Dani's POV
The moment our eyes met it was like everyone else no longer existed in our world. I saw flashes, images that show Skylar and I happy in the near future. At that moment I knew that something happened. That there is a greater bond that is now connecting us both. But then our staring competition was ended with Meg mumbling on to Sky's ear.
The dinner then continued after the announcing of Meg's pregnancy. I'm happy that there will be another part of their little family. But then I notice how Skylar give more than enough attention to the girl on her left side. I felt jealous and envied that girl seeing as I should be the one that Sky gives more attention to.
Then a hand landed on my knee taking my attention to the owner of the hand. Glad to see that it was just Cleo, I smiled at her then she spoke. "Maura is Sky's long lost sister. I will tell you about later." I nodded with a smile then we continued to eat. But then after a few moments I notice that Amber is acting weird all of a sudden. "What's wrong?" I asks worried about my best friend.
"Nothing." She stated now playing with her food. Then to my surprise Sky popped right beside us. "Amber?" She called on to her lowering herself to our eye level. "Y-yes?" Amber stuttered looking at Sky. "Are you done eating?" She asked coolly with a smile. Amber nodded and waited for Sky to say anything. And that's when she held out her hand for Amber to take, which Amber wholeheartedly took.
At that moment I noticed that the room fell silent and all eyes are on them. 'Maybe they're all thinking that Amber is Sky's mate.' I thought to myself as I felt my wolf surfaced making me let out a grumble which took everyone's attention. But then Skylar managed to chuckle somehow amused at what had just happened. 'Please do behave if you don't want everyone to know.' Sky taped in to my mind thinking that I don't want her back.
'Then you should make her think otherwise.' My wolf interjected through my thoughts. 'Okay then.' I answered then looked at Skylar who now is smiling brightly at everyone. "Well that would be a first." A buffed man about 5 or more years older than us stated. He actually made everyone laugh at his silly comment. "Shut it Leo." Sky warned playfully with a smirk.
"Well, I do know what you all are thinking. Well sorry but no will be the answer. However I am more than happy to state another good news." Skylar now had paused standing once again in the middle. "Oh this day would not get any better." She continued. "First I had finally found my long lost sister then Meg and Max had announced the pregnancy and now." She paused once again and looked at Amber.
"Rea, I know how you're trying to hold back the urge to come running to her when you saw her. So people, I would like to announce, my dear Gama had finally found her mate." She finally stated pulling Amber towards another girl. Everyone clapped and cheered in happiness at this news. And I did the same holding my drink towards Amber who is currently looking at me apologetically.
"It's okay." I mouthed out to her as I drank a few from my drink. The rest of the dinner continued on with a little chit chat here and there then one by one people started to excuse themselves. I am one of the last few who choose to stay behind with the intention to help clean up everything. But then a tap on my shoulder caught me off guard.
"Chill." A smiling Rouge stated looking at me her hand still on my shoulder. "Sorry. Its just-" I tried to explain myself but then got cut off. "It's okay Dani. We all know how hard it is to be on guard all the time just to protect yourself from being killed." I then nodded with a shy apologetic smile. "Come on. Let the others take care of cleaning so we could catch up." I hesitated for a moment but then agreed and stood up following her towards the front porch.
"Finally she decides to leave the table!" Sam stated exaggeratedly while the others laughed. I smiled looking around the porch. Everyone were seated on either side with a table in a middle on top is two bottles of rum. "Come on sit beside us." Cleo called on to me tapping on the vacant seat in between her and Sam. I went ahead and got seated but then came face to face with a serious looking Skylar.
