Chapter 63: In control

Sky's POV

The event last night played in my head over and over again. I know we have stayed hidden for a year but it is still too early to join the war. And now since the remaining people from the Blood Moon pack had joined my pack we needed more time to train. This is way too much to handle at this time.

"You don't need to keep it all to yourself Sky." Luke's voice got me out of my thoughts. "How long have you been there?" I ask turning my chair around so I could face him. "Well I have been knocking for three minutes when an idea came making me think that there's something wrong with you. So I decided to come in and not to wait for you to answer." The look he is giving me tells me that he truly did worry when I didn't answer for him to get in.

Luke and I are close like brother and sister are to each other. The rest do not know of this because we have agreed that no one should know. In order for me to confine to him we have been meeting here in my office privately. No one knows how attached we are to each other, not even Rea. I smile at him weakly allowing him to know that I really need him at this moment.

"You always know the right time brother." He gave a sly smile then sat on one of the chairs. "Well since that day that you had shown trust in me that I will win against a stronger opponent my wolf seems to have a very special connection to you. So please don't blame me for that." Laughing at what he had said I realize that he had grown braver within the past year.

"Who are you and what did you do with my brother?" I ask seriously as if I doubt that he is the real Luke. But then when his expression changed to shock I was not able to hold in the laughter. "Oh... You sneaky bitch." He states now looking relieved. If that is another person calling me bitch I would have killed him or her before they could have finish speaking but he and I have grown comfortable with each other that our wolves understand our playful banter.

"Seriously Sky. What is bothering you so much?" And so the inevitable truth is brought back in front of me. "Truth? I'm worried. Frightened even; for the safety of all the people I love and care about." I may be a strong fighter and great leader but I am human too allowing me to feel weak in midst of great danger.

His features changed from worried to confuse. "Why does a brave strong and most especially good person like you think of yourself otherwise? Sky we both know that you are more than capable to save us all." These words have just shown how much of a better person Luke is than I am. But of course the lives of many don’t depend on him. Rather it is all depended on me.

"I don't know Luke. It is too early to get in to war. I'm not ready and so is everyone." He shook his head not agreeing with what I have just said. "Sky when your parents died Meg was not ready to take the burden of taking care of herself much more to taking care of you. But she did pull through and was able to be strong for the both of you because of your help.

When our parents died Rea and I, we're not ready to survive in a world that can kill us any second. We were brats, trained to know how to protect ourselves from danger but not to survive on our own. But we survived by the help of each other and we were able to hear your call.

When the task of becoming an Alpha was given to you without any choice you were not ready. But you managed to gather everyone and handle everyone despite the obvious differences. And when the time that everyone thought that I will not be able to survive five full grown wolves you were there believing in my ability.

Don't you see it Sky? We survived every challenge that fate had laid in front of us. And here we are nearing the last battle of our lives to live freely, peacefully and happily among ourselves. We could survive this with the help of each other. Just like old times Sky. The person you were before never lost hope, she always believed and she is who we need right now."

His words echoed through my head and pierced through my soul. He had seen how I had changed in to a person that I no longer know. He knew that the real me had somehow managed to lock herself up in a room to the farthest corner of my being. And he had knocked and managed to destroy the door just to scold at my miserable self for choosing to escape reality.

I stood up and walked over to where he is seated. He is shocked of course for he didn't expect for me to just walk over to him with a blank expression. But then when I hugged him, he relaxed and returned the hug. "Thank you." I mumble still hugging him tightly.  "No need to thank me sis. I had made it my duty to put scenes in to that thick skull of yours." He jokes but I know that he hates being serious so I just laughed at his playful antics.

"Damn. You really know how to kill the mood." I say calming myself after I had let go of him. "Yeah I do, don't I?" He asks me as if he does not know the answer. Then he stood up and headed straight to the door. "Now the decisions are only yours to make." Those were the last words he stated before he left me once again alone inside my office.

Sitting back down to my chair I took in what is in front of me. I never really imagined getting to sit on an office that is made only for a great Alpha. I was a child who only wanted to live happily with her family and friends. But it was all taken away from me. My parents were taken away from me for good. And now here I am in a position that I never imagined would be given to me.

