Olympia smiled at herself in the mirror after tying her hair into her signature ponytail. Her smile was extra wide, since she was excited to go bowling with Otis today. Ms O had given them a day off, so Otis and Olympia planned to just hang out with each other all day, deciding on bowling for a fun activity.

Olympia took one more look in the mirror before basically skipping out of her room and into the living room, sitting down on the sofa. She decided to give Otis a call to see how soon he'd arrive, but just before she could even dial his number, she heard the doorbell ring. She jumped off of the couch and raced to the door so fast, it was a wonder that she didn't trip.

"Otis, hi!" she greeted happily after opening the door, seeing her partner standing there, half smiling at her.

"Hey, Olympia." Otis said, secretly noticing how pretty she looked in her pink t-shirt, jeans and white shoes.

It was always interesting for him to see her in casual clothes rather than in uniform. She looked so relaxed and free, it was.... nice.

"I'm so excited for bowling! It's so rare that we get to do things like this, just hanging out with each other." Olympia commented. "I mean, we hang out with each other at work all the time obviously, but- you know what I mean." she rambled, moving her hands a little for emphasis.

"Yeah." Otis simply replied. Soon, they were headed out the door after Olympia let her parents know where she was going.

Otis and Olympia chatted the whole way to the bowling alley, the sunny summer weather making their moods even brighter.

Once they entered the place, they were greeted by the sounds of bowling balls knocking down pins followed by people bragging and cheering. There was also a bit of music playing in the background to add to the upbeat atmosphere.

Soon, they were halfway into their game and it was pretty much a tie so far, neither one of them being experienced at the sport.

Just then, Olympia got an idea. "So, since it's a tie right now, how about we make this interesting?" she proposed.

"How?" Otis questioned, tilting his head to the side a little in curiosity.

"Well, neither one of us has knocked down all the pins at once yet, so let's see which one of us can do it first!" Olympia excitedly bounced on her heels as she spoke. "And if you win, I'll buy you a snack, and if I win you can buy a snack for me." she added, already becoming hungry as she thought about the various snack foods that they served in the integrated snack bars here.

Otis cracked a small smile as he nodded once. "Ok, partner. You're on." he responded, shaking Olympia's hand to officially start their little 'contest'.

They flipped a coin to decide who would take the first turn, which ended up being Otis.

"Ok, watch this." he confidently said, taking the bowling ball in his hands. Olympia watched him expectantly as he attempted to knock all of the pins down at once, but he only managed to knock down three. When he turned back around to face Olympia, she was slightly smirking at him.

"What? It's harder than it looks...." Otis reacted defensively, causing Olympia to laugh.

A bunch of tries later, (they had lost count of how many) and neither of them had won yet. Olympia didn't want to admit it, but she was becoming a little tired.... and actually very hungry also. She refused to say anything about it though, determined to finish the game, but that didn't stop Otis from noticing that something was up.

It was currently Olympia's turn again, but when she tried to pick up the ball, it proved to be quite difficult for her.

"You ok there, partner? Need some help?" Otis asked her, seeing how she struggled with the task.

Olympia put on her most convincing smile as she replied, "That's ok, I don't need any help. I got it."

Otis just decided to help her anyway though, walking closer to her and taking the ball in his hands. However, this caused their hands to touch, and they blushed like crazy as they just stood there for a moment.

"Thanks...." Olympia trailed off, finally breaking the silence.

"No problem." Otis responded, just setting the bowling ball back down. "Are you sure you're ok, Olympia?" he questioned again in concern.

"Yeah.... I'm just a little tired. But let's just finish the game." Olympia said, but Otis wasn't having it.

"How about we just get something to eat first, ok?" he suggested, it sounded more like a statement than a question though. Not even waiting for her reply, Otis took Olympia's hand and lead her over to the snack bar, while Olympia just focused on not tripping with how tired she was.

Once they were at the snack bar, Olympia happily took a bite of her burger that Otis had bought for her. He also bought fries and water for them to share, despite Olympia insisting that she could help pay for it. She hadn't even realized how hungry she was until she started eating.

"So, I think it's safe to say neither of us are that good at bowling, huh?" Olympia commented, laughing a little. She was back to her usual energetic self as she playfully took a french fry from Otis' plate and ate it.

Otis let out a chuckle. "Yeah, I think you're right." he agreed.

"It was fun though. We should totally do something like this again! We could go get ice cream or something after work tomorrow." Olympia suggested, her eyes sparkling in excitement as she looked over at her partner.

"Ok. That sounds great, partner." Otis replied, nodding a little.

"But I can pay for my own food this time." Olympia joked with a little giggle.

Otis smirked slightly, shaking his head a bit as he reacted, "Nah, I'm still gonna pay for you. That's how dates are supposed to work, Olympia."

Olympia's cheeks turned a light pink as she wondered if she heard him right. "Dates? It's going to be a date?" she asked, unable to stop her natural smile.

"If you want it to be." Otis was now blushing also, hoping that Olympia wouldn't reject him. But the way her smile became wider and even brighter, told him all he needed to know.

"I'd love that." came Olympia's reply, Otis silently sighing in relief.

They then went back to eating their snacks quietly, until they began chatting about random things again, their happiness clearly evident. Even though they didn't say it out loud, in their minds, this had sort of been a date the whole time.
