Jared rushed down the stairs, trying to find work shirt. He had dug through his entire room- vigorously searching through his well-organized dressers and closet, desperate to locate the only actual required part of his uniform.

The black haired boy even went to his brother’s room, shuffling through Jake and Alaska’s clothes to no prevail. It was odd seeing Jakes room so clean; usually his floor wasn’t even visible due to all the clothes and garbage thrown around it. Alaska must have helped him keep it clean. Jared should have found a girl for Jake years ago.

Now Jared ‘Quest for the Coffee House Shirt’ had spread all the way down to the first floor. He rushed past the kitchen trying to go the laundry room. Maybe he had left it in there? Jared skidded to a stop as he noticed a stranger standing with the fridge wide open.

A shiver of terror filled Jared but he pushed it away as he realized he recognized the intruder. Wasn’t this the school friend Alyssa had brought home a few weekends ago? He raked his brain for his name. Ray, yes that was it!

Ray stood there, letting the cold airflow out of the fridge, his eyes in obvious pursuit for something to eat. Jared cleared his throat, watching the darker skinned man jump. “Can I help you?”

Ray turned and chuckled sheepishly, the discarded fridge door closing behind him with a loud thump. He hadn’t expected anyone to be home- Alyssa said both of her brothers were busy tonight. “Oh, yeah.” He let out a nervous chuckle, rubbing the back of his head- a habit he often did when unsettled. “Hey, I’m sorry.” He shifted uncomfortable on his feet. While he was very sociable at school, he definitely was not in awkward situations like these, “Alyssa asked for me to come by today to teach her some Wiccan spells.”

Jared blinked. His siblings may have been wolves for half a decade now, but he still wasn’t use to the whole “Secret World of Supernaturals thing.” In fact, when his brother came to him to say that he was a werewolf, Jared had actually passed out. His parents told them tales of the paranormal, but never in his wildest dreams did he think they were real!

Jake and Alyssa always got so sucked into the stories though, totally entranced by the notion of werewolves, witches, and spirits. Perhaps it was because of their own underlying gifts that they were so easily accepting of the supernatural community.

Jared never thought he would be though. He did love werewolves, he thought they were fascinating, but all other types of creature gave him the ‘heebie geebies’. Maybe though Hammington would change that. Less then a month at the Full Moon café he had already encountered tons of creatures he never even knew existed.