My father always had told me that I am destined for greatness. That he is training me to be a far better Alpha than he is. But besides all this he said that whatever may happen he will always be by my side to guide me. Then Council Patrick's words entered my mind. 'The amulet is worn by Luna.' This is the only time that it had gone through my mind since Council Patrick had given it to me.

The amulet is worn by the females on Luna's blood line until it stopped since my granddad. So it was given to me on my birthday as my birthright to wear it and be proud. But I never really took in to consideration to wear it. And now that Council Patrick's words had reminded me of it, guess it's time to reconsider.

Standing up my mind is on the box, which is now disguised as a book, containing the Crescent moon shaped amulet. And yes that is where the name of my pack came from. My right hand is already reaching for the box when a knock disturbed the silence inside the room. I took the box and laid it on top of my table then walked back to the door.

Opening the door the person standing on the other side was never the person that I expected to come see me. "Did I choose the wrong time?" Amber asks fidgeting slightly. Shaking my head I said no and moved to the side to let her in. I told her to take a seat and closed the door before I walked back to my chair.

"So. You're up early." I know my sentence is kind of dumb but it is 6 in the morning. I woke up early today because I literally only slept for 4 hours. Half the time I'm in bed I only lay awake looking at Dani sleep peacefully. While Luke is still awake from his evening patrol duties. So it leaves me wondering why Amber is up so early.

"Yeah I am. Guess I was testing my luck." She spoke with a grin. "You were trying to corner me all along and this is the only time you tried waking up early to see if I'm available to talk to you." I stated what I had concluded. She nodded grimacing then asked if that is a bad thing. "No, you're lucky that I woke up early today." I answered her which brought a smile to her face.

"Tell me what is it that you want to talk with me about? I guess it's very important that you have been trying to talk with me about it." She nodded then let out a breath she was surely holding in since earlier. "It had been about two weeks now since we have got back and stayed here on your pack. And I know technically both Dani and I am now part of the pack. So I just want to make sure that I am really welcome here."

There is hesitation in her voice as if she is thinking to back out. But she had already said what she was trying to hold back. Which actually got me off guard but curious as to why she thinks that way. Then it hit me, the hidden meaning to her words. "Are you afraid that I'm angry at you because you and Dani used to sleep with each other? And that you loved her even if you are her best friend?"

Her facial expression changed from shocked to afraid in matter of seconds. I would have laughed at her but it is not the right time to do so instead I gave her a warm smile. I stood up walked to the couch where she is seated and sat beside her. "Y-you knew. S-she told you?" I shook my head knowing that she has turned to look at me.

"She doesn't need to tell me anything for me to know. I am a werewolf before you guys turned in to one. This allowed me to smell you on her with the mixture of the smell of sex." She cringed upon hearing me say the last word but I won't deny the fact that it is true so why not say it out loud? But anyway I don't have the right to get angry since Dani and I never became official until now so there are no hard feelings.

"And you're okay with it?" She asks nervously while looking at me. "Well, do you guys still do it?" Her features changed as if asking me if I'm serious. "No. No. Not since we left Alaska." She answered immediately. Nodding I tapped her legs and stood up. "Then you don't have anything to worry about Ambs. Just don't break my best friend's heart." She smiled relieved upon hearing this from me.

She stood up as well then hugged me tightly mumbling. "Thank you." I smiled pulling away from her standing in arms length. "There's no need to say thanks to me Ambs. I should be the one to say thank you because you took care of Dani. And I'm grateful for it." Her smile grew wider then she held her hand for me to take. I reached for it and asked what the hand shake is for. “That is a hand shake signalling our exchange.” She said laughing. Then realization came to me that we have indeed exchanged best friends which turned out to be the others mate.

After our conversation I caught glimpse of the clock hanging on my wall. It reads past seven in the morning which means some of my pack member’s are already awake. Then when amber noticed what I am currently looking at she excused herself telling me that Rea might be looking for her. She apologized for taking too much of my time then head off towards the door. But I stopped her before she could even turn the knob.

“I have a favour to ask; if it’s okay with you.” She smiled nodded then said. “You don’t need to ask Alpha. I will be more than happy to do what you instruct.” I gave her a sly smile then asked her to tell Rea that I will need her and my Betas in my office before seven thirty. She nodded then continued to leave me once again alone with my thoughts.

