Korra and Zabri sat at a small corner table in one of the many tea houses located within the city. The mood had been somber, at the least.

“Zabri,”

“Please, don’t. I have no need to talk of it. I just ask that you tell no one else. They have no reason to know… I guess I shall contact my father, Aunt and Uncle.”

“Your aunt and uncle? I thought you had no other family.”

“Well… they are busy with their lives. My Aunt Ursa is busy with Fire Lord Duties and my Uncle Kenji teaches in the Earth Kingdom. He’s the head of the Metal Bending School Toph started… they’re too busy for me… So I never bother them. I talk to my cousin every now and then; but he’s busy with Navy life… So, yeah…”

“… I’m sorry.”

Zabri gave a breathy laugh, as she took a sip of the wonderful tea. She sat her cup down, her eyes focused on her thin fingers which traced the rim of the small cup.

“Don’t be. I’m totally use to it, being forgotten and left alone… after my mother died, I moved here. I was no longer close to my family, and… life… just… got in the way.”

“I don’t understand.”

“What?”

“You haven’t cried, not once. You just-just… lost your-your sister. The one person in your family you were close to… how are you not more upset?”

She  shrugged, as a sharp pain suddenly hit her chest. She knew the pain, she felt it when her mother died, when her father left. But she didn’t have time to feel She took a sip of tea, though it didn’t ease the pain.

“I’ve known, for years, that Maia would die… everyone does. She just had a date set… I had prepared myself for that day… But she was killed. I don’t have time to cry, not now. Not when the monster that killed her is out there free. I want to thank you Korra, for coming with me, because now I have a witness to what I’m about to say next. I will not rest a single bone until Amon has paid for his deeds and is dead.”

Korra looked at the fourteen year old, her eyes dull, and lifeless. This teenager, someone who should be so full of life and light; was dead. She could no longer feel the joy of a spring day, or the sorrow of the death of a flower… And Korra pitied her. Her heart broke, to see this body that breathed, but did not live.

After tea, Korra and I headed out to see Bolin and Mako. She called for Naga, and the beast came running, out of the blue. Korra helped me up, my arm being sore still, before she climbed on and Naga took off.

We arrived at the tapped off Pro Bending arena, Korra leaping from Naga as I fell off. She ran, where I slowly made my way to the guy’s apartment. As I slowly climbed up I heard Korra tell them how Tenzin was allowing them to live on the island with us. I got up just as Mako replied.

“Oh, well, we’d love to but-”

“Asami already invited us to come live in her dad’s giant mansion! For here on out, it’s going to be the lap of luxury for us.”

I glanced to Korra her face falling. Looking away, I sighed for her. I was looking forward to seeing my beautiful Bolin every single hour of-, I mean normal day light and night hours. Not like I would watch him sleeping or anything… Back to the story now.

“Hey Korra, I was hoping you’d stop by.”

“We were just leaving.”

“Oh, Hi Zabri.”
