Oona had a lot of lab work to do today, and she was eager to get it all done, spending hours on end in the lab as she built and repaired countless gadgets. She was currently in the middle of building a new gadget when Olympia walked up to the lab.
"Hey, Oona. What are you working on?" Olympia curiously said, a bright smile on her face as usual.
Oona looked up at her, taking a quick break from her gadget making. "Oh, howdy do, Olympia. I'm just working on a new gadget. It's a super important one and I'm really excited about it. I've been working for hours to perfect it." she happily explained.
"That sounds really cool. Do you want some help? I finished all my paperwork and I'm kind of bored." Olympia admitted with a laugh.
"Sure." Oona reacted, watching as Olympia walked behind the lab counter to stand next to her.
"So, what does the gadget do?"
"Well, you know how sometimes when us scientists are building things, we need a specific shape to perfectly finish it? Like a triangle piece, or a square piece, or a sphere piece?" Oona began to explain, Olympia nodding in understanding, urging her to continue. "Well, this gadget will be perfect for that because it can create any shape! Triangles, squares, cubes, you name it. I call it the shape-inator!" Oona proudly said, holding up the nearly completed gadget in her hands.
"Whoa! That's so awesome. That will be so useful." Olympia reacted, just as excited as Oona.
The two of them worked together to finish the creation, grinning proudly when they finally completed it.
Just then, they heard a weird zapping noise, looking around the room to see where the sound came from. Eventually, their eyes landed on a guy who was now standing beside the lab, wearing a long, white lab coat with pictures of triangles on it, along with oversized goggles and a tie that was shaped like a zig zag.
Olympia and Oona stared at him for a second, exchanging glances at each other as they wondered who this guy was.
"Um, hi. Do we know you?" Oona slowly asked him.
"I'm the Terrific Teleporter! Or something like that. I'm still working on the name.... you can just call me The Teleporter for now. Anyway, I'm sure you've heard of me." he said, grinning.
Oona and Olympia shook their heads with confused expressions on their faces.
"You haven't? Ugh, I told the other villains to tell people about me." The Teleporter complained, sighing in annoyance. "Well, anyway, I can introduce myself better later. But for now, it's time to teleport!" he spoke, causing the two agents to glance at each other in confusion. The Teleporter then waved his hands around quite dramatically, and in flash he teloprted himself, Oona and Olympia out of the lab to who knows where.
Right at that moment, Oscar walked up to the lab, Otis trailing behind him as he toted a gadget in his hands, which he planned to return. But their eyes widened when they realized what they just saw.
"Um, Otis, did you see what I just saw?" Oscar asked, looking over him.
"Uh huh.... if you just saw a weird scientist guy with a crazy outfit teleport himself, Oona and Olympia away, then yes. Yes, I did." Otis replied, nodding as he freaked out inside.
"That guy with the crazy outfit is actually the newest odd villain in town!" Oscar nervously exclaimed, frantically running his hands through his hair as he and Otis ran inside the lab. "He's calling himself the Scientific Teleporter.... or something like that. He's still working on the name." Oscar added on the end.
"What?! So, an odd villain just teleported Olympia and Oona somewhere? We have to find them!" Otis reacted, concern evident in his voice. "Olympia's my partner, I'm supposed to protect her. I can't let anything happen to her." he said, his mind racing.
"Maybe he left some sort of clue to where he took them. Villains do that sometimes." Oscar reasoned, already rummaging around the lab for possible clues as Otis followed suit. They ended up finding a math clue that the Teleporter left, revealing that he had took Oona and Olympia to the abandoned warehouse on 23d street. That's when Oscar noticed a gadget that he'd never seen before, sitting on the lab counter.
"Hey, look at this. This must be that new shape-inator gadget that Oona told me she was working on." he spoke, picking it up and examining it. Suddenly, he got an idea. "Wait that's it! The Teleporter is obsessed with triangles. Maybe he wanted this shape-inator so he could make more triangles or something." he said, his eyes widening as he looked over at Otis.
"And maybe that's why he took Olympia and Oona. Because he thought they had the shape-inator with them!" Otis pointed out. "Come on, we have to save them." he hurriedly said, briskly walking out of the lab, Oscar already following him. "And let's take the shape-inator with us. I have an idea." Otis added as the two of them darted for the tube lobby with the shape-inator in tow.
Oscar was trying not to show how much he was freaking out internally, but it was kind of hard to hide it. He was worried about Oona. He'd always felt extremely protective of her, especially since he had developed romantic feelings for her.... but he hadn't told her about that, afraid of ruining the friendship and bond that they already had.
Meanwhile Otis was secretly freaking out just as much, desperate to find Olympia and make sure she was ok. It was pretty clear to everyone that he liked Olympia as more than just a friend, but of course, he wouldn't admit that either.
He and Oscar were pretty quiet on the tube ride to their destination, just pondering everything as they zoomed through the earth, determined to save their friends.