I walked back to my chair and looked at the box that is now laid on top of my mahogany table. Tapping my fingers on the box as I silently argue to myself if it is the right time to wear the amulet or not. After a couple of agonizing seconds I made the decision to open it. The amulet is crescent moon in shape that is made of a black crystal of some sort with a small silver ring in the middle. Inside the silver ring is another crystal that is transparent.

Reaching for it I got held up by Dani’s voice echoing through my mind. “Sky, baby where are you?” I could still sense the sleep in her voice as she speaks with me through our private mate link. “I’m down here on my office. Just need to fix some stuffs love.” Hoping that she would just stay in bed until the meeting finish I waited for her to say anything else but none came. However the smell of dewdrops engulfed my nostrils once the door opened with a familiar auburn haired goddess standing on the other side with just a robe on.

I know my jaw dropped to the ground with the sight in front of me. So when she entered the room and turned to close the door I tried to gulp the lump that is currently on my throat. She then slowly walked to where I am moved the chair that I’m sitting in and sat on my lap. “I missed you in bed baby.” She whispers with lust. I lick my lips with want as I stare at her pinkish lips.

Ever slowly she leaned down and kissed me full on with want. My hand now had travelled inside her robe which made her moan once our skin touched. I took that time to slip my tongue inside her mouth meeting hers and fighting with dominance. But of course I won which made the kiss grow deeper making the want inside me scream with desire for her.

I want her and my wolf want her as well which didn't help. Unable to stop myself I slowly pulled the rope tied around her waist that is securing the robe she is currently still wearing. But then she grabbed my hand and pulled away making me whimper. "I heard you called the others for a meeting. They might be here soon."

Of course my mind had never let go of the matter at hand. However the want to feel her is a lot stronger than what my mind thinks right now. "I don't mind. They can wait outside. Now stop resisting." She was about to protest but I captured her soft lips once again before she could even utter a word.

My left hand travelled from her thighs moving to her back side groping her butt earning me another moan. The moans she let out every time we make love are now beautiful symphonies to my ear making me want to listen to her moan all day long. I let go of her lips now travelling down to her neck towards her breasts.

Lifting her a few inches up to let her straddle me on my chair while not letting go of her breast made me proud of myself. Then I slowly laid her down on my table forgetting all about the now open box containing the amulet. "Ow. That burns." She cringed a little pulling herself back up to me. I caught sight of the amulet then reached for the box laying it on the floor beside us.

"Sorry about that love. I'll tell you about it later. Do you have any wound?" With her face a mere centimeter away from mine; she shook her head telling me no. I know that what happened might have killed the moment but I let go of the idea taking her lips once again. Then I started moving down towards her left breast as my left hand is now groping the other.

Her fingers are now entangled on my red mane pulling at it slightly in pleasure. It is painful for she seems to be plucking all my hair out at the same time. But somehow it is tolerable and I liked it making me moan with lust. By this time I had managed to tap on my mind calling on to Amber telling her not to let anyone disturb us on my office. She immediately answered with what I think is why but then she said okay as if realizing something.

I don't really care if they find out what Dani and I are doing at this very moment. I just don’t want them disturbing us in a middle of our love making. Thankful that the room is soundproof, I inwardly thanked Council Patrick as if he will hear me thank him. 'Maybe they had that problem before.' I thought to myself when Dani pulled me off of her hard making me snarl at her.

"You were dozing off babe." Is all she said not even apologizing for what she did. A sly smile tugged the corners of my lips making her question my actions with her stare. "You're learning to know your power over me my dear Luna. This feisty side of you just made me want you more." And so not wasting time anymore I slid my hand that is still on her breast towards her core.

Yes, she wore nothing under her robe as expected. Once my hand reached her core her breath hitched but we didn't broke eye contact. What made this more intense is the way she looks at me. I guess anyone could get intimidated by her stare if anyone gets to see her right now. But of course I won’t let anyone see her beautiful body and live the day after.

"Are you just going to stare all morning?" She asks bluntly reaching for the zipper of the hoodie that I'm currently wearing. "Why? What are you going to do i-" I was not able to finish a smart ass reply to her question because she had already sealed my lips with hers. Then I felt her hand land on my slightly toned abs moving up.

