It had been exactly two months since Olympia left Odd Squad. No one really ever expected Olympia to quit her dream job at Odd Squad, and in all honesty, neither did Olympia expect it herself. But after they kicked Otis off the squad, Olympia was a mess, and not really of any use as an agent, seeing as she couldn't focus on anything but Otis, and how she didn't get to work with him anymore. So Olympia did what she thought was best, she quit.
The reason Otis was kicked off the squad? They thought that he was secretly working with some villains to plan a big odd scheme against Odd Squad. Of course, this wasn't true at all. But their was no proof that it wasn't true, and all clear evidence pointed to Otis, so Ms O was forced to kick him off the force. And Olympia was crushed.
She was currently sitting on the floor in her living room, leaning her back against the bottom of the couch, her cellphone in hand. She hadn't heard from Otis since he left the squad, and it was tearing her up inside.
Olympia tried calling him multiple times, but for some reason unknown to her, he never answered or called her back. But even though it seemed that she'd never get in touch with him again, Olympia still hadn't quite given up on trying.
Just as she was about to dial the familiar number that she had dialed at least 200 times in the last week, her phone rang.
Olympia looked at the caller id, and saw that it was Oona calling her.
She had managed to still keep in touch with Oona and some of the others from the squad, and Oona usually called every once in a while.
Olympia quickly replied to the call.
"Hello?" she said into the phone.
"Howdy do, Olympia!"
"Hey, Oona. What's up? How are things at the squad?" Olympia greeted her friend.
Oona sighed "Things are ok. But not the same. Look, Olympia, I know you said you weren't coming back to the squad, but…."
"Oona, I'm not, I can't." Olympia interrupted.
"I know. But, you might wanna reconsider because…." Oona nervously trailed off.
"Because what?" Olympia asked, now suddenly more interested in what Oona was saying.
"We found out that Otis is innocent."
Olympia's eyes widened in surprise, and her heart leapt with hope at those words.
Olympia had tried countless times to convince Ms O that Otis was innocent, even though she didn't have any tangible proof. And now Oona was telling her that Otis really was innocent. She almost couldn't believe what she was hearing.
"W-what?" Olympia stammered out, not quite sure how to react.
"Otis is innocent, Olympia. And Ms O could really use you back at the squad." Oona explained "And Otis too. Ms O wants to personally apologize for not believing him." she added.
"That's…. that's amazing! Does Otis already know about this?" Olympia asked.
"Um, no. Actually, we haven't been able to get in touch with him, and we don't even know where he is." Oona replied.
Olympia sighed. She wanted so badly to rejoin Odd Squad, but there was no way that she was going to do that without Otis.
"Oona, I'll call you back, ok. I need to find Otis." Olympia said.
"Ok, what do you want me to tell Ms O?" Oona asked before Olympia could end the call.
"Just tell her that…. I'll think about it." Olympia replied, hanging up the phone.
She then darted out of her front door, in search of her partner.
Soon, Olympia was standing in front of a random house that she'd never seen before. She had called Owen and gotten him to help with tracking down Otis, and that led her here.
Olympia waisted no time ringing the doorbell several times, desperate to see who would answer the door.
After a couple seconds, the door opened to reveal none other than Otis, staring at her in complete shock.
"Olympia?" he breathed.
"Otis…." she trailed off, speechless for once.
"What are you doing here?" he asked, barely making eye contact with her.
"What do you think I'm doing here?! I'm looking for you!" she reacted. She was secretly extremely proud of herself (and Owen) for being able to track him down. And now that she found him, she wasn't leaving until he agreed to come with her.
"Why didn't you call me? Or answer any of my calls?! I was starting to think I might never see you again!" Olympia exclaimed.
Otis sighed "I'm sorry. I was scared. And I didn't think that you wanted anything to do with me anymore." he admitted, looking down at the ground.
"How could you think I didn't want anything to do with you? I called you so many times." Olympia replied, her voice more soft now since she was on the verge of tears, and having a hard time staying mad at Otis since she was just so happy to see him again.
"I don't know, Olympia. Like I said, I was scared." Otis replied, almost in tears himself, hating how vulnerable he seemed at the moment.
The atmosphere suddenly became silent as Otis and Olympia just stared at each other for a moment, a thousand emotions and thoughts running through their minds.
"I missed you so much, partner." Otis said out of nowhere, finally looking her in the eyes.
Olympia wanted to say something back, but she was so overwhelmed with emotions that she didn't even know what to say. Next thing she knew, she was engulfing him in a big, long overdue, close hug.
Otis slowly wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her even closer to him, if that was even possible at this point.
"Otis, if you join the squad again, you won't be alone anymore." Olympia suddenly said, pulling away to look him in his eyes. "Oona said that Ms O wants to personally apologize to you for not believing you in the first place. She wants you back at the squad, and me too. But I'm not rejoining unless you do." she rapidly explained, Otis internally smiling since he had missed her cute rambling.
"Olympia, I-"
"Otis, please come with me. I can't stand not seeing you everyday. I love you!" Olympia pleaded, not even realizing what she just said until the words had already left her mouth. And now she was blushing like mad. "I- I mean…." she trailed off nervously.
Otis' eyes widened in shock, but soon he was smiling. "I love you too, Olympia." he stated, to Olympia's absolute relief.
It was now Olympia's turn to blush as a smile appeared on her face.
"So will you rejoin the squad with me?" she questioned, her eyes shining with hopefulness.
"Of course." Otis reacted with a nod.
Olympia smiled widely before quickly whipping out her phone and calling Oona to tell her the good news.
"Oona, tell Ms O I'm on my way. We're on our way." Olympia said into the phone.
"Will do!" Oona replied cheerily.
Olympia then hung up the phone and looked over at Otis.
"Partners?" she said, holding out her hand to him.
"Forever." Otis replied, taking her hand in his as they began walking back to the nearest tube entrance, both of them blushing like crazy.
Olympia and Otis were both extremely excited and relieved to be back working with odd squad, but even more relieved to be back with each other.
