Chapter 66: The Alpha Pair

I don't know how long I've been staring at the ceiling when I decided to let my senses go into overdrive. The silence was deafening and the sun hasn't risen up. But now that the sunlight is seeping through the curtains I decided to let everything in. And the first thing that kicked in is my very strong sense of smell. I almost choked with the very inviting and mouthwatering smell of bacon and eggs. After a while, I even started hearing the oil on the pan as the food is being cooked. Then I smile to myself as I heard the woman cooking humming a beautiful melody.

“It sure is near breakfast time.” I mumble to myself with an even bigger smile while letting everything else take over.

The closing and opening of doors, footsteps and children's laughter are music to my ears. These were the things that floated inside the room from the small crack that is just a few inches between the bedroom door and the hardwood floor. This super hearing is still new to me; But nonetheless, I'm still grateful.

Deciding to take a bath, I sat up and stretch my arms to wake my senses even more. It's time to take that much-needed shower to start my day. Well to start off everything...

Third person POV

After her bath, Dani went ahead and continued with her morning routine. Once done she choose to wear the closes that were kept well hidden inside the closet. The black tank top that fits her perfectly goes well with the earth-toned skirt that hugs her pelvis then flows down freely to her toes. Her look resembles just like how the Goddess Luna just without the wolf head atop her temple.

Deciding to conceal her presence Dani went ahead and left the room. But the main concern she has is where to go first. So the once again allowed her senses to go into overdrive. She was enjoying the feeling of control and how she can easily handle her new abilities.

That is until she heard a few muffled voices from inside a room that she know so well should be a soundproof room. With the tone of voice and the small hint of irritation; Dani knew what she needed to do and where she needed to go first.

Without thinking twice she moved swiftly and walked as fast as she can to reach her first destination, the kitchen. A smile thugs the corner of her lips being proud of herself for quickly thinking of a plan in a short period of time. Luckily, in a few minutes, she reached the kitchen without bumping into anyone.

“Hmmm. That smells soooo good.” She said once she’s inside the kitchen; the other person not even sensing her presence. This action startled the poor lady who was just humming a beautiful melody while cooking. But then, when the woman turned around to look at who it was that startled her, she froze as the realization hit her.

“D-Dani? Dani! You're back!” The woman said and spread her arms wide while making her way towards Dani. “Indeed I am.” She replied with a chuckle and hugged the woman in front of her. “It seems so long since Luna took me to her place. How long have I been out? How are you and the others?” She, then asked with glee while letting go of the person.

“Oh dear, it hasn't been that long. You've just been gone for a few days. When Skylar was trained by Luna, she was gone longer. A week or more I think. But enough with that. We can talk about all that you've missed but there's an important-” The woman is still talking when Dani decided to stop her.

“I know Council Sofia, that's actually the reason why I'm here now.” She said with a smile. “ohhh.” Sofia said tilting her head to the side wanting to know more about what is on Dani’s head. And with a sly smile, the younger woman told Sofia her plan for the next hour or more.

In the next few minutes, with vigor, Sofia would hum or nod her head in agreement to Dani’s plan. She would not dare interrupt the young lady as she may miss out on important details or forget what she is saying. Until all the plan is laid out that she let out a huge smile which would hurt if she'll smile a little wider.