I moaned feeling the electricity flow through my body from her touch. Her skilled hands massage my breast making sure not to touch my erected nipples. Then before I knew it one of her hands had successfully unbuttoned and unzipped my short shorts. She didn't waste time reaching for my wet entrance making me gasps upon contact.

She smiled victoriously at what she had done copying my movements on her also wet entrance. I don't know why this time she gets to dominate over me. When I let go I licked the spot and realized that it is glowing. "Sky." She called to get my attention. When I looked up to her, she is still looking at my shoulder. "Why is it glowing?" She asks letting me know that the bite she had just given me earlier is also glowing. But before I could have answered loud banging erupted from my office door. Muffled voices can also be heard from the other side. Meaning who ever the person is, is doing the best they can to catch our attention.

Irritability I lift my hand that is still currently wet from Dani's juices and brought it to my mouth. This action made her jaw fall making me raise my free hand to her jaw and pushed it up to close her mouth. "What? You always taste good so why waste?" She blushed and slapped my arm. But then the banging on my door continued so I pulled the robe to her shoulders and lifted her with me.

I sat her on my chair as she made sure to cover herself properly. As for me, I tried to close my shorts as quick as I can and fumbled on the zipper of my jacket. But of course I grew irritated for the banging didn't stop. Once I reached the door, I grabbed the knob not realizing that I was only able to close my jacket properly.

"What?!" I irritably ask the person whose hand is still raised half way ready to destroy the poor door. "Alpha." Council Patrick spoke apologetically upon sensing my irritation. "Dear Alpha we were just worried about you and our Luna." Council Sofia then reached for my hand and stated making her husband nod in agreement.

I tried to calm myself taking in what is in front of me. All members of my Council are standing before me together with my officials and the elders. Thinking that there must be a very important reason why they did what they had done. I looked at Dani making sure that she is okay to face the rest, she nodded in agreement and so I opened the door wider for them to enter. "Come in. All of you. And no smart ass remarks from the both of you." I spoke directly at Rouge and Rea when they walked past me.

Once everyone is inside I closed the door and locked it. They all stayed silent until I reached my chair where Dani is currently seated. "So." Irritation is still visible in me but I do not care and they know it. "Earlier before we rushed to your door. We felt a new wave of power flow through our bodies." Council Patrick explained. "Everyone in the pack felt it. Even the once from my old pack." Council Victoria spoke.

I nodded then I felt Dani took hold of my hand making me look at her. "Tell them." She spoke through our mate link. The rest looked at us waiting for anything I have to say. "What's that?" Meg asks out of nowhere making me lift my head and look at her. "Huh?" I ask confused. "That, there on your left shoulder. There's something-" but she was not able to finish. "Glowing?" Rouge was the one to cut her off and finish the question for her.

The Councils and Elders looked at me questioningly which made me let out a sigh. "Fine. Well there is no sense in hiding it anyway. We made love but then right after, we bit each other. And now the second bite marks are glowing." I finished with me pulling on mg jacket letting them all see the still glowing bite mark. An amused grin grew tugging the tips of my friend’s lips white the Councils have alarmed expressions and the Elders of course do not know what is happening.

“Alpha?” Council Patrick called asking for my attention. “Yes Council Patrick?” I may have took him as my father now that my parents are dead but since we are inside my office I will need to think of him as someone with a lower rank than I am. “T-the amulet.” He tried to ask but it turned out as a statement for he have stuttered while trying to compose himself. I just gave him a nod letting him know that it is okay for him to continue what he has to say.

“I know you haven’t touched it ever since I gave it to you on your birthday when I was still an Alpha. But have you ever tried touching it? Earlier?” His assumptions are correct. I almost touched it earlier but was held up by Dani who had practically seduced me with her body. Okay enough of that. “No I was to try it on but.. Wait.” A sudden idea came to mind. “Will it have any effect if one of us was able to touch it? Since Dani and I are practically as one now.” His brows furrowed thinking it through. But then Council Sofia stood up and walked towards Dani.

“My dear Luna. Would you please stand up and turn around for me please. “ I do not know how she knew but then she turned her head to look at me and said. “She was scratching her back my dear. No need for those thoughts.” She smiled sweetly just like how she normally is with me. “Would you mind if I ask her to lower her robe just enough for us to see?” she asked politely with a sly smile. She knows how possessive of Dani I had become over the past week. So asking for my permission is practically the right way to go.

