“…Korra needs to be freed. Korra needs to be freed. Korra needs to be freed. Korra needs to be freed! Korra needs me! Let me out. Let me out! LET ME OUT! LET ME OUT OF HERE!”
Korra needs to be freed.
The sentence ran itself through my head over and over again. It started out as nothing but a breath, then a whisper as my body begun to shake, then talking, a scream, till finally my body was convulsing for freedom from the straps that bounded me to the bed. I could hear the metal support of the bed shaking as I fought to be free. And when I failed, my body going limp, I laid there in despair.
This is it. I have truly gone mad! Korra, she is fine, I am sure… But I have never dreamt of her before. Oh, I have lost my mind! Maia, forgive me!
Closing my eyes tight, I wished for tears. None came.
“BLAWAH!”
I screamed, and begun to twist my body again.
Let them try to keep be bound and locked up! I am an Air bender! I am the granddaughter of the great, powerful, beloved Amaya. And I’m not going down without a fight!
Relaxing my body, I took a deep breath, and felt my limps go limp. Focusing on my breathing, I felt the straps against my ankles. Slowly twisting my ankle, I felt my foot begun to shimmy free from the strap. I kept at that pace, and once I felt my toes lightly brush up against the strap, smiled. I kicked my foot up, and looked at it. My ankle was red and raw from where the strap had rubbed up against my bare skin. It even throbbed, but it could not tear my smile from my face.
Just as I begun to work on my second ankle, only using my right foot to help, I heard my door being moved. I froze lifting my head up. As the door was ripped from its hinges, and tossed I smiled. Standing there was Bei Fong herself. I let out a sigh of relief as she came over to my bed.
“Bei Fong! Am I happy to see you!”
She removed the other three straps, and tossed my legs over the side of the bed sitting up. My head spun a little, but I pushed the pain aside. I rubbed my sore, raw wrist, as she helped me stand up.
“Thanks, I owe you.”
She saw me rubbing my wrist, and looked down at them.
“Let me see your wrist.”
I held them out to her, and she quickly bended a pair of cuffs onto me.
“Wha-what are you doing? You free me just to capture me again? Is this some hoax or-”
Her eyes met mine as her face rested a few inches form mine.
“We have to get on the other side of the prison, without anyone paying too much attention. You are not dressed to walk around freely. I plan to use your attire as an excuse, not be quite and walk!”
I looked at her, giving her a small, acknowledging smile, as she walked off, and I marched behind her.
As we walked, I let my head hang, my loose, hair hanging over the sides my face. Hiding it. I hunched my shoulders, hoping to make myself look smaller. I shuffled my feet, but kept close to Bei Fong.
It was a small relief when we got Asami, and an even bigger one when we freed Mako and Bolin. But the relief was short lived.
“Hate to break up your lover’s reunion. Korra’s in trouble. Amon’s captured her.”
Chill bumps rose up along my arms and legs, as I lost all the breath in my throat.
Korra was in danger! I am not crazy. Oh thank the spirits! But if my dream was right, what does that mean about Amon?
