smile. "And hey, is it alright if I have lunch at the ice cream parlor with Owen today? I know we were gonna eat schmumber's burgers in the break room like always, but Owen wanted to spend some extra time with me." she asked and Otis could almost hear his own heart breaking as Olympia's voice went softer at Owen's name.

He did his best to push back all the negative feelings of hurt as he nodded with a simple "Sure" for his reply.

Olympia smiled yet again and gave Otis a hug before walking off, leaving him standing there with his thoughts.