“Its fine babe. I’ll make sure not to show too much skin.” Dani spoke through my mind. I lift my gaze and locked eyes with her.  She let out a smile and put her hair to her front then ever so slowly she lowered her robe just enough for everyone to see the burnt mark of a crescent moon on the middle of her back and exactly on top of her spine. “Does it look that bad?” Dani asks worriedly thinking that she now have an ugly scar.

"No. Not at all love. But what I'm wondering is why it looks like my birthmark?" Confusion clouded everyone as Dani pulled her robe up to once again cover her body properly. Now it is my time to show everyone my mark but unlike Dani's mine is easy to see. So I collected my red hair putting it to one side and lowering the back side of my jacket about two inches from my shoulders.

"But how were you able to cover that?" Sam asks pulling them deeper into confusion. "I have the ability to make it invisible and allow it to show only if I want you to see it." A few "Ohhs." Came from my friends and from the elders. "Then looks like the Amulet acknowledged you both as it's keeper giving Dani it's mark and everyone more power than before." Nodding I walked back to where I laid the box containing the amulet.

I picked up the box and laid it on the table for everyone to see. "Leumarian Seeded crystals in the middle to reawaken the spirit and make the wearer realize its full potential. It is lined with silver which helps conceal the power or energy. And lastly the outer layer is made out of Black Tourmaline to protect the wearer from negative energy. That contains very powerful energy and the only one of it's kind." Council Sofia spoke of the amulet and what it is made off.

"Then why did it burned me?" Dani asked confusion written all over her face. "If I had remembered right. And if I may speak?" One of the Elders spoke. I turned to look at who had spoken and saw that it is one of the Elders who don't normally speak so I nodded giving her my permission. "As mates the Alpha and you, our Luna are one and the same. However the amulet was destined only to be worn and touched by a female successor of the original Luna, the first female werewolf.

So when the amulet came in contact with your skin it reacted how it supposed to be to others. However since the amulet saw that you and the Alpha, it's rightful owner are as one. It acknowledged you thus giving you the same mark as the Alpha. The only difference is yours was given while the Alpha had it by birthright." After the Elder spoke everyone stayed silent. Taking in what she had said.

"Well then that makes sense." Meg spoke on a corner with her eyes directed on me. My gaze fell on her now bulging belly. "So is that all the reason that brought everyone here? Did you all really just come in right after we had sex?" Dani continued to speak bluntly as if these are normal things. This however amused Rouge and Rea for Dani had suddenly gotten proud of herself as if she had acquired some of my personally.

Sam and Amber are snickering beside their mates as if they know something the others don't. Even Meg had noticed something had changed in her personally making her look at me questioningly. I shrugged at her letting her know that I too am wondering what might have happened. It's a wonder really because she seems to have changed overnight.

I mean, she can't be right? But then Meg spoke to answer Dani's question or so I thought. "Uhm. It's either my baby sis is that good with her fingers and tongue." Meg started off gaining more strained laughter come from our friends. However she didn't mind them and continued. "Or your emotions are just hyped because you're pregnant. But I'm perfectly well aware that my sister can't get you pregnant. So I guess the answer is the first." Meg stated locking her gaze with Dani.

Of course the rest of our friends were not able to contain their laughter making the whole room boom out with their laughs. I as amused as I was kept quiet while watching at Dani's reaction. The Councils and Elders gave blank expressions knowing that it might get them all in to trouble. Then as expected; Dani let out a warning snarl while glaring daggers at Meg.

"Dani." I tried to calm her but failed miserably gaining a. "What?!" From a irritated Dani. As amusing as this can get I know why Meg spoke her mind. So I disregarded Dani's glare on me and faced Meg. "I know how entertaining this is for you Meg. And I can't find someone suitable for this then you. So I will let you handle Dani for the day." I finished with a playful smirk while Meg's smile widened.

"What are you talking about?" Dani asks irritation is now combined with confusion. "You heard me love. So for today you are not a Luna. You will listen to everything that Meg says. Understood?" The room now fell silent for the others now had felt the growing tension between the two of us. "Yes." She said, finally giving up. "Great. You will thank me for this later on. Now up you go and get dressed. I'll update you with the meeting tonight.

