Not edited- they most likely never are. I go back and reread them after being posted. :3
“Is this Jasmine?”
“Yes, do you not like it?”
“No- the opposite, I love it! I’ve had a ton of tea in my short life, but none have tasted this good!”
My great Uncle Iroh smiled at me as he took a seat across from me.
“So you’re my great uncle, why- how did you find?”
“My niece, La- or as you call her, grandmother Amaya.”
“Grandmother- why?”
“Vaatu has been freed and the harmonic conversion has begun.”
“What- no, he couldn’t have, Korra was going to close the portal. She wouldn’t fail.”
“I am sorry to say she has, and she is need of your help.”
“Okay, but you said grandmother sent you- why didn’t she come to me herself or summon me to her as she more than willingly done before?”
“She has been having some issues since your last visit with her.”
I looked down to my cup of tea, guilty.
“I got mad at her, and she blew up. Literally… I haven’t had the chance to apologize. She’s most likely mad at me, and I didn’t mean to blow up. It- there’s just so much behind it all-”
“My great niece, relax, sip your tea. My niece is not mad at you, in fact she could never be more proud. There is, as you said before, much behind it.”
I took a sip of tea, as he continued.
“When she ‘blew up’ her spirit broke. Not in the sense that she’s gone, but, more of into pieces. Amaya was never one to fall into evil, and it is the same even to this day. So in reply to the anger you were releasing towards her, instead of turning into a dark spirit, she separated to release the tension.”
“Oh.”
“Yes, but when she did, something happened. Neither of us can explain it, but somehow, her spirit transferred into you. We think it has to do with the small part of her within you already.”
“Really, she-it-she did?”
“It did, she’s free now, and has been. But not knowing how has worried us both. Zabri, my great niece, when you go into battle, you must be careful to not call on your grandmother no matter what. Spirits from the spirit world cannot live within humans; they are far stronger than the ones within. When Raava fused with the first Avatar, she was very weak- dying. If you call on your grandmother for help, which that small part of her might likely do, her spirit will come and fuse with your body. It will kill you.”
“Okay, so I don’t called grandmother at all- I can handle that.”
“It is harder than your believe, be warned my great niece.”
“I shall, great uncle, thank you for the tea and…warning. Now, Vaatu is free, and I must go and help the avatar save the world… It was really nice meeting you. I can’t wait to tell Iroh I met Iroh!”
Standing, he gave me a hug.
“Before you go, I have something you’ll need.”
We both started towards the door, pausing at it.
“What?”
“A way to get there.”
Opening the door, I stepped out with a shocked face. Waiting, as if it was nothing, was a giant monster. Falling back a step, I looked the creature over before moving forward again. I had another one of the feelings that I knew the creature yet I knew I had never met such a spirit.