Dani nodded and started to walk off towards the door. Once her hand had rested on the knob she spoke. "I'll get you back for this." And she continued to leave the room banging the door closed behind her. This action made me laugh out loud gaining everyone's attention. Meg then excused herself stating she needs to prepare.

I nodded and bid her good luck before she gets to close the door. Meg smiled saying she doesn't need it and left. The silence filled the room until. "You do know that your mate had just left the room with a threat on you." One of the Elders spoke.

"Yes. Of course." I answered the Elder with a grin. "But that don't bother me. And so now that had finished. May we continue with the cancelled meeting?" By now, I have moved back to my table sitting on my comfortable chair looking at all of them. They nodded and fixed themselves so they look more presentable for a meeting.

"So I know that the land is unmarked. I left it unmarked so that the enemy won't know where we are. But it seems that marked or unmarked; this land will attract anyone looking for safety and a place to destroy. So I have marked it earlier today. Our land go farther than expected. Well knowing my wolf it's not a question.

I also had put people on patrol round the clock. Surveillance have been installed as well as alarms. These will do for now while we train for much bigger numbers and far stronger enemies. Regarding our visitors down stairs. I'm leaving the first line of interrogation with Rouge, Rea, Max, Luke and Alex. If that didn't work let the Councils take care of them and the Alpha of the pack."

My decisions had suddenly formed without me even thinking twice as if I have thought of all this properly. Well, matter of fact I haven't thought of anything else. Besides if I could really save everyone's lives then I should continue making decisions just like how dad used to do so. "And before leaving them to the hands of the Councils. Take the daughter to me."

They all nodded not uttering any word. Maybe they are scared or worried that it may irritate me if they'll ask questions so I decided to speak. "If you have any more concern or questions I can go and answer them now." And let me say, I so regretted spilling out those words because the questions started pouring as if there won't be tomorrow. "Okay! Okay! One at a time people." Oh thank goodness they stopped, making me relax.

"I'll go ahead since you have silenced them all." Cleo spoke out from a far corner of the room. "Isn't it dangerous for Meg to be with Dani for the rest of the day? What if she gets hurt?" The worry is visible with each word she states; letting everyone know that she cares for Meg. "No. She won’t hurt Meg. By the end of the day she'll thank her for sure."

"And you are okay with it even if Dani, your mate will get angry at you?" Alex asked not letting Cleo ask any more questions. I nodded and answered yes to her question. "But why Meg? You could have just asked Council Sofia or Victoria." Rea asks confused at my decision. "No offense." I choose to state looking at two of my female Councils before answering. "None taken." Both women answered.

"Dani was a newborn wolf a year or more ago. And now her wolf is maturing faster than intended. And I know that it is my fault because of what I have asked her to go through the past week. Now, it is funny actually seeing Dani like that because that is exactly how I was way back. See Meg had firsthand experience with a maturing teenage were who's as feisty as she can gets. Unlike, as I have said no offence, with Councils Sofia and Victoria."

"But you and your mate are different. Plus the fact that this is certainly a different situation compared to yours I assume. So how can you say that your sister won't get harm knowing that your mate is a lot stronger than she is." One of the Elders spoke right after my short speech. I don't need to look their way to know who spoke. It always seems to be these two who keeps on speaking their mind without thinking it through.

"I am perfectly well aware that this is a different situation than the one we were in before. But as you have said, Dani is my mate. But then something suddenly urged me to pick up the amulet and wear it.

"Skylar?" Council Sofia's voice brought me back to my normal consciousness. But then I heard myself speak as if I'm being possessed. "An Elder got their position as Elder because they had made a great sacrifice. With that sacrifice given to the Goddess Luna they attained the ability to see glimpse of the future. Also they are given power and eternal life. Meaning no werewolf or any other being can kill them."

I was confused at myself. I know the story but never really gave any attention to it. So why am I saying these words now is a big question. But then I felt a wave of anger that was not mine build up. While her lower body is covered with a soft leather skirt that falls right above her ankles. Markings can also be seen on some areas of her body which surely she had acquired when she was first sent to our ancestors.

I then caught sight of everyone who is now on their knees with their heads bowed at the sight of my mother. Noticing my reaction she turned around to take a look. Then the door burst open and came in a worried Dani and Meg. But they immediately stopped with their jaws in the ground with the sight before them. "Come on in girls and please close the door."
